$54k after taxes is absolutely ridiculous. That's a $35K truck max.
That fact that you can strip it down and go that barebones and not get under $50K still is insane.
nope 35K doesn't purchase anything but a Camry. Son this is reality not a socialist delu delu where everyone deserves new vehicles.
looks like someone else will buy it then....problem solved
That's only suggested retail price, nobody pays that. With rebates and discounts most people will pay around 45K. Airbags, power everything, touch screen, push button start, other safety crap, you just aren't going to get a truck for 35K anymore.
@@ohioguy4326 Silverado Custom 1500 is 36K
Yes that was the price 20 years ago homie 😂
Single cab, 8 foot box...perfect work truck. 54K is nuts. That's why you don't see many of these.
Thanks for showing us the payload for a slide in camper. I am considering getting a truck for that purpose, and Chevy has a different payload for slide in campers that I can't find published anywhere. It seems it is only hidden in the glove compartment. For crew cabs and double cabs, it seems to be a much different percentage of what the standard payload for the truck is. It would be nice if GM would make this information more accessible for potential customers. I really appreciate their honesty, though, in letting us know there will be a difference in payload if you're using the truck for a slide in camper. Ford and RAM make no mention of this. I like the Lake Shore Blue on the Chevy trucks also.
U need to find a reg cab dually lt to do a review on
Love it! Sexy rugged work truck! Wish the V8 had port induction in addition to direct induction. But this engine with the new 10-speed feels strong. Sit in one. If you're not tall enough the only way to get height adjustable seats is to get the LT with power seats.
Here is the proof that you don't need to buy a $ 80,000.00 truck . The only thing they forgot to order is the roof marker lights , and that's just my personal choice .
You’re right, love the markers!!!
I hate to repeat the cries, but $51k for a "basic" truck seems pretty insane to me.
I remember back in 2007 when basic regular cab GM HD trucks were under $25k before discounts. In less than 20 years time, prices have more than doubled. I'm pretty sure most of our incomes haven't doubled to keep up with that. Even when adjusted for inflation, truck prices shouldn't have doubled. All our money is going somewhere.
nope the 2500HD was over 23K before discounts. Roughly 37K today. Times change and I guess you forgot GM went bankrupt by selling vehicles at a loss and glutting the market. They learned the amount they have to produce and at the price point to stay viable.
@@davidporter7051 GM didn't increase MSRP much immediately after their bankruptcy. Even 10 years after their bankruptcy, you could buy equivalents for around $36,000, which was inline with inflation of the day.
Besides, these price increases aren't to limited GM. Doesn't matter whether it be Ford, GM, you name it, truck prices have more than doubled in less than 2 decades. That outpaces both inflation and consumer incomes.
They know what people want, and stick it to us accordingly. Big SUV and trucks are spendy, little sedans they cannot give away (and are killing them off over time).
I would also say, last few years, RAM and Ford have been more then GM - RAM went nuts for a time jacking MSRP
@@finleyfleming5919 The cost of a manufacturing has increased. Read the quarterly earnings overall GM is making about 4-7% per transaction. Obviously they are not raking in money. Have you even priced toilet paper? Everything costs more.
This is the problem with the economy. You are buying a basic truck that costs as much as the average yearly salary. People wake up. Going into that much debt is really not a good idea. 30 years ago I made 75k with tons of overtime and I wouldn't spend half that on a truck
I’d buy that!
Probably option the bed lights and the 5th wheel pkg along with the 2 110v outlets and call it a day.
That color is very nice in person. Pictures and videos don’t do it justice.
As for the people complaining about the price of this “basic” truck, just remember that 10 model years ago Apple CarPlay, standard touchscreen radios and push button start was not even available on a GM HD. Today’s “basic” trucks would be considered loaded 10-15 years ago.
Those numbers would probably be higher with a bigger tire.
Please do a review on a 2024 GMC 3500 Single Cab Dually SLE. 4x4, with L5P Duramax.
Much Appreciated🙏
Nice. That is a Solid front axle conversion, and a manual transmission swap away from being a proper truck.
Really like that color, was going to pick it if I ordered a new one. Ended up keeping my 2020.
I love Basic!!
Nice truck..
It amazes me how much money you have to spend to get audio volume on the steering wheel of a Chevy.
It’s sad when my 07 Sierra 2500 WT regular cab with a 6.0 has the same capabilities as this 2024. Only thing I hate about these new regular cabs is that they don’t add that little spoiler on the roof like the crew cabs get.
That truck would be perfect in a crew cab hopefully it does not have the GM AFM system
The GM L8T 6.6 V8 does not come with that god awful feature thankfully.
Why does ram and Chevy owners hate long box’s so much? Only ever see those on fords half the time.
it *better* have a wet hole on it for that kind of money!!
Transmission is no Allison. GM misleading
That's not an Allison 10 spd
This should tell all Americans just how bad the economy is that Chevy have to charge 53k for a basic truck,,Just to turn a profit ,people might think there making a killing on profit,,But there only making about 2k on each truck,,
They're not making 2k. They're making 20%.
I just checked AutoTrader for Ontario Canada and with a 66 gas basically same options that is a $75,000 truck. Canadian put diesel on it and encroaches in $88,000 for a regular cab.
At least 20 thousand to much.
30 Thousand cars being reposed weekly. 25 Thousand people loosing their jobs weekly $18 Thousand and you'll take it paint isn't eatable
I HAVE ONE HIGH COUNTRY 4X4
