To this day, I still consider Scrambled Valkyrie as the best hori-SHMUP I ever play. Great soundtrack and the sound effect fits with 80s space theme. The boss sections are also longer than other games at that time, which for me helps to not get yourself easily bored. Despite most of the contents are not related to Macross, it introduced me to Macross franchise that I love 'til now
Awesome playthrough! This gem is one of best examples on snes great programing and no co-processor chips. 95% running smooth. Great graphics, gameplay and music. For me is there with Super Aleste, R-Type 3 and among the best ones.
@@retrorystergaming577 well, some anime that i have watched as a kid were some girl that are mermaids, in others i don't remember the name of the anime, all i know is that one has an episode where a windmill started to do something weird and the other anime has something to do with a "Pink Dragon" or something like that, but of course, there are also the Pokémon.
@@siddharthnandi3995 well it is rather old (1982) so you may be put off by the visual. But the story and music in the original version is whee it's at. By all means avoid Robotech and try to find the original. It changes the feeling of the anime a lot.
Out of all the Macross games I had known, this is the only one I didn't get to play when I was younger. If only I have a emulator, I'll totally pick this game up for sure. Alongside Gundam, Macross is one of the longest running series back in the yesteryears, when mecha-based games, comics and animes is at large. Now there aren't a single mecha-based stuffs these days. Maybe a few, but..... Sad ☹️
I always invented some weird names for the bosses since they didn't have one 1- Laser Fly 2- T-Rex 3- Robo-Duck 4- Cave Machine 5- Crocodileship 6- Jupiter Bee 7- B a b y
Someone can explain me what and who is the final boss? I cant sleep, i just watch the entire macross anime right now bcause i wanted to understand this game lore (I play it when i was a kid) but i can't link the anime characters to the bosses lol
It's the galaxy baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey. What is it doing in a Macross game, you may ask? Hell if I know. The designers probably threw faithfulness through the window in order to come up with a more fun final boss design than the giant stationary head that is the OVA's take on Boddole Zer, which is what the preceding boss is supposed to be.
An Anime about a Human Spacefract called Macross, who is an war with a alien race called 'ZENTRADI'. Those Aliens are gigantic. And in the US the anime is also known as Robotech.
@Dean Satan Funny finding you on a video of a console you claim to hate so much. You're a closet SNES fan posing as a Mega Drive only fan, pathetic. Of course I can't blame you for loving the SNES too, another great lineup of great games to play. That's why I have both consoles, large library of games to play from each.

Dude, the level 7 theme song is perfect for depressions and suicidal thoughts, beautiful yet depressing ...
why is this called a all bosses video? this is more of a full playthrough!
not that I'm complaining or anything.

Yes, I agree. I wish at the time Gradius 3 runs like this game. Without counting on the recent SA-1 hack.
@@zeromusura3497 there's a fastrom hack of gradius 3, ups the speed from 2.68mhz to 3.7 works on real hardware, i prefer it to the sa-1 hack

By far the best Shmup game for the snes, period. And that music, goddamn, it's awesome!
I loved Robotech as a little kid. It's probably what got me into anime to begin with.
Used to be on T.V before school. This and Astroboy was my introduction to Anime
