We are Jacob and Jenny, a husband and wife passionate about traveling the world. We started uploading in May, 2021 with a goal to see as much of the globe as possible. After visiting Costa Rica and French Polynesia, the time was right to quit our full-time jobs, so we left everything to travel and have loved every minute of it. Our goal is to make it to all seven continents and visit as many countries as possible. Follow along and be a part of the journey!

Yey!! Look who's back!!! Emjoy your time in România!!
We are so happy to be back!! Thanks friend :)
Visit Oradea, the most beautiful art noveau city în România
Thanks so much for the recommendation friend :)
Really glad that you came back to Romania, especially in Cluj, our city. You need to try a traditional romanian soup(ciorba in romanian). We recommend Zama restaurant, where you can find traditional Romanian food, especially soups, Zama means soup in Romanian. Let us know if you try it! We wish you a pleasant stay here! Merry Christimas!
We are so happy to be back!! We couldn't stay away! Thanks so much for the recommendation! Merry Christmas friend🎄
I was 100% sure you guys couldn't stay away for long, so glad you came back with that positive vibe! Yes, you can find broken sarmale/Varză a la Cluj in other cities, glad you enjoyed your visit and the delicious food, you are always welcomed in Romania, lots to discover!
We were so happy to be back!! Especially for the food haha!! We hope you had a Merry Christmas friend :)
You should try the “galuste cu prune” at Via Restaurant is on 6 Inocentiu Micu Kleim Street, have a nice experience in Romania!
Thank you so much for the recommendation :)
@@JacobandJennyTravel They are also called "gomboti" and are delicious, at least the home made ones :)
as a Romanian, glad you guys enjoyed staying in my country the first time and I wish you all the best and Merry Christmas during your 2nd visit.
🎄🥳
We absolutely loved it the first and second time! Merry Christmas friend 🎄
Love your excitement and enthusiasm you guys. I absolutely love seeing the beautiful landscape. Places I will never see I person, but I get to enjoy through your eyes. Thank you both. Be safe. 💗🎄❄️🙏
Thank you Kathryn! I hope you've got some snow there and are enjoying a white Christmas!❄️🎄 lots of love ♥️
Wow it’s amazing. In april 2024 I arrive in Romania for a 40 days trip there around the balkans but Romania I stay for about 3 weeks. Maybe I’ll hit Cluj Napoca too.
I AM from BRAZIL and live in the south FLORIANOPOLIS. You guys must come here and find out how gorgeous and beutiful it is. brazil is much more beyond Rio and Whatnot.
That is awesome! There is lots to do around Cluj. We really loved Brasov and Busteni :) enjoy your trip friend!! Brazil looks amazing too!
@@JacobandJennyTravel Thanks! I’ll visit Contanța, then Brașov, later Sighișoara. The castle where they shot the movie The NUN and hope to do the scenic route throught the mountains (the most famous one everyone talks about). I’ll enjoy Bucharest for as long as I can before I head to Moldova.
@@mdjunior2604 Just curious, what are your plans in Moldova?
@@RaduRadonys Since it’s so close, why not see it for myself? I’ll stay only 5 days. I’ve been seeing things to do there too like visit the underground vineyards. Eat placenta hahaha. Anyways, I just want it that’s all. Plus, I hear the cost of living is way too low, so that intrigues me. I may even go to Transnistria.
@@mdjunior2604 Cool, I asked because I have never been to Moldova even though it's our neighbour (I'm Romanian) but I might go to visit someday next year :)
Welcome back guys, what a nice surprise. I've watch you during the summer with your vlogs from our country and now you are back again😊 Greetings from Brașov🤗
Thank you so much friend!! We miss Brasov! 🇷🇴
I'm so glad you are back, guys! Since you love our food so much, here are my recommendations for some dishes that you'll only find on Xmas and winter times here in Romania:
- Carne de la Garnita (It's smoked pork that was cooked and preserved in big jars with pork fat to preserve the meat - It's unbelievable. You must try it :D)
- Piftie de Porc (I couldn't make this dish justice if I described it. It's basically like a frozen soup. Smoked pork bits get boiled and the soup broth hardens in the fridge until it becomes like gelatine. It tastes much, much more delicious than it sounds. The gelatine tastes like garlic and the pork bits melt in your mouth. You can only find it during these times. So it's a must!)
- Boeuf Salad (How to describe this?! It's like a cake, but not sweet, made with legumes and mayonnaise, sometimes with meat also. Good stuff!)
- Cozonac (A sweet bread made only on special occasions and Xmas. The cream is made with walnuts, cocoa powder and a bit of Rum flavor. Love it!)
You can only find these dishes around holidays, so don't miss out. You may never get to try them if you don't do it now! :D
Also, needless to say, these all taste better if they are homemade, but the restaurant versions should taste close enough. The cozonac bread, you can find it in supermarkets and/or bakeries.
Have fun in Romania! Merry Christmas!
These all sound so so delicious!! Thank you so much for the great recommendations friend :) We hope you had a Merry Christmas!
Hi guys.
the scenery, the food and the ambience is just perfect.
We totally agree! The food was so good! Thanks so much for watching :)
Awesome, magnificient city !
We agree! Thanks for watching :)
SERVUS! (Sehr-VOOS!) That's the local Transylvanian greeting.
Welkome back guys... the youtube vibe is just getting better😅❤❤
Thank you so much friend!!♥️ We are happy to be back 🇷🇴
If you really want to try traditional Romanian dishes and get to know our culture better, I recommend the Maramureș area, after all it is a poorer area of our country but you can see various rudimentary houses and try many Romanian dishes (eg ciorba raudateana, slănina, jumari) or if such things will not go away and the cities in the west are very beautiful (eg Oradea, Timisoara, Arad) they are more developed areas than Maramureș and I am sure you will like it
Poorer? Ce kkt vorbești? Maramureș e in top 10 exportator. Și e exportator net, adică exporta mai mult decât importa. Nu fii idiot.
That is great to know. Thanks so much for the recommendation friend :)
Wonderful!😊
Thanks so much :)

As you are in Cluj-Napoca, go to Turda Salt Mine, is around 20 miles away from Cluj Napoca.
Do you know the best way to get to Turda Salt Mine from Cluj? We don’t have a car and a taxi or Uber there is too expensive and we know there’s a bus that takes you but there’s not a lot of information about what times they run and where they pick up. Any help would be great!
@@JacobandJennyTravel there is a smallbus which transports people, but I dont know if they will let you in front of the salt mine. Uber or Bolt is expensive?
@ursdaniel we’ll try to research the small bus more. Uber and Bolt usually have pretty good prices, but the ride to get to the salt mine and back to Cluj would be out of our price range
@@JacobandJennyTravel you should ask at the counter where you stay, to give you the Best solution to go to Salt Mine Turda.
Nice to see foreigners enjoying our country, do you have any plans to visit Timisoara or Oradea in western Ro? Have a great time and welcome back ❤
Thanks so much! We are so happy to be back ♥️ We don't this time, but I am sure we will be back!

Lovely😊 Will you guys go to Romanian Carpathia mountains? I think the most beautiful part of them is in Romania. Stunning❤
Thank you friend! We won't this time, but surely we will be back again to see them :) Merry Christmas🎄
Bine ati venit inapoi la Romania, Jacob si Jenny! In other words, welcome back to Romania, Jacob and Jenny! FYI, one of the sights to see is a forest right outside of Cluj - Napoca called Padurea Baciu or Hoia Baciu. You're probably familiar with Sedona in Arizona, but Padurea Baciu is a spiritual energy vortex site. I was there with a group of some one thousand Romanian yogis meditating at the vortex sites and opening our chakras. But winter might not be the best season to visit the forest - the snow is probably very deep, and it's much better in summer.
Thank you so much! We are so happy to be back! 🇷🇴 So interesting! Cheers friend!
It's just a forest, mate, nothing paranormal happens there, I've been there. Also, don't step on all the eyes on the ground, they tend to bleed and scream, big no-no. :P

That's a massive Romanian flag during the intro! We love the Christmas pop up bars in the US, next time we are abroad for Christmas we will have to search for one. Cluj has some nice parks, love when a city can still have plenty of greenery! Hope you enjoyed Romania in the winter!
They are so fun!! We need to go to some more next year!
Hi.
When people told you to come back to Romania in winter I suppose they meant Brașov, mountain resorts and mountains in general, not Cluj. In these time we don't have snow on the lower attitudes anymore. But is so nice you still like it. Imagine what would you have said if you had come during the summer. And I like the path you chose to climb the Citadel. Even if it's ruined it takes you trough a small patch of wilderness in the middle of the city, especially the nice rock strata with small fossils.
Also, welcome back!
That makes sense!! We are happy to be back! Thanks so much for watching friend :)

Daca tot scrii in ungureste, desi nu vad relevanta, macar scrie corect si nu manca litere!
@@cinamar221 Saint Stephen made it the seat of the Kolozs County. The city itself was established in the early 11th century. Its castle was located in the northwestern part of today's downtown, and one of its towers still stands to this day. Around this time, King Saint Ladislaus also founded the Kolozsmonostor Abbey.
In 1241, the Mongols devastated this city, and to replenish the population, King Stephen V settled Saxons here in 1272. King Sigismund ordered the fortification of the settlement, and in 1405, it was declared a free royal city. Despite the fortifications, in 1437, the peasant army of Buda Nagy Antal occupied Kolozsvár, but they were defeated in a decisive battle that took place here on December 10-14, and the city was recaptured.
In the 15th century, the population of the city was partly Hungarian and partly Saxon. This is evidenced by a decree from 1458 by Mihály Szilágyi, stating that the city's leadership, the council of the hundred men (centumvirate), consisted of fifty Hungarians and fifty Saxons, and the judge was alternated yearly between the two nations. During this time, most of the city residents were craftsmen who organized into guilds. A relatively small but powerful merchant class emerged, which secured various privileges for themselves.
In 1468, the leaders of the uprising against Matthias Hunyadi were executed in the main square on January 19. The city walls were completed in 1470. In 1514, a peasant army led by Lőrinc Pap suffered defeat here at the hands of the nobility, and Lőrinc Pap was burned at the stake in the main square.
Poland or Romania?
Why not both?
They are both wonderful in their own ways :) Thanks so much for watching and Merry Christmas 🎄
I'm sorry but unsub because there's too much false admiration, I can't tell what you really like and what you glorify to make it look positive in the recording. I feel that at all costs you don't want to show that you wasted your time and money. At the beginning, such admiration was nice, but over time it became tiring - remember, the eyes don't lie because not everyone can smile with their eyes. Bye
Totally agree, Americans are famous for being too fake and too overexcited for nothing…
We do not fake it. If you watch our number one video on our channel it is all about how we would never recommend anyone do this activity and how awful it was. We are very positive people and choose to see the best in everything. However if we really don’t like something we would NEVER lie and say that we do. I hope this clears things up for you, but either way we appreciate you watching the videos that you did and wish you the best :)
