@Jon Little you may want to expand your knowledge of neville Chamberlain. His drive to accomodate Germany was to avoid the Soviets taking over eastern europe and the cold war that ensued. He was wrong in his assessment but he was not an appeaser. He was willing to accept a lesser evil (Germany taking Austria) vs USSR taking easter Europe. In fact, Europe and the world would have been better off if Chamberlain had turned out to be correct. Churchill on the other hand wanted war. Imagine if the nazi had got to the nuclear weapons first. Germany would have won.
@Jon Little mearsheimer is correct in that Ukraine can not join nato just because Russia says so. Appeasement carries a sense of moral inferiority - so what? Ukraine is and will be worse off because of its current leadership decisions. They could have played Russia against NATO and benefited from it or at worst capitulated to Russia's wishes. The west is using Ukraine as a vehicle to weaken Russia while significantly damaging Ukraine. Your comparison to WWII is inaccurate. I personally think Ukraine will lose this war and at best it will lose control of its east and possibly its south or at worst will be destroyed (if Russia proper is threatened).
@Jon Little my post is not deleted. I can see it on the thread from my side. My point is simple Russia is great power and Ukraine should have listened to its concerns
@Jon Little russia is not our neighbor but the Mexico and Canada and the entire south and central america is for that matter. And yes they have to listen to what US says or they will be attacked. They can not pose an existential threat to US. Russia is a weak economic and conventional military power that relies on nuclear deterance. Ukraine/Georgia joining NATO (with eventual installation of short range nuclear weapons by NATO) will negate the Russian's nuclear deterrence and that is whay they will get into a nuclear war in Europe before they allow Ukraine to join NATO. A short of a much longer talk. 2022 May. Well, Russia did lash out when they moderately armed and trained Ukraine. But the alternative is making Ukraine an easy target?
If peace and good relations were the goal of US foreign policy, we could have a different world, but obviously they are not. The goal of the US is to support the interests of the Western Financialplex, and that means financial-economic interests...increasing economic power, or in a word that all people love: prosperity, and this is the basic primal drive of all life-forms. This is why they will never listen, at least not until it's too late. Note: I do not exempt Russia or China from having the same priorities...they are life-forms too. We have usses-vs-thems, distinct social organisms (life-forms) called states competing for resources, and that's the way it is.
The agressor is always the United States. Vietnam, Yugoslavia, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria. Even Latin America, Caribbean countries. Central America. Are you blind, deaf, sick?
What about the right of Russian people to be protected from Ukraine/NATO aggression? You don't have to appease Russia, just stop spreading neo-nazism and sponsoring terrorists. US sponsored nazi in Ukraine the same way it sponsored Taliban at some point and for the same reason. One could hope that 9/11 would teach them not to sponsor extremist... But the US never learns.
What aggression? The actions of the USA since WW11 have resulted in the deaths of literally millions around the world. They have outright invaded or interfered with around 80 other countries. Ukraine dominates the news at the moment, while we hear nothing of the huge death toll in Yemen as I write. Could it be that the Yemenis are brown and not Christians?
The Polish and Baltic people were literally left alone until it became obvious that they were working for the West which in the 90s, after exploiting Russia and rejecting its attempts at cooperation proved itself to still consider Russia the enemy.
And yet still, even today, there appears to be a straightforward path for a sustainable negotiated settlement that provides security to the east and west and acceptable terms to Ukrainians and other border states.
Did you read the current issue of Navy Res Institute, an article about how US marine corps to destroy Taiwan infra structure if China 'invades" Taiwan. it is appeared in USNI, May 2022. The US plays the same game in Asia to Taiwan ignoring people.
The sunk-cost fallacy describes our tendency to throw good money after bad. 2 things to remember: 1. The gold rule. 2. Politics is popularity (but among who?).

It just bother me how these leaders get to lead educated ppl and they are dull as a bat.... All of this aggression and killing could be avoide but instead i guess this most happen God want this to happen2😢
Why is nobody listening?
So this guy was saying all this in 2014 whilst the USA was engaged in a massive programme of disruption, conflict and provocation in Ukraine, a strategy they've made into a fine art all over the world in their almost constant state of war since WWII. He either knew about it and is untrustworthy or he didn't and he's uninformed, either way he never refers to this significant aspect.
I think his main critique about how the USA is going about this is their lack of efficiency as a virus of the plague of war. The military/industrial complex could make a lot more money for longer if they listened to him.
🏳🌈God bless the finest democracy and mainstream media money can buy🏳🌈
Listen to his other talks where he addresses that.
@@MrCarlSellars Not in 2014 he wasn't.
The only Western thinker who still makes sense!
HE IS RIGHT AS WE ARE SLOWLY INCHING TOWARDS A NUCLEAR WAR WHETHER TACTICAL OR FULL BLOWN.WE NEED PEACE VERY BADLY IF CAN BRING IN UN SECRETARY GENERAL TO MEDIATE A PEACE DEAL
Eine Unze Frieden wiegt mehr als eine Tonne Sieg.
Lovely quote ❣❣❣❣
This man should be the US president...
Because that you said Europe needs to invite Russia into Europe not to fight them and Europe it’s going to be unstoppable
Arrogance takes a long time to tame.
It's a shame for the US to have such a president and a team in the government.
Why are they celebrating really,
Cruel for USA!! For the first time in history we could see the nation capable to incinerate USA being ready to fight USA. Bear in mind that USA liked so much to use NAPALM and chemicals like Agent Orange against people in third world countries where those pour people had no means at all to hit USA directly.........This kind of wars USA liked so much. It was like an adult would torture a defendless child.... But this time, for the first time in history war could turn to be very very ugly for Americans themselves INSIDE USA ... The war in Ukraine was probably easily preventable if USA would stop expanding via new NATO members.
Very Good Keynote .. my respect
When did apeasement ever work?! Never...And what about the right of the Polish and Baltic people to be protected from Russian agression?
@@TsarMNK russia has treated central Europe like a cesspool for 50 years and now they want cooperation. That's rich...
You're funny
And yet still, even today, there appears to be a straightforward path for a sustainable negotiated settlement that provides security to the east and west and acceptable terms to Ukrainians and other border states.
Did you read the current issue of Navy Res Institute, an article about how US marine corps to destroy Taiwan infra structure if China 'invades" Taiwan. it is appeared in USNI, May 2022. The US plays the same game in Asia to Taiwan ignoring people.
I am not saying he is completely right but if US hadn't done Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan then the situation would be completely different.
He is completely right ❣
I loved it when China told the Brits to get out of HK.
pride comes before a fall and boy the west is proud at the moment.
Isn't this the person who said Putin wasn't stupid enough to invade Ukraine? Just asking.
The point is we don't have leaders in western countries, who understands about the geopolitics and the economics Of the world.
President Obama once said about his Vice President - Joe Biden , “ Don’t underestimate Joe’s
ability to eff things up “. This is not a joke !!!!
Being a powerful nation, brings an onslaught of jealousy
Where is the full video?
Why is Putin afraid of freedom, democracy, respect for human rights, accountability...etc.?

what happened now ?
A simple exercise is to imagine how the USA would view China or Russia arming and politically meddling in an independent California or Texas.
Well said, this time next year there will be no Europe or the West.
As always, John makes perfect sense, thats why main stream media dont like him.
