First of all thanks OGGY for accepting the challenge :D now everyone has a proper answer as to what RC390 really is and what are the right benefits of owning this beast :) :) trying to get a high speed on NAVI and that aunty going thru the video shot was the funniest part of the video :P
Hey bro, loved the points you presented. Although to be honest only 10 point don't do justice to the RC390 :P I'd say you kept a major point to yourself, affordability. As I'm sure a few must have already pointed out the price of the RC390 is near insanely cheap for it's feature rich build as compared to the N300 as well as R3. It does reflect at places when it comes to the fit and finish of the bike, but considering the bank for buck factor, it's totally worth it. Now getting that out of the way, I'd like to add a "Point 11" that has surfaced recently in favor for the RC390. Now you can get the OEM slipper clutch fitted on RC390 '15 models at any KTM Service Center for roughly a price of 7.5k (part+labor charges). So that makes it ABS+Slipper Clutch as standard on the '16 models and the availability of Slipper Clutch for the '15 models a big win for KTM :D
1. The looks It's not subjective. This video is 6 years old and still the overall look of 1st gen RC still attracts me way better than the revised exhaust version. The underbelly exhaust is spot on.
"now you have a whole lot of information that you have available on here (dashboard), it could probably even tell to you the winning numbers to lottery next week as well"- that was funny. Very nice bike! I like your videos- subscribed!
So nice to watch this :') Well few things i love is 1.the sound i think its different and i love it2.the colour simply stands out 3.annnndd the gear shifts are precise.
As always very nice video , very clean presentation. However you have missed out the biggest factor to have KTMs.. it's more than just half of the price of ninja or R3 😉
Yeah, I understand that RC is pretty Uncomfortable for every day use and for that i have a Apache 180 ABS. But will surely do a test ride for all three, Thanx again bro!
Great video man ! i do own an rc its a 200. But i wouldn't say the display is the best cos its hard spot some stuff when we are riding in sunny time. And again great video and great channel
While the first generation RC390 is probably faster, it's a little less refined than the new one. The new one doesn't overheat as much and is a better overall package with the upgraded braking system. That being said, I'd recommend you test ride all of your options before selecting. The final decision should be what you're comfortable living with and not someone else's review.
@@OggyF thanks for your honest reply! I previously had duke 200 back in 2015 and that was beast for me because that was my first bike. I think i will go for ktm in the end, but will wait for 2019 rc390, i see they have upgraded it, n tft display. Thanks again mate. ✌️☺️
BROTHER, I JOIN MY HANDS AND LAY DOWN MY HEAD infront of you for the video!!!!! The way you have presented this video, the way you speak with some fine and ear soothing vocabulary, the way each and every points were arranged to be informed, and at last the funny instance of Crow shit with MAMA MIA of the LAMBO is simply superbbbb and awesome. Plz make such videos and keep entertaining us !! Thanks..
nice video... even i am planning to go for rc 390, but the only thing fat is concerning me is the fuel economy... can u let me knw dat hw good is it with the fuel economy in city and highway... and hw much have u received if u ride the bike in economical rpms..
bro no doubt 390 is amazing .. but can u tell me is the rc200 is best in its segment as I wanna buy a moderate sport bike that is at average budget .. and ive heard that it creates lot of back pain so is it true ... please revert back .
Is KTM gonna provide slipper clutch installments for the owners of old RC 390.? Because the new one is gonna get one. And if they provide, are you gonna install them?
+Oggy F ohh great.. well i would recommend u to also use hazard blinker.... its a great product.... came to know about it from mumbiker nikhil's video.
+Oggy F I appreciate your videos, especially your theme chosen while motovlogging which is safety. I have quite a few questions about action camera's and how do we go about mounting them on the bike. Firstly in regards to the action camera's, is the sj4000 equally good as compared to a gopro 3? What are the main differences? Secondly are the mounts same for sj4000 and gopro? Also what mounts are required to mount the camera on the handle bar/ visor and at the rear end of the bike. Looking forward to your reply. Also it would be great if you could make a video about it, as I'm guessing it would benefit a lot of other people as well. Thanks and stay safe.
Hi bro, I want to buy KTM 390 now but friends suggest me to wait for some more time for a new model and I'm becoming very desperate to buy one, please suggest should I wait or go for KTM RC 390.
Hi bro wt abut R15 v3 vs ktm rc 125 what do we choose like R15 has bad fiber parts n ktm rc has same body as that of rc 390 and hence how durable are the parts of ktm vs yamaha
I really agree with everything you said, only that comparing twin cylinders with a single is little hard to digest. I mean twins have their own characteristics which a single cannot provide and vice versa. Just my opinion. Don't take it personally. I really like your videos and I am in total agreement. Ride safe. ✌🏽️
hey oggy. subscriber from kolkata. huge admirer of yours. had a quick question- Wanna upgrade my tyres on my CBR250R from those stock Contis, can you suggest something!? Also, what if I want to upgrade my headlights for more brighter light on that bike? any ideas? Thanks. keep up the work you're doing. 😉
I think the Michelin pilot street will serve you well. Wrt to the headlights, I'd recommend getting Osram nigthbreakers installed. Not sure which model would suit your bike but going through the XBHP forum, I'm sure you'll find the answer. Ride safe and thanks for the support.
lol that crow.....jealous of your bike. Btw i am planning to buy this bike can u tell me how much is the maintenance cost. And want to know that u have a something to get grip on your fuel tank (i mean to hold the bike by legs) where i can buy that and whats name of that part?(lol i am noob )
Maintenance isn't that high cause it's manufactured by Bajaj in India. Servicing costs between 1 to 2k and if you know the basics (topping up oil and coolant levels, adjusting chain slack and changing brake pads) you should be able to keep costs down considerably. About gripping your tank, I think you're referring to traction kits ...a popular brand for that is Strompgrips...you get them at performance racing store in Mumbai. They have a website too...google them :).. Hope that helps.Ride safe.
+amit even if the r3 doesn't have abs, it's brakes are very good . people overlook how good of a bike it is in other aspects. India is a young market still and go only after value for money bikes . that's why they end up with dukes and RCs not because one bike has abs and the other doesn't . It takes a more mature mind to understand that the riding experience comes first and then the value for money.even though it's a bummer that it doesn't have abs and has mrf tires, it's the best bike in the 300cc segment.
Zohan describe good when my front wheel was skidding and the back was fishtailing on a slightly damp test day within 60 kmph and I had to apply the back brakes to stabilize the bike. It's not the R3's fault; the braking was progessive, but that MRF was useless. As far as the KTM is concerned I just gave it a Brembo pad and the braking is a lot different. And before we get to braking, the tires are very important. If the R3 came with better tires, I can live with that, but MRF on a decent sports bike, why Yamaha why? My only other option was a CBR250R (too slow) or a Versys (nearly 1.2L over a Ninja 650) for all the safety features and stability. The best 250-500cc class stock motorcycle in India today is the Ninja 300, then the R3 and then the RC390. Once you change the tires and brake pads its a whole other story. Have a ride on all of them you might change your mind. I tried them all and bought a Duke 390 (for interstate trips), a Himalayan (for city roads and traffic) and a Navi for fun. Money was not my primary criteria.
+amit I too have set my sights on a bike . I've ridden the r3, benelli TNT 300 RC and duke. I've overruled the rc because of the riding position and duke (because it's too common) the funny thing about this is that I've ruled out bikes which come with abs as standard and shortlisted the bikes which don't have abs . my commute is from home to college and short weekend getaways . I'm inclined towards the benelli because its a naked ( nothing against fared motorcycles just a preference) , has pirelli tyres( as an option again ) and its awesome exhaust note and it's half a lakh cheaper where I stay . What you said is right, I believe the r3 is slightly overpriced ( 25-30k over ) but it's still one hell of a bike ( like you said with a change of tyres and brake pads) . I haven't ridden a ninja but as far as specs go r3 and ninja seem almost head to head except in some areas. Just waiting for the g310r to release and then I'll decide which one it's going to be.
cool hope you find what you want. The TNT25 was a poor, I hope the 300 is better. They didn't have the 300 when I went and was offered a 600 something. Try the Ninja it's not as quick as the RC till 120, then it takes off and my concern was that I do go fast and better brakes are an added benefit in the what if scenarios. The BMW seems to be the same as the Duke, I just hope that the price it well and people get a good alternative. My college days I had the RX and RD....lesser said about speeding the better. Ride safe Helmets, essential gears and boots.
I love the R3 and ws gonna go with it! But when you mentioned about the fairings, it totally made me not to go with R3! The vdo ws pretty useful to me man!

2020 anyone I remember first time watching this video 4 years back that time i thought oggy f is some racer or something
Can u say which one is power full 2015 or 2016 model (OLD KTM RC)
Nice review of RC390. I settled for duke 200 as I like naked more and 390 is too much power for me!
Now what's your present biki
in Italy rc 390 in more expensive than the r3 and the ninja 300. but used is a lot cheaper
Il Motociclista Povero, thats because ktm assembles its bikes here and then exports it.
In India the rc390 is very much cheaper than the R3 and ninja 300
That women on 5:51 Thinking that you are talking to some invisible man siting on the bike.
The bike did catch her eye though! Goes to say a lot about it then.
cool video bro +oggy f dat Lamborghini part was cool! n as usual pretty good presentation of the video!

Simple, clear cut and well defined.. as always!

yup...agree
is it really half the price? wow its good to be living there.
how much in dll? and the r3 price too if possible, i live in peru and the rc cost around 400 dll less only
thx dude...you helped me a lot...I was confused as hell between the 3 bikes now m going for the RC...wowo m soon excited....
Glad I could help. I'd still recommend that you test ride all 3. The RC isn't everyone's cup of tea :)

Should i buy 2018 rc390?. 😰 i ve heard that previous generation were faster. So should i buy it?? Or now Ninja 300, R1 r better options??

valid reasons. people have different choices man... All cool....
I really agree with everything you said, only that comparing twin cylinders with a single is little hard to digest. Want a new exhaust .. Which sounds like sports bike .. Not too loud .. Any suggestions?
Any exhaust which sounds like a sports bike will make a bit loud sound. I think you should go for Akrapovic. But it will cost a bit more than $1000.
hey bro where did you click that picture where your bike is parked in front of the painting....!! could you be precise... thank you

Yes
good information oggs
what about duke 390
one day if i crashed...will there anything be left to repair.....like can it take the impact
i totally agree with all ur points.....
thank you
what is your view about classic 350 and your source of imcome
2016 r3 comes with abs as standard is what I read on a website. it's available in other countries though.
Not in India R3 does not have an ABS option, that's why most of end up with the DUKE/RC bikes. Even the Ninja 650 and E6n are without ABS.

Duke 200 will serve your purpose the best! Go for it!
RC only if you wanna carve some crazy corners.. Its not very comfy for traffic use! ;)
WandererOnWheels okay.
WandererOnWheels also tell me one thing will it make more difference in hornet 160r and duke 200. because if we go to compare both bikes hornet 160r is more popular in now a days. will it make more difference in just 40cc?
+kamlesh badgujar Take a test ride of both of 'em! See which one suits your taste! ;)
A test tide should help make your decision easier. My friend who test rides for an automotive magazine says that the hornet isn't that great.
I was waiting for the red car 🚘of Homies that appears couple of time in your video at this place😂😂

Can i buy the ktm rc 390 for college as i am a huge fan of ktm
If it's your first bike, I wouldn't recommend a 390...maybe a 200 or 125
how did you change the grips?
