    Second video showing this thing load an IBC tote. Several other people have asked to see it load & unload a pallet of pavers or block for a landscape/construction job. Not a ton of people running IBC totes with firewood all year round but lots of hardscapes & construction jobs.

      Given two wheel drive of the design and how the the balance point is. Most likely works poorly in low traction and tight spaces. Put in heavy load and since it kinda needs to be on higher than wheels on wide loads, now you have high center of gravity well as pain in the ass when going down or up slopes, where slowing down can cause it nose dive or loose traction on one side and nosedive well as flip it on its side. Sure there is some uses for this, but its limited. If they added loading option into their 4 wheel platform and made it towable, that would make far more sense than this thing and even then if there is option to add tracks over wheels kind of setup fast depending on the environment in question, well as if you can have swappable attachment from forklifts to bed, bucket and options for some specialized attachments. In a sense each of these presented seems rather one trick pony with weak ankles... I mean i do like the idea, but for the price just add tow hook and dollies to suitable forklift and tow that (if possible by local regulations).

      I imagine those high speed engageable hydraulic motors are the killer expense on this thing. Generally if it's hydraulic and engageable, it's not high speed for like highway speeds. Maybe a lower end version with manual locking hubs would be the solution

      @@markheintz1878it's good to save on weight compared to a moffett but even then this would probably only be good for sod haulers since this is pretty similar to the same forklift most of them use anyways.

      Roofing it would be perfect, but that’s still a lot of money, like if you took out a loan and structured it into the business finance property it would work. Or if you had extra capital you needed to burn for tax purposes

    Looks a good piece of kit. Only thing I can see that would worry me is the strength of the mudguards if the load is accidentally dropped down onto them. Really interesting piece of equipment. My two observations are 1. It seems a bit slow. Understandable, considering the weight it will handle but by the time it is disconnected from the truck and the tote is placed, then reconnected to the truck, you almost could have done it by hand… 2. I feel like the boom should go out another 12 to 18 inches for better reach. I know that would probably reduce lifting capacity and potentially compromise safety due to the narrow width but it just seems to fall a little short considering the price. Just my 2 cents. Pretty cool though, it’s a great idea!

    This is simply not true. I had a Champ 6,000 lb TOWABLE forklift back in the 80s. I owned that machine for 20 years.

    A standard forklift capable of lifting 3500 lbs won't need a CDL to deliver.

    • @orange3203
      @orange3203 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most of your trucks that carry a forklift and a payload require a CDL. Yea a flatbed and a bumper pull trailer would be under CDL but that's an expensive setup. I bet this is cheaper

      @@orange3203Trailers are cheap new forklifts are expensive. I really think it is a neat concept. I personally would try to integrate a skid steer type coupler and aux hydraulics so it could be used to do other minor skid steer related activities. Such as augering holes, or moving material. It is really similar in design to the original bobcat skid steer.

      You can’t always drive a truck into someone’s backyard or reach with a boom from the road.

    Almost: but ultimately--> USELESS. Only useful for Totes as it cannot hold this beyond the wheels and off flat surface we have serious tipping problems due to how narrow it is... I realize WHY as it is so light, but ultimately one should just get a battery powered wheel barrow.

    • @DudeRanchDIY
      @DudeRanchDIY  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s simply not true, the unit is just under 7’ wide and if you are going down a slope you’d drive it in reverse with the load facing the uphill side.

    35k! May as well just buy a skid steer. They need to slash this price in half to make it a viable business decision
