Your meeting with the "younger version of Schmidt" followed by you walking up to that cliff and seeing a big pile of wrecked archaisms is a callback to Azure where Lloyd and co ran into Siegmund Orlando, had a brief talk with him and then ran into a big pile of butchered bounty monsters, indicating that the guy they just met was a very formidable opponent.
Rean's chest pains also activated in reaction to certain events of powers wielded by specific individuals, like getting Driechel's memories in CSII at the shrines or whenever he met McBurn etc.
i don't think all of them do (Sky the 3rd doesn't but then again that game doesn't have any sidequests. Not sure if all the normal games have it) but yeah, they sure love that one. I think their absolute favourite though is nice and simple monster extermination. Which is why it's so shocking when Sigmund steals it from you.
Ash Carbide is probably one of my favorite of the new cast members introduced in the branch campus. I hope you grow to like him as much as I did. He's such a well written character, imo.

19:20 its not the same place you activate a fight, its just a place where a monster is located originally. So, if you lure it somewhere away of its original place, the fight will still be in the same original place. But it is unique for every monster, so yeah, this is new

Claire's awesome! Can't wait for you to know more about her. And one thing that this game is already starting to show is it's amazing NPCs. Not only do you have a whole new school-worth of interesting students, but now all the old NPC students are grown-up, many have voice acting and even get mandatory roles in the main story! By the end of the arc, you'll know them all just as well as Class VII, and in some cases, they'll undergo just as much development. Imagine creating TWO WHOLE SCHOOLS worth full of fun and memorable students in four games! As mixed as my feelings are on the Cold Steel arc and its main story in general, the attention to detail and NPC care is way beyond even Sky or Crossbell. And THAT is saying something. (Also just remembered: the main enemy group in Sky FC were Richard's Special Ops soldiers. So I guess with Class VII doing "Special Ops Missions" we've come full circle!)

Never really thought shirly was a looker UNTIL you see her in a certain uniform. And im normally not into girls in uniforms. Somehow she just pulls it off perfectly.
If you're struggling with fishing use the turbo function. For whatever reason the reel part of the fishing minigame does not speed up when you turbo mode but the fish will. So you end up gaining more out of your reeling while holding turbo as the fish gets closer to you. I found this out while i started playing (just reached chapter 2 and this basically makes fishing free where it might be otherwise impossible without certain upgrades)
You want to get on fishing from time to time because there are fish that drops rare quartz and U-Materials...especially U-Materials. You'll be needing them A LOT in the late game.

I played trails cold steel first then went back to zero/azure, i had to mute the japanese voices as it made no sense, its like the reverse issue you have.

A tip for getting the battle advantage, put Altina as the leader. You can hit the enemy anywhere, even in the front and it still stuns them.
