Last time I did one like this was a Renault Van! Nissans are the same. It took two of us with my pushing the power bar with a length of scaffolding with mt back to free it! The other thing is that the drivers side for some odd reason in these vans, has a left hand thread! We had loads of fun that time! :)
LOL it's funny you mention that, when I renewed the two on the Peugeot 307 the passenger side came off just like in the video. The driver side, however, wouldn't budge with the impact wrench. I had to get a local garage to swap it for me and they took the hub carrier off the car and had to do exactly as you described with two guys and a long pipe lol. These are only supposed to be tightened to 230Nm ! :)
With the hub released from the lower arm didnt it all pivot when you tried to unbolt the lower balljoint ?? I'm finding I can't get that bolt out due to the whole thing pivoting when its released from the lower arm..Might try a jack under that
You're welcome, be aware that it could be very, very tight. I got lucky with this side of the car but the other side had to be removed using a breaker bar with about a 5 foot long extension bar. It depends on who last installed it. Best of luck !
How long is that crow bar? Getting the new balljoint back into the control arm is by far the hardest part of changing this ball joint. I somehow managed to get the drivers side done, but not a change on the other side. I probably need to get a better / longer crow bar and wish that I can somehow push that ball joint in there. I know they are tigh, but having a good impact driver makes the removal a piece of cake.
Thank you. Sometimes they are installed way too tight. They should only be tightened to 230Nm but some garages seem to tighten them to two or three times that
Thanks for this. But ï think that was not the geniun lower Ball joint from Peugeot in your car. Otherwise you Will need à spécial tool for the dismantling. Anyway Thanks for all and good luck.
I don´t understand? You broken ball joint rubber with remover and then you put old one back. It needs new ball joint if you remote ball joint like that.
If there is only slight play and you do the job yourself top up the grease and replace rubber it can be worth it as mot failure reads " Ball joint cover split and allowing ingress of dirt"! Garage labour could be more than £100!!
I did a course through job centre, tyre and exhaust fitting! Balanced a tyre with cracks then my friend did over 60 on the A45 with me protesting it was practice the tyre is cracked ! Never again!
Hey nice video ! do you know the kia ceed sw from 2011 1.6gasoline has the same ball joint butt do you know what the soket size is ? also 41mm ? thanks
This ball joint unscrewed quite easily but I've heard some people say they had to take off the hub, put it in a vice and use a 6 foot extension with the socket to get it off !

The bar I used was 36 inches
Bravo e preciso con della tecnica di lavoro
An unusually good design by Peugeot !
Indeed!

Nice work but very difficult.

05:43 the boot was split did you still fit the part? 05:46 you could see clear the boot split opened as you push the socket up.
I was only using it to demonstrate the removal and refitting procedure.
Excelente gracias
Thank you !
Thank you for your vids
You're welcome :)
If you don't have a ball joint seperator just screw the nut back on a little bit and hit that you with a hammer
Great video thanks so much
Thanks for watching :)
SUPER .👍🙏🙏🙏
Thank you! Cheers!
Just saw a big rip in your ball joint rubber 😮
I used the old one just for demonstration
Ahh I see it was a really informative video very helpful 👍

I'm just demonstrating how to do it using the old one

Thanks for watching !
super thanks
You're welcome !
How much Newtonmeter power have your impact wrench, i can't open my ball joint, my impact wrench is to weak.
Mine has a maximum of 400Nm. Sometimes these are tightened way too much for any impact wrench.
@@screwsnutsandbolts how many Newton the bolt tight? Sorry for my bad English, how tight ,how many Newton?
@@benkr5870 It should be tightened to 230 Newton Meters (170 foot pounds)
So you could of over tightened that ball joint then. If its 400nm on your gun and the spec is 230nm.

Thank you for watching ! :)
Do the wheels have to be aligned after ?
Yes they do
Why did you put the old ball joint back in?
The video is just showing how to replace it. It didn't require a new one for the demonstration.
Never, ever put your fingers there when lowering the arm, you WILL loose some fingers !
Sometimes they can be very, very, very, very, very, very tight !
😰
Yes indeed !
Impossible to get it off ball joint without a vice ?
This ball joint unscrewed quite easily but I've heard some people say they had to take off the hub, put it in a vice and use a 6 foot extension with the socket to get it off !
Salut cu această presă se pot desface bucsi si la mașini fabricate în europa românia .Cine le comercializa în europa, multumesc. Succes
They are indescribably tight.
Absolute worst nightmare to get off 😳😵💫🥵😤😤😡🤬🤬🤬🤯
I got lucky with these ones. I've heard of some people needing to use a breaker bar with about 6 feet of pipe over the handle for leverage !
Die Bremsscheibe sind kaputt
Warum?
Пыльник на новой шаровой порван
It's not new. I only used it for the demonstration.
40mm! no 41mm
This was 41mm
@@screwsnutsandbolts You're right
:)
That 41mm how long is it
Вот после таких мастеров пороги ,кривые и потом гниют в добавок))
I used the old one just for demonstrating the procedure.
