  • How to remove and replace the lower ball joint in a 2001 to 2008 Peugeot 307. This type of ball joint can be screwed in using a 41mm deep socket or spanner. In this video I refitted the old ball joint just to demonstrate how to replace it. Thanks for watching. Please comment, like and subscribe !.

Last time I did one like this was a Renault Van! Nissans are the same. It took two of us with my pushing the power bar with a length of scaffolding with mt back to free it! The other thing is that the drivers side for some odd reason in these vans, has a left hand thread! We had loads of fun that time! :)

LOL it's funny you mention that, when I renewed the two on the Peugeot 307 the passenger side came off just like in the video. The driver side, however, wouldn't budge with the impact wrench. I had to get a local garage to swap it for me and they took the hub carrier off the car and had to do exactly as you described with two guys and a long pipe lol. These are only supposed to be tightened to 230Nm ! :)

You're welcome, be aware that it could be very, very tight. I got lucky with this side of the car but the other side had to be removed using a breaker bar with about a 5 foot long extension bar. It depends on who last installed it. Best of luck !

With the hub released from the lower arm didnt it all pivot when you tried to unbolt the lower balljoint ?? I'm finding I can't get that bolt out due to the whole thing pivoting when its released from the lower arm..Might try a jack under that

How long is that crow bar? Getting the new balljoint back into the control arm is by far the hardest part of changing this ball joint. I somehow managed to get the drivers side done, but not a change on the other side. I probably need to get a better / longer crow bar and wish that I can somehow push that ball joint in there. I know they are tigh, but having a good impact driver makes the removal a piece of cake.

05:43 the boot was split did you still fit the part? 05:46 you could see clear the boot split opened as you push the socket up.

This ball joint unscrewed quite easily but I've heard some people say they had to take off the hub, put it in a vice and use a 6 foot extension with the socket to get it off !

I don´t understand? You broken ball joint rubber with remover and then you put old one back. It needs new ball joint if you remote ball joint like that.
