I highly recommend these clocks. I built one from a kit and everything was there along with incredible instructions. He even includes gummi bears and a mechanical "Wooden Times" pencil for you to mark and measure with. Great value for the money.
+John Scheele The reduction used is a daisy wheel, it is now the third clock I have used it in, I really love its elegance and simplicity. You can find out a bit more here :- www.woodentimers.com/forum/index.php?p=/discussion/comment/69#Comment_69
wow. i want to build clocks like this! where did you learn to do this??? are there books you read, if so, i would really like to know what you suggest as a reading list. thanks for posting, thumbs up! (and subscribed over a year ago!)
check out gear ratios (and related maths), dead beat escapements and the working of automatic watches. you also OBVIOUSLY need ALL requisite tools and knowledge of their application and upkeep. this should be enough to get the ball rolling. then you need to continue research in escapements and especially those specific to wall clocks that use pendulums for flywheels. you can learn all of this right here on youtube!!! some (relatively) easy and simple escapements..... th-cam.com/video/V1lHo8lGhWg/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/z_7rE8afFfo/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/iITt1iIQFO8/w-d-xo.html

Beautiful clever design as usual and really love how you did hour hand gear reduction. It's so clean!! What is this gear type called?
