Agree. It sounded pretty terrible in person, boomy and woolly, almost painful, indistinct vocals, etc -- was amazed how much better it sounded on this recording.
The breeders are having a whale of a time compared to the lifeless husk that is modern pixies . Sad I wish Frank continued with the catholics they were putting out some great tunes.
Post reunion Pixies’ recorded output has been incredibly painful to listen to. It’s boring and dreadfully dull. I was never a fan of Charles’ music after he disbanded Pixies. Just never resonated with me. Breeders I have always liked. To me Pixies is Come On Pilgrim to Trompe Le Monde and that’s that.

Bummed that Kim left the Pixies but happy for the rest of them that they are still making music and touring and that the Breeders are too.
