Most of the game I know about already, but I've either only played them off of demo discs back in the days, or I only seen them in game magazines. Never got to play or own a full game. You really have exquisite taste in games to form lists like these. Kudos to you.
Brave Fencer Musashi is one game that I tried with the demo disc along my PS1, I wanted to play it badly but couldn't find it that easily. When I managed to grab a copy, it was love at first sight. One of my favorite games in the entirety of the PS1 library, no doubt. Thank you for the video!
As an FYI, the PAL version is superior to the NTSC as it has more content and extra British insults and curses. Sean it could be another entire series comparing the differences in game region releases.
Brave Fencer Musashi, Legends of Legaia, & Jackie Chan Stuntmaster Special Mention to Ape Escape and the Mega Man Legends games due to their lack of play in modern day.
DUUUUDE! Awesome collection of games. I’ve been looking for a reasonable prices copy of Geppy X and Samurai Gunman for a while now. Every time I watch one of your videos I find even more games to blow my money on. My wallet hates you man. ;-) Great Video as always my friend.
What a great video, love the music and presentation! Plus I've never heard of Saiyuki Journey West! It looks amazing, Tactics was always a fave. Cant wait to try it out
I love your videos. I also LOVE hearing you talk about the Playstation 1. Just hearing you speak of gems like Team Buddies gets me itching to look for them. Thank you.
I think Musashi is pretty well known, more than Tread of Fate, for example. Hogs of War, I don't know if call it a hidden gem, but is fun; also Sheep Rider and Looney Toons back in Time ( if I remember well the name).
Leandro Franco Ramirez, Hogs of war (Marranos en guerra) is an absolute favorite of mine and a good party game too. Kind of 3D worms type, it has aged badly in terms of graphics and controls (as most 3D games in PS1) but it’s extremely fun and I like its humor.
hi there. I really enjoy watching your videos and I became a huge fan ^^ I have another suggestion for hidden gems: Streak Hoverboard Racing :D best wishes
oh my GOD i've been trying to remember guardian's crusade for soooo many years, thank you! Ever play Alundra? Maybe it's on this list or one of your others, lol I'll find out
Hmm. As someone who's seen a lot of the Saiyuki anime and the Saiyuki-derivative Dragonball, a different take on the story, with me controlling it? I am intrigued. ---- Brave Fencer Musashi - Oh yeah! Probably one of my favorite rentals that I wish I bought. One of those cultural jokes that pops up everywhere it seemed. Musashi was a legendary swordsman who showed up late to a duel with Kojiro. People who played this game know that Kojiro makes an appearance here as well, however their names are also the Japanese names for our forever-blasting-off duo of Jessie and James from Pokémon.
Good list !! Next part digimon card battle,brigandine,thousand arms,legend of egaia,shaman king,chocobo racing,monster rancher 2,jade cocoon,ape escape
Most people were more aware of part 2, at the time. It was really hard to find the original game after the sequel came out, I think it only got a longbox release, to tell you the truth.
I’ve been going through Dragon Quest 11 on switch, which has been a blast! Octopath traveler is also on offer at the moment mate if you fancy that, great RPG!
I remember playing a game with a guy using a wip and guns I think and you had to fight skeletons and I remember a battle against a skeleton dinosaur But I can't remember the name Does someone knows it? If I look in google it shows castlevania but I don't think it is because castlevania is in 2d and this game was in 3d
The PS1 has SUCH an extensive library and it's one of my favorites to collect for. This was a great list and I really hope to see a part 2 😁
Definitely. The PS2 era gets the most praise (at least from what I've seen and heard), but not a single console to date has topped the PS1 for me.
I’m still praying for a re-release of some kind for brave fencer musashi.
That would be amazing!
Eric Staples really??? Where have you been able to find it? Thank you by the way.
Same here. Damn, they're just sleepin' on a goldmine by not remaking the Musashi series!
It was the perfect game for the 3ds. But well, Square Enix is a dumbsterfire of a company anyways...
Fantastic game! Really enjoyed back in 1998 when Squaresoft released tons of gems (this, Parasite Eve, Einhander, Ehrgeiz, Xenogear)

Thanks mate 🙂

One of the greats!
I love Akuji The Heartless, Jersey Devil, the Bugs Bunny games, Rhapsody rpg
I absolutely love Brave Fencer Musashi. I still have my copy. I actually just pulled it off the shelf to replay this week.
loved this vid. Genuinely one of my favourite top 10 lists
Cheers Ry!
My favourite, Brave Fencer Musashi! :D
One of the greats!
Team Buddies was a classic, I still got my original copy on ps1 from when I was a kid. Love dusting off my ps2 slim and playing it every so often.
Team buddies is also one of the rarest ps1 games ever. You could get a lot of money for it
As an FYI, the PAL version is superior to the NTSC as it has more content and extra British insults and curses. Sean it could be another entire series comparing the differences in game region releases.
Brave Fencer Musashi, Legends of Legaia, & Jackie Chan Stuntmaster
Special Mention to Ape Escape and the Mega Man Legends games due to their lack of play in modern day.
Stuntmaster! So underrated
I love BFM. Klonoa: Door to Phantomile is my favorite game of all time, though!
Klonoa is criminally underrated. I played Klonoa 2 on ps2 years ago and it was great also.
Other game that is very unknown is Deception III: Dark Delusion. Is a very unique game, pretty hard and fun.
DUUUUDE! Awesome collection of games. I’ve been looking for a reasonable prices copy of Geppy X and Samurai Gunman for a while now. Every time I watch one of your videos I find even more games to blow my money on. My wallet hates you man. ;-) Great Video as always my friend.
Haha I apologise to your wallet 😅 glad you found some games to add to your to buy list mate. Got a vita video up next 😉
What a great video, love the music and presentation! Plus I've never heard of Saiyuki Journey West! It looks amazing, Tactics was always a fave. Cant wait to try it out
Galerians is one of these games, I managed to find at flea market.
I love your videos. I also LOVE hearing you talk about the Playstation 1. Just hearing you speak of gems like Team Buddies gets me itching to look for them. Thank you.
I’m glad you enjoy the videos! 🙂
@@thatvideogamesshow Yes. And if you could, besides the ps1, could you please do more Wii videos ? My Twin brother loves those. 👍
Lemme just say I love the intro and transitions, quite tasteful
That Donkey Kong opening was freakin awesome!!!
I think Musashi is pretty well known, more than Tread of Fate, for example.
Hogs of War, I don't know if call it a hidden gem, but is fun; also Sheep Rider and Looney Toons back in Time ( if I remember well the name).

I've beaten Jumping Flash! 1 and 2 so many times! Too relaxing of a game to not revisit
Stickerbrush Symphony is a win right out of the gate.
hi there. I really enjoy watching your videos and I became a huge fan ^^ I have another suggestion for hidden gems: Streak Hoverboard Racing :D best wishes
Great suggestion! I’ll include it for another episode, thanks for the tip! 🙂
Brave Fencer Musashi?! 🤯 You are a gentleman and a scholar.
oh my GOD i've been trying to remember guardian's crusade for soooo many years, thank you! Ever play Alundra? Maybe it's on this list or one of your others, lol I'll find out
I love the donkey Kong country 2 song in your intro.
I think silhouette mirage could have been a great addition to this video but still great video!!
Is Zan possibly an inspiration for Red Steel?
Hmm. As someone who's seen a lot of the Saiyuki anime and the Saiyuki-derivative Dragonball, a different take on the story, with me controlling it? I am intrigued.

Never even heard of these games but one reminded me of one I have tactics ogre or ogre tactics can never remember the order lol
Yesss Rising Zan is awesome!
So glad Chinese handhelds can emulate PS1 games flawlessly nowadays 😁
Where should I think about getting one ?
samurai gun if i can recall has an anime adaptation and Galerians i had no idea there was a videogame version, I watched the movie version
very happy to see jumping flash on here
Great selection
Good list !!
Next part digimon card battle,brigandine,thousand arms,legend of egaia,shaman king,chocobo racing,monster rancher 2,jade cocoon,ape escape
Great choices there.
Vandal Hearts 2 it’s another good RPG, the story is very good and the gameplay it’s somewhat different.
Great suggestion!
Great list, I would definitely say The Unholy War, Tail of The Sun and Skullmonkeys are hidden gems you should consider.
Thanks for the suggestions!
@@thatvideogamesshow The Unholy War def needs some love. Such a fun arena brawler with a strategy mode. My friend and my fav party game for years.
Finally someone talking about team buddies
Next you should try doing a list for all the tops shooting games for the N64. (Since I'm assuming that console doesn't have enough rpgs)
Re-release of Brave fencer would be awesome
nice video, i might give some of these a try! i love the remix of stickerbush symphony (aka my favorite game track of all time) you use in the video.
Thanks mate, I hope you enjoy them.
Another great video. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
5:18 is that Leon S. Kennedy?
Edit: Oh, nevermind a few seconds later it's stated that this indeed has Resident Evil cameo's ^^'
Now is the perfect time to play all the games.
Samurai Deeper Kyo was a great anime 🙂. Brave Fencer was on Dreamcast also, wasn’t it ? I think I had it....... so long ago🤭
guardian's crusade a very hidden gem. remake musashi square!
Jumping Flash is on the PS Classic. That seems oddly accessible for a hidden gem. The rest of the list is really good, though.
Most people were more aware of part 2, at the time. It was really hard to find the original game after the sequel came out, I think it only got a longbox release, to tell you the truth.
100% finish with Guardian Crusade, collected all toys. Great story rpg.
Rising Zan The Samurai Gun Man is a the first DMC's grandpa, fight me.
Musashi has epic bgm
Was Crash Bash popular? Nobody ever mentions it and its great
I need something new to play! Almost done with the last remnant for now, any suggestions?
I’ve been going through Dragon Quest 11 on switch, which has been a blast! Octopath traveler is also on offer at the moment mate if you fancy that, great RPG!
@@thatvideogamesshow that's a good shout. I might just pick it up! Love the content mate always a great watch!
I've never seen Octopath Traveler so low before, I just had to get it lol
MUSASHI was hidden gem? it's my fav game on PSX. loved the ost
Donkey Kong Country 2 for PS1.

Try playing thread of fate from square soft
*clears throat* RISING ZAN!!!SAMURAI GUNMAN!!! RISING ZAN!!! JOHNNY NO MORE!!!
Galerians and Saiyuki
That intro music is amazing, can you name it?
It's a donkey kong song but idk which...
Song at 6:50?
It‘s from Guardian‘s Crusade, Cave of Fear
My local retro games store has brave fencer musashi but it's 200 bucks 😭
@@He-Man_Master_of_the_Universe oh its worth more now.
I would like to play Brave Fencer Musashi in ps4 as a remake.
Brave fencer is not a hidden gem tho. It's very popular back in those times
Stop making Musashi more expensive than it already is! 😫
All of these games are free if u know how to download ps1 games into ur psp/psvita
legend of dragoon is an awesome ps1 game
I still play Jumping Flash a lot
Sure, i will check out these games....when im rich.
Guardian's Crusade ❤

Technomage! best game ever
TRAP GUNNER
These r like way hidden gems!
Thanks for watching!
@@thatvideogamesshow thanks 4 the reply!
Whst about Hooters Racing?🤣🤮
I remember playing a game with a guy using a wip and guns I think and you had to fight skeletons and I remember a battle against a skeleton dinosaur
But I can't remember the name
Does someone knows it? If I look in google it shows castlevania but I don't think it is because castlevania is in 2d and this game was in 3d
Great video. I only knew 2 games on this list but they all seem great
Thanks for watching!
Jumping flash bites, can't stand that game
Is that DKC2 in the intro music?
Good ear!
