After a three month rebuild of my boat I finally got everything back together and LiveScope wouldn't show up on my screen.... Very frustrating going through everything to make sure connections were good and power was good! After several hours of pulling my hair out, I stumbled upon this video and it worked! Thank you so much for the solution. I couldn't imagine this happening on the water, I'm so glad I found this video!
I'm sure this is a dumb question I just got live scope and they didn't ship the network cable with it so I figured I'll get everything hooked up and have it ready for the network cable and be done I hooked the power up to the black box and I get that red light and then nothing do I have to have the network cable and transducer connected for the black box to operate correctly?
Great video. Just got Livescope plus and new 106sv unit. Neither one is coming on. Livescope Box no light at all and graph not coming on. I have 12:6 volts at the power cord to both. I did hook up my graph to same battery by itself and it came on and works. By the way I have the gls10 box and graph wired to the same stand alone battery. Is that okay to do? Thanks
I just purchased a stand alone Black Box, 1022 chart plotter and the 32 transducer. How do I connect the Chart Plotter to the black box. I think they might have shorted me a cable for that.
Thanks for the info. I hope this is all i need! Just bought a boat off of somebody that has livescope. He said it is only been used three times. Which I believe because he gave me all the boxes and paperwork as well. And I'm not getting any light on the status light of the black box.
Hey, how's it going? After making some changes installing the same battery on my boat, I noticed that my livescope started to slow down a few times like yours, could it be because it's on the same electrical line as the lights and bilge pumps? It was right after installing led strips for lighting, and pass some power cables from the 70a source that I installed to the 24v line of the electric motor in the same sonar signal duct Sorry for my English, I'm Brazilian
@@CrappieMonster am brazilian, here there is no garmin support. I think it's an update, could you tell me if there's a way to downgrade from previous updates?
Thank you for this video. It helped me solve the problem with my unit. Also I love your mount for your bow unit. May I ask were you purchased it from. I need one the sits higher I'm getting older now and that would help me a ton. Thanks Chris
Why do you have to unplug the short cable ? My Garmin is doing the same thing. Is there a problem with the cable? I’ve used it one time and it’s reading transducer not connected
My GLS10 black box won't even light up (it's new). I tried exactly as you said and it did nothing. I've tried different batteries, separate batteries, unplugging and plugging back in, everything. Any clue why the status LED won't turn on? Is the black box dead on arrival?
On your unit hit the home button and see if you can select Livescope. Go thru all three connections on the networking cable waiting 10 seconds before replugging it. Put dielectric grease in all the connections. Unplug at black box, at short cable section by the head unit, and then on the back of the unit. If that doesn’t work either call PTG Outdoors in Grenada MS or call Garmin.
@@CrappieMonster I will try those things. If you plug your GLS10 black box into power (not into the chartplotter head unit), will a status LED on your GLS10 light up? I know the manual says that a specific red blinking light can mean there is no chartplotter plugged into the GLS10. I need to figure out if it is solely the GLS10 that is not working properly. Again, my GLS10 has never had the status LED light up once. Almost like it is completely dead. I need to somehow make sure my chartplotter is not to blame though. Is there some way to turn on the GLS10 without a chartplotter plugged in?
I have a 126sv and don't have a connector at 18" on any dual cable or power cable. Just a fuse.. Can't I just unplug the power cable? Have your issues almost every time I fish. Sometimes a few minute delay before the transducer fires up.
I`m just now getting this info thanks for posting! When I use my panoptics for live Scope,I have no cone beam icon on my screen and I don`t know under which menu to look to turn it on. My transducer is connected on my troll mtr but when I turn my mtr there is no indicator on the screen.
Well I've got this exact issue. Unplug my power for 10 seconds and replug, flashed red once then nothing. Tried the other cable like you said and nothing. Any ideas?
Me the dumb dumb had a problem and the fix was so simple but just a dumb mistake I made! I have a Garmin and everything was working perfectly except my panoptix icon was gone off the screen and I didn’t have forward facing. Again everything else was working side scan down scan and mapping was good. I had taken my batteries out of my boat doing maintenance and when I put them back in my boat I didn’t hook up the ground wire for the black box. It just never crossed my mind because I had power to the unit and I didn’t think about the separate power supply. I was about to pull my hair out! I had done everything you’ve been talking about and changed the fuses! That ground wire had fallen behind some things and it was hard to find. I just thought I would make a comment just in case someone else has a problem but a simple fix/mistake.😂😂😂
I miss read your question, I don't unplug anything it all stays plug in, all I do is unhook the small battery to the head unit, and pop out the 20 volt to the black box, and it's good to go.
Now I would imagine that the power cable coming to the black box is supposed to have 12 volts at all times? I unscrew the red power cable off of the black box. Hit it with the voltmeter and there was no power.
@CrappieMonster I figure it out. Whoever installed it didn't crimp the connections on the battery leads well enough. Sometime between the time I fixed the positive connection at the battery, and got the new cradle for the Garmin in the mail. Which was the reason it wouldn't power up. The battery terminal on the end of the ground wire had also broken loose. So luckily it wasn't anything major. I just bought the boat last Saturday. so it was an error by whoever installed it. Thank you for your time and this video. Cuz it may save me in the future

Hey, very informative video, thanks, I am hooking my live scope up as we speak, just taking a break. So you are running separate power sources, one to your head unit, and one to your black box is that correct? That was exactly what I was going to do, but I am running the dewalt 20 volt to the black box and a dekota 12 volt lithium to the head unit, will this be ok. And what voltage will be reading on the head unit? Thanks again
Both must share a common negative so no, wont work correctly. 1 run 3 12ah 18v milwaukee batteries in parallel and power all my garmin units and black box. 126sv, 122sv, 73sv and black box. Isolates entire garmin units from boat voltage and thus no interference. Check for Garmin updates every other month and install them.
