I’ve watched Max so much I am comfortable being right up in his face. He bugs me the least of all the food bloggers or is it vloggers.. did you notice he said caramelization? A newbie would say carmelization like Carmel the town in California. Apparently we like the same things good food and a quest for precision (he’s so dexterous ),and the perfect bite. first time i see a foreigner reviewing my birth city local food to this scale. most foreigner only do like less than 10 then they go to other city, even the famous youtuber didn't do it like this. you even go straight to the restaurant rather than ordering food online unlike some youtuber, which is the best experience you would get. thank you for promoting it, hope you enjoy your time in here 😁
Jakarta is a good middle ground for indonesian food. It’s difficult to find good nasi bali in padang, it’s difficult to find good nasi padang in bali… but when you’re in jakarta it’s easy to find decent food from each region

Love these videos you made. You have captured the charm of Indonesia. I used to travel quite a bit, but have not been there since the mid Obama term (man, over 10 years now). I fear that, with the internet, social media etc, the street food scene would take way to the McDonalds and malls as Indonesia becomes more prosperous and follows the "modern" west. Glad to see it is not so. In fact, I am pleasantly surprised how still "enamored" they are to "orang Barat" in Jakarta. Even back then, I find this more prevalent during my travels along Sumatra.

a few hundred feet from Ajo Ramon, right near the red light, there's a really good Kwetiaw Sapi (rice noodles) place called Aciap. try the Kwetiaw Siram sapi and the Nasi Goreng Sapi!

max, goreng : stir fry noodle, rebus : boil noodle in soupy broth, usually they give lots sweet soya sauce, but if you prefer it not too sweet just let them know by using hand-pinch effect and said kecap manis sedikit saja
