I wasn’t born in 2001, I was in 2007, and I was born a day before September 11, and in 2016 went to the 9/11 memorial and the new One World Trade Centre, and as much as the new tower is beautiful, I wish the old ones were standing as well.

I was also born in 07 and also went to see the freedom tower but there is a part of me that wished the twin towers they were still standing so i could gawk at their beauty

A personal favorite of mine is The Woolworth building. It's great
@connextro im gonna respect your opinion but the Woolworth building once held the title of world's tallest building from 1913 - 1930. And as you can expect, having a 792 ft tall gothic revival skyscraper being built in the middle of NYC in the early 1910s when the technology of building a skyscraper was still in its infancy, obviously caught people's attention with it's decorative tower and other detailed features. With all that it, it's just the main reasons why it's my favorite. I mean yea the +100 year old building is short according to today's standards, with the 1,776 ft tall freedom tower literally just a few blocks down. But in my own way I'll continue to praise it. just saying

@connextro Chrysler and Empire State both were built simply to compete for the title for tallest skyscraper back in the 1930s. Woolworth was built in 1913, 27 years before Chrysler and Empire State. So there was obviously a time gap between the 3.

construction of North Tower began in August 1968 and the South Tower in 1969, and it was opened on April 4, 1973, and 7 World Trade Center was opened in 1987. sorry for my bad english.
I'm glad that you mentioned that dreadful period in architecture history. The City of New York was especially hit hard at that time. Even mass transit was greatly affected as many of the original elevated train lines in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx (which connected with the subway) were demolished so that the surrounding working class neighbourhoods could be cleared in favour of expensive high-rise apartments. Kavron As long as they understand the impact of what happened its all that matters. Where I live kids these days dont even know what 9/11 is anymore as the schools dont include it in their lessons.
It’s not funny...9/11 isn’t a joke..just because people weren’t alive during 9/11 doesn’t mean they can’t say to Not forget what happened that Tuesday morning.I wasn’t alive during 9/11 but I still go to the memorial and always go downtown every year
9/11 was bad so we have to remember how bad it was because many people went bye bye, hope that helps :)

3:58 in 1982 they started building Brookfield place and the 200 liberty street building, in 1984 they started building the 225 liberty street building and 250 vessey street building. Oh and Brookfield place is also called the world financial center
