This guy is whats keeping the hobby/ passion intreging and different. Good job at standing out from others.
It is different
Exactly why I put 8 6.5s in my single cab but when I went to my first show not one person noticed because of all the stunt walls and exterior speakers. Imo the more drivers the more interesting.
It looks like his setup is well optimized for the power and space he's dedicated to it.
Thanks
Dying to hear these in person! I bet he can play anything he wants and it be clean/Crystal Clear! SICK BUILD!
Super cool build
He could turn that into a 6th order real easy and still hit strong with the roof off
Clean install looks great
That is really cool. Good stuff
No science to back it up but smaller subs always sound faster/crisper to my ears. Impressed 6.5s go that hard. Way cool.
Nice job on the build, very clean! 👍
Thank you sir
Yeah I really like the sound of smaller subs! Great musical clarity for all genres. Super build IMO, I got a '19 JLU that Im prolly gonna do 4 SA.v2 SK8s...
My homie has 8, 6" inch subs in a custom built box in his Silverado. And it sounds good also.
Loving it. It's different 👍
Crazy insane and just some 6.5s! Great job sir.
Super clean set up
Very cool. Those little suckers are pounding too way to go man.😃👍👍
First. love that build btw. There's a special place in my heart for 6.5s
This is awesome 🔊🔊🔊🔊💯
Great video I love that jeep setup 👍 👍
Love them small subs build
Can always count on jacobviral to get the good shots and great videos, thank you
Your Welcome , Thanks for tuning into my daily videos!
That's impressive
Well Built sir!
Nice tunning
Surprising to see that Box hitting like that, I did that before and lost bass because that's what the roof dose anyway ?
If you think about it it's pretty close to having the same surface area as 4 12s but I bet they are super responsive with a smaller surface area per sub but I dig it 💯
It’s actually closer surface area as 2 12s- definitely lot more responsive 🤩
Impressive 😎
Them lows 😤
I think I'm going with these small subs next. done with toting around a bunch of groceries to look cool lol
Im curious about the way they are wired and the ohm load
Baby woofers. 😁 Different!🤔 Clean install. 👍
When he said jeeps arent really built for sound jeepandbass must have taken that personally😂 If you havent seen that guys car look it up its wild.
This is a hybrid 4th, essentially a 6th using the trunk as the chamber where the 2 ports meet. Though it may not have been his intention, that top wall is redirecting the soundwave in the same direction as the aero. Its more effective if you seal off the trunk to maintain a certain amount of air space as another chamber with a properly sized opening into the rest of the cabin. Its still very cool looking!
Cool little setup
I did that same "style" box with two 10's. I was just trying to replicate a down-fire box, or an under seat box. It does the job. I had more clipping running my DS-18 3k at 4 ohms than I do now at 1 ohm. It gets down, and the wife is happy. All that matters lol
what amp is he running caause im trying to add 6 6.5 to my system. i already have an 18
He had a 1.8-2k rms amzn.to/3SrO8rL
My first 15s were Savard RAP 15s
In suv the port always sounds better facing the door
Wow thats wild all that from 6.5s but i guess its about the same as 3 r 4 12s
Used your discount code on sky high for my impulsive decisions this morning… 😂
Great time of year to buy on their awesome deals, Every $$ Counts
@@JacobViral yep. Going from ~700w to something with dual inputs 😅 Next year should be fun. Shooting for low 150s on two 12s from the trunk.
Yesir saving a entire 7bucks is great
Looks like the big sixth orders with no port but smaller.
I believe those are series ported 6th orders. This would be a parallel 6th order.
PLEASE show the mid/high amp(s) too, or tell us what it is. thanks
It's a Crescendo Symphony S6. Running 3 sets if Savard mids and highs
@@vinbeyers
These Children don't know about quality. All they know is Skar today.
What a shame.
Probably excess drain on the electrical system. Something they don't think about. Probably heats up and will not have a long life expectancy. Another thing they don't think of. They're only looking at one thing only, price per watt.
Let them get Pyramid.
@Mr. Robert lol, they don't show it, but running a Mechman 320 amp alternator with 2 yellow tops, the XSPower in rear is a Super bank 1000. I have over $3k in electrical. Also, a Fannie cooling the sub amp as well, tucked under rear seat facing amp
will do
@@vinbeyers sub'd ya. Nice setup. You could use more subs on your channel, not in the jeep. : ) o.o
Is that an oem head unit?
No, Stinger Height 10
Pretty sure that upper enclosure will have some loading effect like a 4th order... quasi 6th order ? upper chamber looks like about 1/3 volume ish. I will be willing to say 6th order.... Its similar to some big PA subs My buddy bought from PK before they started building the LAB horns... way back. PK brought them to an early Shambhala festival and we beat the heck outa them at the Ewok Village... Tipper played. good times.
I have the same type of style but with a Kicker L7 8” in a horned loaded enclosure with a 2” L port tuned tune to 32hz and lemme tell you the air coming out of the port is amazing. And the horn loaded pushing back that pressure along with the port to catch more bass response 🔊🔊🔊
👍
Как так???
Basically a Parallel 6th order.
Did he meter it?
No but probably around a 144-145db
On the drive home.
Led Zeppelin, The Who, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Peter Frampton, Jethro Tull, Foreigner. Hahaha.
Dio for me 😂
Fi di bakrah ya 😂😂😂
What kind of battery is that
XS Power Li Lithium Power pretty sure
XS Power Super Bank 1000
I got a 7,000 What system what size batteries should I use in the trunk?
What song is at 7:20
Set it off by Juvenile
@@vinbeyers thanks
I don't know why I feel like he wasn't pushing them that hard. I know they could take more then that.. cool clean setup..
Probably because he wasn't.
Yeah was only 1600watts. With 8 of those subs could take triple that
Are these subs discontinued everyone
Unfortunately yes, however new U Series coming out soon for the 6.5
@@vinbeyers oh shit really? Ill have to look into this
That's equivalent to 3 12s right?
not even close. 6.5"s have very little cone area. although I don't know the cone area of 6.5 or 12"s, I can compare 10"s vs 18"s.
10" = around 300 cm2
18" = around 1,160 cm2
this stuff is easily found online if you look
Per the usaci rule book, 8x6.5 is exactly the same as 2x13 and about the same as 1x18.
@@csj9619 the equation to find cone area is pi*r^2
I'm pretty sure thats a parallel 6th order. Maybe not on purpose, but thats what it is
Not 6th order. To equate the cone area you first need to find the Sd of those drivers and compare it to a typical 12" Sd. Apparently Sundown does not list that spec. Okay if we look at Skar EVL subs here are the sizes in cm²:
113 6.5
188 8
314 10
471 12
779 15
So 3 of the 6.5" is a little more than the cone area of a single 10". All 8 of the little drivers is a tad bit more cone area than a single 15"
4-6.5 = same cone area of a 10"
Not always
That would be 26" that's like close to 3, 10" subs... Who was your math teacher😂
@DCAudioFTW oops... You learn something new every day
@DCAudioFTW makes sense
J are you going to play 12 18 with the buld
No, update video coming today.
That's Cool but Wouldn't it be Better To Have Two 12 inch Sundown's
Yes and no, depends on the goals and style of uniqueness. It got the job done 👍
@@JacobViral Two 12 inch High Excursion Sundown Subs Would be better Than all of those Six inchers it's way louder I know because I have Them on 4 Thousand Watts
So this is a parallel tuned 6th technically
No, because the upper "chamber" is not resonating or restricting output in any way. It's simply focusing the output a bit like a horn (but it's not a horn). It's similar to facing the cones toward the rear hatch. He's focusing the output rearward which also has the effect of increasing the path length making the small interior seem longer. That's all.
@@JasonWW2000 it doesn't need to be to be a 6th parallel tune don't take my word for it go ask a sound engineer who builds enclosures better yet go check out hexi base and how to count orders. I've been building professional enclosures for over 16 years man I went to school for it 😉
@@justforlaughs8988 Oh, so the front row of drivers can be mostly firing into clear air and you can still call it a 6th order? Cool, it's a very loose term I guess. I would more likely say it has a horn loading effect (although not actually a horn).
@@JasonWW2000 the fact is its loading in a chamber makes it another order
@@JasonWW2000 here check this 6th series out it's the same type of enclosure but instead of a parallel tune like this one it's a series tune but you get the idea. th-cam.com/video/lGkM9MeO6X8/w-d-xo.html
Those sundown 6.5s werent enough to bring on Jacobs stink face
Lol, but they do the job
@@vinbeyers let's let Jacobs face be the judge of that
These lil subs can get down..I love the haters, those who have kicker or fosgate system telling people how loud their 2 12s or 15s are ..The expression on their faces when someone rolls up with a 2 or 4 8" set up on less power sounds 10x louder
Sorry, but that math doesn't add up. Perhaps the bigger subs enclosure is not designed correctly and loses output or has narrow bandwidth. Then the smaller enclosure is designed just right. Maybe then it would sounder louder and better. But generally speaking, all things equal, the larger surface area is going to have higher output levels. Like MBE says, cone area is king. Lol
I had 2 jl 8s (w3d6) with my Walmart 5.25s all on a 4 channel Sony xplod 600 watt amp in my jeep and it sounds better than my current 2 12 and mids and highs in my suburban
@@FrozT99 bummer.
@@FrozT99
I agree with you 110%. The problem is you're addressing people that are bass heads. They don't understand clear music. They just want to impress their friends driving down the block to see how annoying they could be. It's a it's a contest, how many car alarms can I set off? how many people can I drive crazy. You know the truth don't worry about the haters they're always out there.
@@FrozT99
I already posted to you but I'm going to add one more thing. They probably don't even know who JL Audio is
