The first video I've watched on this channel was New Super Mario Bros coinless. It's nice to see Nico play this awesome game again

Wow, NSMB2 was all about Nico's worst enemy, coins, but it turns out that this first game in the series features more crucial blocks than any other! At least there's no need to debate what's a block for this because it's just riddled with them and makes them so important to so many of the levels. Anyway, seeing these challenges all the time gets me so excited that now Super Mario Bros Wonder is only 3 weeks away! I can't wait to see what exciting adventures await us then
fun fact: NSMB2 can be beaten by collecting and avoiding every coin

Man, this game has so much charm, even being part of the "new" series it has it's own identity and artstyle.

In this game specifically, do Koopas come back out of their shells after a while? If so, you can probably get past that first block barrier by stomping the Koopa, picking up his shell, throwing it up and right so it doesn't bounce off the wall, waiting for the Koopa to re-emerge, and then bouncing off his head. Ditto the next one, if there's a Koopa shell pretty much anywhere in the level.
A) how are you going to throw the shell without it bouncing
B) You can't take shells through pipes I think
@@Cobalt_Spirit In some games you can hold up while throwing a shell and it'll land upright without traveling. You can use some of your own momentum to lend to the shell as well to give it a bit of an ark. I don't recall the levels, so I'm not sure whether the only Koopas were behind pipes, nor do I know if this version allows shells to go through pipes specifically. There's so many slight variations between games that it's hard to keep track!

In 1-1 you can maybe drop a red koopa shell on the stairs and jump on it when it wakes up to clear the stairs
I know the challenge is impossible either way, but can't you throw that koopa in 1-1 at the staircase to jump over it?

You touched a block in 6-2, lol.
Even if you made it past the stairs in the first two levels, you would still have to ride the snake block in the tower and hit the blocks and use switches in the final castle.
I admit that it’s useful for these challenge videos, but I’m standing on my principles. The mini mushroom is one of the worst power ups in Mario history.

I think in 1-1 you could have mini-jumped on the koopa and in 1-2 wall jumped with mini mario

No since you alredy spawn on a block or in water which is technically a block too

Mario bros Ds is the best nsmb
I so want them to do a modernised 2D all stars but instead of the really old 2D games it’s full remasters of New super Mario bros DS, Wii and 2 and if they want to make it four like the old one, add U deluxe onto it too. DS’s mini games would be prefect for a console like the Switch and they could probably have the 2 player vs mode reworked into a 2 player couch thing.
