How much for a shop to do this? A guy in town does it without removing the cab says you get a lot of squeaks after that process, I just need to get it running to sell ,06 F350 x cab long bed 250,000+miles
What about people that have to do it with a cab on and is there any other weak parts that should be replaced looking at a truck that needs bulletproofing and I really want to do it myself to learn 😎
8-15k would make major power reliably on a 6.0, unless you go to a mechanic, which at that point you waive all rights to complain about cost. You can easily get by with studs and a flush if the previous owner actually cared. Which tbh you should do studs on any diesel but that’s just me
"unfortunately the 6.Oh's downside is only 4 head bolts per cylinder..." Good lord did you see how fucking thick those studs are when he opened the box!? Haha they look like they'd be M18 or 20
Years ago I was at the Tulsa Fair. Ford always shows off something there. They happen to have a cutaway 6.0 new design just out. And with the engine a couple young dumbass engineers to answer questions. I seen then and told them then, Idiots designed a engineering nightmare (junk). UH thanks for your questions! Duh!!
Owning a ford diesel is all most as much fun as going to the dentist, proctologist plus having your finger and toe nails removed simultaneously without anesthesia. You "ONLY" have to remove the cab to work on the engine, what a brilliant design....... NOT
You can very well do heads and all with the cab on, by just removing one engine mount. But if one has a lift, the cab is designed in such a way to make it reasonably quick to remove, so most shops go that route.
absoubtly love the 6.0 content.
Thank you Justin
Keep the 6.0 content coming
We plan on it!
Why did you have to spray ether on the start up? Just to not have long cranks at first?
You can make a fortune fixing those darn Ferds

So the head gasket is 20mm dowel? When you put the dowel in after, it seemed like it could just be the 18mm end going through the gasket

between 10 and 12 usually

How are you not going to do an after dyno run?
311 wheel from a 325 hp rating ? I’d say that’s strong.
Ya with 300k on it and pretty severely cracked heads
Yea I was going to say that’s pretty impressive. Bone stock with that many miles!? Wow
That does sound like it's probably got a tune on it, or a very generous dyno. 6.0s typically do ~250-270 rwhp 100% stock.
Is that a big crack in the left front tire?
Please tell me you didn't drive a 1000 miles with that.
Awesome work guys 💪🏻👍🏻
Thank you 🙌
Great video series! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have paid my fair share of maintenance fees but I love my 6.0.
267k and counting.
This is why I sold my Cummins lol. Also loved it tho
What is the website name for the studs?
Optitorque powerdrivendiesel.com/product/optitorque-torquemaster-6-0/
Hard to believe many ppl would “ invest “ 8-15k in a 15-19 year old truck that didn’t have a good engine to start with.

Brand loyalty
Because I don’t have 60k for a used ‘16 and definitely not spending 80k for a new one, plus no def, particulate filter, and maybe other related things
@@curtisc8233 , you don't have $8k for the repairs either.
@@repairvehicle yes, I did. And no payments

Bore put a 12 valve and you still got 6 liters. But in a much more reliable, cheaper package.
More 6.0 content
It's on the way! Full motor build for hot rod tow pig is up next!
I still think a 12 valve Cummins swap would have been better! I would swap a 12 valve into my 6.0…
Why not a 24v?
@@250r6 I would be down for a 24v too!
I heard the owner of this truck likes men 🤷♂️
Marge: He prefers the company of men.
Homer: Who doesn’t?

Oh god just scrap it. Got four dead ones on my block.

If I want to listen to music I'll turn on the radio. Zero instructions on what you're doing while you're doing it.
LOL .. guess you didn't hear the part about the 2 hour video at the end
I don't way anyone would want one of those.
Fords suck. Never will I own one
