Hi 737 mechanic, I appreciate your video, I did the same with my RX350, my car run great now. It's almost 45T miles. My RX350 is doing a sudden change of gear at 45T. But after I did this method my RX350 runs smooth like new again. Thanks again.
Hey, thank you for sharing your knowledge, I did exactly what you did, my car runs better know. it's almost 58T miles. I wish I did this at 30T miles. But thanks a lot, save me a lot of money. God bless you!
great video for dyi folks, very details of wat need to do step by step. thank u for making it easy for others to do it on our own to save a bundle from the stealership.
Thank you for the video! 737mechanic, appreciate it. I suppose that between each drain/refill, you drive around and park the car and wait until it is cold ?
I have another video showing the only way to do this and ensure the level is correct. The service mode puts the idle at a specific setting so the level is correct.
You would still need to do it 2 to 3 times because you won't get the fluid in the converter. The only reason to pull the pan is if you want to change the filter.
@@737mechanic Thanks for your replay. I've been doing a lot of research on this, and per The Car Care Nut, it is NOT recommended to do this multiple times to get a "clean" result. That would do more harm than good, because the ATF needs a bit of material as the transmission ages to prevent slippage.
There is no specific amount. If you do the proper trans service like I did in the first video or you are very certain the level is correct to start with then whatever drains out is the same amount you put back.
If you are doing a drain and refill using the measured amount that came out it doesn't matter because you are putting in the same amount that came out. If you are going to drain it out and refill using the scan tool method then the car would need to be level to make sure when it starts running out of the overflow it is correctly filled.
Yup, thats because you are only draining out less than half the amount of fluid that it holds so you would need to do this 3 or 4 times to keep duliting it enough to clean it up.
The funnel and tubing is exactly what I came up with . To change the transaxle ? fluid in my before 1987 Chevy Nova in the front end .
Love that funnel and hose trick!! Great idea!

Pls do a video on how to drain and fill coolant fluids
Love the hose. I will copy. Thanks great idea...
Genius! Thank you.
Smart and easy way

Yes, if you are going to do a drain and fill then you want it cold.
Hey, great video! Does the scan tool show level or how do you determine that? What does transmission service mode do? Thanks!
I have another video showing the only way to do this and ensure the level is correct. The service mode puts the idle at a specific setting so the level is correct.
My transmission is leaking underneath that car do you have a video on how to fix the leak? Thanks
No, without looking at it to see what is leaking, it is hard to tell what it would take to fix it.
Thank you
Is that a standard 5/8” garden hose you have rigged up?
It was some hose I got at home depot but any kind of hose would work.
Follow question, can I do the same principle on my 2018 RX350?
Yes
thanks @@737mechanic
how often do you change the transmission fluid? 60 k miles?
I switched to the Valvoline maxlife so I go to 100,000. If I used the WS fluid I would be changing every 30,000.
I'm curious. Why don't you spend a little extra time to pull the pan off rather than do this procedure several times?
You would still need to do it 2 to 3 times because you won't get the fluid in the converter. The only reason to pull the pan is if you want to change the filter.

So what was the proper amount???? Kindly mention that
There is no specific amount. If you do the proper trans service like I did in the first video or you are very certain the level is correct to start with then whatever drains out is the same amount you put back.
Doesnt the car need to be level with the ground?
If you are doing a drain and refill using the measured amount that came out it doesn't matter because you are putting in the same amount that came out.

That looks pretty black for 1 month old fluid
Yup, thats because you are only draining out less than half the amount of fluid that it holds so you would need to do this 3 or 4 times to keep duliting it enough to clean it up.
