FUN FACT: In the picture in the first few seconds I'm with my friend Andy (King's Comics) and Nathan. Nathan is the person who wrote most of my infamous ant puns. Really he wrote most of the word play in my MCU movie rankings!
That and the entire hospital episode of season 2 were definitely the scariest parts of the show. I guess the writers just really think hospitals are scary.
Erica and Dustin actually made the season watchable for me. I liked the mall crew the best. Other than Eleven, the rest of the cast was useless and annoying. I was ready for the monster to eat Nancy, Jonathan or Mike.
Nancy and Joyce knew that there was something strange about the magnets and the rats in Hawkins. I found Jonathan and Hopper to be too naive this season. It didn’t make sense that they both played the “You’re Being Crazy!” card early in this season.
Sean I don't often criticize your videos but your character name replacements might give off the wrong vibe. I think new viewers might interpret this as carelessness or disinterest for the show so I'd recommend just looking up the characters' names beforehand. Otherwise great review.
I started balling in the end of the last episode. I loved the season, there was one problem. Steve and Robin, they shouldve been together, they didnt have to make her lesbian, Steve hasnt had one victory with girls, Nacy dumbted his ass for Jonathan, now the girl he likes is lesbian and doesnt like him back. Like cmon, give Papa Steve a win.

My ranking 1. Season 1 (10/10) 2. Season 3 (9.5/10) 3. Season 2 (9/10) The ending was amazing and made me cry. Also Hopper says “ see you in hell” to the Russian , and in the conspiracy video the Hawkins sign has hell graffitied on it, implying he will come back to Hawkins. It’s not a theory he is alive, it is fact.
Overall, I’m on the same page as you. But here are my additional thoughts. First, the negatives. I give the season about a 7/10 overall. I think the plot was too predictable: Here’s Eleven and the gang, there’s a monster from the Upside Down, oh and there are Russians. Then “Scoob and the gang” save the day. I also wish Billy (like you mentioned) had been more present in this season, not just “body snatched.” The “terminator” was a little over the top in my book. Like, it was just random. You mean to tell me the Russians just have one super soldier or something as a guard dog? Second, the good. HOW DID YOU NOT MENTION THE NEVERENDING STORY DUET!??!? That was the best part of the show!! It was also another build up of stereotypical storyline (“I want to hear it!” ...he’s gonna say “I love you”... WRONG) and then the writers divert, and in hilarious fashion. Also, I’m very curious to know how/if/when Eleven gets her powers back. Are there more girls like her? Finally, what are the American scientists going to do with the new portal? I’m curious to see another season for sure, and will 100% binge watch it. However, I hope the story opens up into the world more, and not just stay in Hopkins, IN.
I absolutely loved this season!!!! The visuals were really interesting and trippy for when Billy first got possessed and when Robin and Steve were looking at the lights when they were drunk. The Russian pilot line was definitely a bit of a pay off season 1 and 2 were building to. I kinda wish they brought back Kali but I guess she'll be back for season 4. I also will say this is the first season so far to actually leave me in tears. When Hopper and Billy died together that was so emotional. Billy started off as a jerk and ended as a hero. Hopper started off as a true hero and ended as a true hero (hopefully still alive). I'm so happy they added a post credit scenes for once!!! Overall, I'd give this season an A!!!

It would be stupid to kill Jim Hopper like that. I hope he's in Russia and they give a good explanation. I also hope we don't have to wait 2 whole years.
I actually liked the first few episodes because it showed some personal conflict between the friends and some interpersonal conflict inside Will. It’s always nice to see different types of conflict used in TV shows instead of universal conflict like the Soviets or the Mind Flayer later in the season
I had a lot of questions for this season: Why were rats eating fertilizer if the mind flayer was getting people to erupt into mush anyways? Why was there a Mrs. Wheeler-Billy storyline? In Season 2 Hopper was able to go into the Upside Down by digging a hole, so why didn't the Russians interrogate a Hawkins Lab scientist to figure out how to get into the Upside Down? What were the Russians hoping to accomplish by opening the portal in the first place and why did they need that green acidic liquid? Why didn't the Mind Flayer bring an army of Demicreatures if the portal was open? Barb's corpse has probably turned into a nest for Demicreatures by this point in the series
I found myself narratively unsatisfied by the end of season 3. I also found that they called back their own show maybe a few too many times. I liked Erica but she was kinda a cliche and over the top. Jonathan’s character was shafted, after the first couple episodes Will was barely used (Noah is such a great actor that this made me sad). I think the absence of Hopper and/or Joyce with the kids for most of it was a mistake. I think both of them are more interesting around the kids.

That sequence where billy is in heather's house and beats the crap out of her parents might be the best scene in the history of the show. Especially with the song american pie in the background
Perhaps the best season yet imo. The way I see it is I liked how at this point each character is well developed and we understand all the main characters back stories. There was four plot lines and I believe all were followed very well and everyone had a good amount of screen time. And how they all meet up in the finale. Didn’t feel too force and had you pump to what was to come. 1. Season 3 2. Season 1 3. Season 2
This was the best season for the show yet. Which I did not expect!!!! I love this show so that says something!!! I give this season 9.9/10 It was utterly fantastic!!!!
I sort of agree about the first 2 or 3 episodes, but those still had the Russian translating with Robin, Dustin and Steve. And there was some other stuff in those with Billy, and the old lady with the messed up rats and other plot stuff. And those first few start the important Mike and Eleven drama and the Hopper and Joyce romance and stuff. I like the first few a far bit (not as much as the ones after obviously) is what I’m saying.
Okay here we go: I’ve seen this season TWICE this weekend, so I’ve had plenty of time to think about the good, the bad, and everything in between. So this one is a return to form (for the most part) after a rather lackluster second season. This one mixes things up a bit nicely by showing the kids dealing with teenage stuff, and their parents (like Hopper) dealing with them. (Why is it that Hop and Joyce are the only two concerned adults in this town? Does NO ONE ELSE recall what happened last year?). And yes, it’s very nice how they subvert expectations, with familiar beats but different execution (even if Robin didn’t NEED to come out, Steve reacted maturely). It was great this season to see that El NEEDS her friends, that she might be in real danger without them. The young actors are still great, and so are Hopper and Joyce. Robin is the best NEW character, and the scenes with her and Steve were fantastic (who knew torture could be fun?). Cary Elwes captured the sleazy, corrupt mayor PERFECTLY, even if he didn’t have a whole lot of screen time. Billy’s backstory fleshed him out surprisingly well; even before that I felt bad for him, because the performance was so good. Sure, the first few episodes may not be too exciting, but they’re still solid, just not the best. And this season balances the horror and humor out quite well. The action scenes and special effects were fantastic; the production value was great. If we didn’t care about the characters we wouldn’t watch it, and boy do we care (about MOST OF them, see below for exceptions)! David Harbour and Winona really sold Hopper’s death scene (?), and his letter to El was so touching and the Heroes song was the perfect way to pay tribute to him, even if he’s not dead. Alexi’s death was sooo sad even if I didn’t care for him at first I do now. Same with Billy somehow, I cried at that last-minute sacrifice, amazed that I cared about someone like that. Billy’s subplot with Karen was unnecessary; went nowhere, since he was quickly body-snatched. Couldn’t care less about Jonathan or Nancy; their subplot was tedious even if it finally tied into the main story (it always does, but now they’re just not interesting characters). Erica was obnoxious this season, always mouthing off to everyone (but that’s just a nitpick). One thing that the show REALLY has always had that it’s been missing this time is exploration of the Upside Down. But beyond the obligatory monster and a couple other things, it’s not as prevalent. No one seems interested in exploring it, or answering what on earth was on the other side of that gate the Russians were drilling through? Why do they suddenly have Demogorgons? Overall, a great season, with very few flaws.
I don’t like when people complain about the “boring” opening episodes. It’s been quite some time since the last time we’ve seen these guys. We need some time to catch up. For me, I just liked watching them all have some fun. You can’t go immediately into another upside down adventure every season.
Are you like me and think that Hopper being alive is a good thing that doesn’t take away from the development of Eleven or the emotion’s of the audience? Or do you think that it is just takes away any stakes that this season had?
One of the big things that confused me for a bit was that the mayor and the lead newspaper guy look very similar. Once the newspaper guy gets flayed and melted, you see a scene at the fairgrounds and my first thought was it was a flashback. I just feel that they could have distinguished their looks a little more.
To be honest, idk how I felt about this season after waiting a little less than two years for it. I binged watched it all the day it came out and I plan to rewatch it again then hopefully I’ll know where I stand with it. The one thing that I really hated was.. WHY HAS STEVE BECOME THE ENTIRE SERIES’ PUNCHING BAG??????? Plus Lucas’ sister was even more annoying in this. I honestly don’t understand why people love her character..
I agree about Erica being annoying, but the season wasn't too hard on Steve. He beat a Russian soldier in a fight "his first victory on the show) and had that cool moment where he crashed into Billy's car right before he hit the others
Billy was kind of a boring character in s2 but I liked him this season bc it basically gave his character an arc without making him the character to feel bad for bc he was a bad person to begin with.
This is the best season. I love the way they up the creepiness and danger. The way they explore growing up and the different type of relationships we all have in our life is great. Steve and robin were my favorite pair this season. I really enjoy how they didn't have eleven be the dues ex machina for the final battle it involves the gang saving her
Absolutely loved this season. Honestly it was my favorite. I liked the show when it first came out but I didn’t LOVE it or see why it was so amazing when it first came out but this was great. I was creeped out, I got chills, I laughed, I cried. Absolutely great!
if you look when the machine explodes you can see that hopper isn’t on the cat walk, and then in the russian prison, there is an american prisoner. Either he gets knocked out by by the blast and the russians capture him or he escapes through the portal and heads for russia knowing they are trying to open another gate
Loved the season!!!! The best! I am disappointed that my two favorite characters died (Hopper and Billy). I personally think the Russian had the best death in all of cinema!!. Sean I have a theory. Hopper is not dead. He is trapped in the Upside Down. The next theory is that the “American” at the post credit scene is El’s sister in Season 2. Anyway it’s probably the best season. By the way.........NEVER ENDING STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hoppers not dead. Lemme explain Fact 1: Joyce looks away meaning she wouldn't see him get away Fact 2: one shot of the gate exploding shows Jim is not there Fact 3: in the post credit scene the Russians mention an American. He went into the upsidown I recon.
Hey Sean, a new Hunger Games prequel book was announced and there might be a movie of that, could you maybe rank the Hunger Games movies? I really want to hear what you would say about them.
What sucks is that it took the Mind Flayer and Billy to bring everyone together in the end. They just couldn't all be together just bc. Must show how much we all love these characters.
Two theory’s hopper jumped into the upside down because there was no body maybe the Russians captured him in the post credit they say not the American and it just wouldn’t be right to kill off one of the main characters
Amazing season with a lot of emotions and satisfaction. The first few episodes were slow but I still enjoyed them a lot because of how great all of the characters are and the acting was. My only negative was Nancy and Johnathan working for jobs, very uninteresting. Best season of the show yet!
Personally i loved this season. I had some very minor problems with the season. Overall its a 9.5 out of 10 for me. Probably my favourite season (this or season one).
@@OmegaRejectz I agree the Russians werw a joke. Bur i enjoyed it because it gave us some amazing robin and steve moments . (And i also hate useless bad guys when they have guns). I just enjoyed it so much that the problems didnt stand up nearly as much as my enjoyment.
Basically it’s a plutonic/romantic season for about 90 percent of the main cast: Nancy & Steve, Lucas & Max, Dustin & Suzie, Will & El and Hopper & Joyce.
Fully agree the first 3 episodes were way too slow. Only 4 things happen that actually matter to the plot and this was bad because 3/8 being slow can put you off watching the rest of the series. The last 2 episodes make up for it massively. Best finale by far.
Some problems I had with it: Billy/Karen Wheeler ended out of knowhere Will’s story didn’t go as far as it should’ve Mayor Kline wasn’t that good Robin and Steve didn’t get together
I’m totally in the minority, at least when it comes to the comment section here, when I say that season 3 had to be my least favorite one. I don’t know, it felt so messy. And there were a lot of plotlines that I thought just unnecessary and a waste of time. Like, what was the whole point of Billy and Mike’s mom wanting to bang? I also found a lot of the characters insufferable this time around, like Nancy (in the first half), and especially Joyce and Hopper. Also, I wish they had completely abandoned the whole “terminator” plot because every time it cut to that discount Arnold Schwarzenegger I wanted to fast forward. Dustin and Suzie singing was cute, but felt out of place considering the context of the situation. I don’t know, man, the tone was just too all over the place for me this time around. Maybe I just need a cherry slurpee to chill out.
I loved it and I balled my eyes out at hoppers letter and darce Montgomery was incredible I teard up at his death I hated him in season 2 but He got a great redemptive ark and I kinda wanted him to live love the interactions I was thrilled and I thought this was the funniest season especially the dusti-bun and it cuts to them In the car and you see the monster chasing them whilst the monster is chasing them also loved the joke about how Russians look and then they follow the guy and he’s a dance instructor and that mall they must have spent a shit long time to make that and when Lucas starts throwing his fire works I was like hell yeah and I think it’s gonna be interesting that eleven is losing her powers and we get more Steve and Dustin along with Lucas’s sister and robin but I thought it was a bit slow but I thought it was pretty funny so that made up for it in my opinion this season was an A

1. Season 3
2. Season 1
3. Season 2
Robin: Toddfather
Steve 2019: Screw Todd, Steve's her daddy now
With the end credit scene who do you think the American is? Hopper, Barb, or Eleven’s “Papa” from season one
Barb was shown dead. Why would she be in a Russian prison.
LandoStuff you can never trust those Russians 😂
Papa
Okay here we go:
I’ve seen this season TWICE this weekend, so I’ve had plenty of time to think about the good, the bad, and everything in between.

6 is higher than 7
because of Billy’s line of dialogue in the episode
I don’t like when people complain about the “boring” opening episodes. It’s been quite some time since the last time we’ve seen these guys. We need some time to catch up. For me, I just liked watching them all have some fun. You can’t go immediately into another upside down adventure every season.
Billys death shocked me to my core
Hoppers death just left me eating chocolate ice cream crying for the rest of the day
Same, still upset
And how sad was it seeing El looking for him
Are you like me and think that Hopper being alive is a good thing that doesn’t take away from the development of Eleven or the emotion’s of the audience? Or do you think that it is just takes away any stakes that this season had?
What’s your opinion on the never ending story, super cringe or sweet moment?
Good review, Sean. I agree with you
Hoppers death was really sad, but I’m glad how it all played out in the end
And I’m happy the season wasn’t just focused on will
Hopper obviously isn't dead. Did you see the post credit scene?
My mistake, I knew that
Bro I love your videos keep up the good work
This is the best season. I love the way they up the creepiness and danger. The way they explore growing up and the different type of relationships we all have in our life is great. Steve and robin were my favorite pair this season. I really enjoy how they didn't have eleven be the dues ex machina for the final battle it involves the gang saving her
Best show ever
It's only 2nd to breaking bad
“Turn around, Look at what you see-ee-ee-e”
To me this season was like the Endgame of Stranger Things
Rogue Prawn completely agree 😂 the final fight definitely made it that
Fierce Games and billy + hopper= Black widow + iron man
Am I the only one who hopes that the american refered to in the post credit scene is Dr. Brenner
Not the only one I never thought the demogorgon killed him in season 1
Easily my favorite season. The drama the jokes it was so good
First Comment Also Cool Review
Rank every character from ST!!
Absolutely loved this season. Honestly it was my favorite. I liked the show when it first came out but I didn’t LOVE it or see why it was so amazing when it first came out but this was great. I was creeped out, I got chills, I laughed, I cried. Absolutely great!
Pretty good season I think.
My ranking worst to best is:
2
3
1
@Metal Monkey failed English I honestly hope you get banned of TH-cam
Metal Monkey Failed English ur honestly so dumb his ranking is
1st place. Season 1
2nd place. Season 3
3rd place. Season 2
I liked the Body Snatchers aspect but aside from that, I agree with you
The scene with Dustin singing with his girlfriend was hilarious.
if you look when the machine explodes you can see that hopper isn’t on the cat walk, and then in the russian prison, there is an american prisoner.
I love this channel!
Hoppers not dead. Lemme explain
Fact 1: Joyce looks away meaning she wouldn't see him get away
Fact 2: one shot of the gate exploding shows Jim is not there
Fact 3: in the post credit scene the Russians mention an American.
He went into the upsidown I recon.
Hey Sean, a new Hunger Games prequel book was announced and there might be a movie of that, could you maybe rank the Hunger Games movies? I really want to hear what you would say about them.
YOUR WISH IS MY COMMAND!!! th-cam.com/video/bA-vhT8tE2w/w-d-xo.html
Sean Chandler Talks About oh I didn’t realize you already did it, my bad. Thanks love your channel.
Hopper dies in Endgame
In my humble opinion I believe that the editing in this season was the best of any show ever.
What sucks is that it took the Mind Flayer and Billy to bring everyone together in the end. They just couldn't all be together just bc. Must show how much we all love these characters.
to point something out the dude reminiscent of terminator says a line from die hard
Bro my friend hate billy for season 2, but i cried when he died, and then when Joyce and Hopper went into the lab and, flashback of bobby i cried
Thanks again sean another great video that i thoroughly enjoyed my question is what would you say is your overall favourite tv show
Two theory’s hopper jumped into the upside down because there was no body maybe the Russians captured him in the post credit they say not the American and it just wouldn’t be right to kill off one of the main characters

I agree the Russians werw a joke.
Bur i enjoyed it because it gave us some amazing robin and steve moments .
(And i also hate useless bad guys when they have guns).
I just enjoyed it so much that the problems didnt stand up nearly as much as my enjoyment.
I can’t believe you didn’t talk about the end with hopper. And I’m here like a half year later, but where is your Stranger things 4 trailer reaction?
Season 3 was definatley an improvement on Season 2. Fun fact the girl who plays Robin is Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawkes daughter.
Basically it’s a plutonic/romantic season for about 90 percent of the main cast: Nancy & Steve, Lucas & Max, Dustin & Suzie, Will & El and Hopper & Joyce.
Been waiting for this!!
Everytime I saw Cary Elwes, I kept thinking of Laurence Gordon from Saw
Fully agree the first 3 episodes were way too slow. Only 4 things happen that actually matter to the plot and this was bad because 3/8 being slow can put you off watching the rest of the series. The last 2 episodes make up for it massively. Best finale by far.
Some problems I had with it:
Billy/Karen Wheeler ended out of knowhere
Will’s story didn’t go as far as it should’ve
Mayor Kline wasn’t that good
Robin and Steve didn’t get together
