For once George gets the upper hand but only for a short while then realises his girlfriend could be faking then the worry starts just such a brilliant show

I like how Jerry isnt doing this because he's desperate to be a good lover to Elaine or that he's attracted to her for any particular reason, his ego is just so bruised that he can't handle it.
In other words, he’s a typical man.
This is the most realistic part of the scenario lol.
I still use the phrase (and cadence) “Fake. Fake. Fake. Fake.” whenever I can.

It takes a lot to crumble Seinfeld's obsessive self-confidence...and THIS is one of 'em! For a woman to tell a guy that she faked every time, it's nothing but an absolute ball-crushing act right there!
i immediately thought of "When Harry met Sally" when this scene started 1:28 (even before Ellaine said anything - ofcourse the previous scene set it up, but i have the feeling the whole scene 2 is set up to look like that infamous scene from WHMS ).
and i really enjoyed how George's mood improves and he orders cake when Ellaine outs herself. Well, she kind of outs Jerry, doesn't she? Its sort of like cuckolding.

Im am always surprised at how surprised i am at the simple brilliance of this show whenever i watch clips every now n then. I already know its great but at 37 yrs old and having seen most episodes a long time ago, this show's magic still has the ability to surprise me.
