The problem with my blade I believe is this gap. However, when I insert the blade, there is no gap, while the blade is working, it creates a gap. So the left side is perfect and the right side is not cut thru. Why do you think this is happening?

That sounds like the tab at the front that locks your blade in is not pushed all the way closed.
