Fantastic video and explanation mate, keep these videos up. So many convoluted explanations out there, but you have made it very simple. On another note, there are many car computers that have trouble reading Maserati settings accurately, even if they are suppossed too. I have seen some articles online were owners have rendered their cars undribable trying to set the Kiss Point/ PIS on new and used clutches with Launch and other Scanners.

Hello Adrian, thank you very much for the great video. I have a 2005 Maserati Quattroporte Duoselect. I also have the Autel Ap200. For me the diagnosis only comes into the transmission control unit. Motor control does not work.
Thank you very much for creating this video. Was able to determine clutch wear on a 2007 Quattroporte. With an odometer reading of 51,225 miles, I’m showing 34.5% clutch wear (or 64.5% clutch material left). I’m in the states, so all my figures were in inches, not mm, but of course the formula works just the same. I used an Autel MK808 scan tool. My “closed clutch position/new clutch” value was in a slightly different category on the scan tool. Thank you again!
Thanks Adrian - I bought the scanner via your link. Checked my 2007 QPV Sport GT and it reads as 16.9mm, 20.97mm so I get that to 78% worn at 82.5k. Not bad, previous owner had car since new and used for long European trips. I’ll keep track of it and see how my style of driving changes it. Do you have another other tips tricks that we can use the Autel for. Thanks for the videos.

Hello, I has been suffering with the invalid clutch and gearbox read out parameters with Bosc KTS 250 and Launch x431. As I looked for the F1 gearbox is mouted to Alfa 8C and Ferrari 430 driven by hardware version of the gearbox ECU CFC301 contoler. So under Ferrari 430 CFC301 I found more parameters and setup possibilites. As far as I know the Maserati (GT and the Quatroporte ) could be equipped with 2 different marelli version (Sofast 2 CFC231 and sofast 3+ CFC301) The earliest version probably more clutch consumer. And correction are welcome .
Hi Adrian ive just hast to change some lines on my f1 pump and having problems with it not always going in gear now tried bleeding manually it does help have you had to change any lines on your f1 pump yet. Regards Domenico

Hi Adrian I hope my findins can help other people in your group. So it started off I had a f1 pump hose that was split and leaking and guess what it always changed gears and didn't play up. Well this is where the trouble started I replaced hoses and refilled the system and pump worked but no gears so I vacuum bleed the system it would get gears and after a 1km it wouldn't anymore🤨 after sever bleeds like this it did get a little better but not much and I don't have a scanner to do this I've ordered what Adrian uses. So this is how to bleed without a scanner you will need .5 to 1lt of oil spare you need to be in neutral one person under the car to bleed and one in the car to select gears so start in neutral open bleeder and select 1st close bleeder and select neutral then open bleeder and select 1st again close bleeder and top up oil back in neutral and open bleeder select reverse close bleeder and neutral open bleeder and select reverse close bleeder and neutral top up reservoir repeat these steps till you're been through about .5lt of fluid and no air in the system be very patient always keep your reservoir full or you'll need to start from scratch good luck maserati friends 😊

In my 20s I worked for an Alfa Romeo dealership and have driven many Selespeed cars with effectively the same robotised clutch system as the Duoselect/F1. I know how to drive them with feathered throttle to smooth out the gear changes. I was curious to wonder if you’ll be attempting the clutch replacement yourself?
Hi Matt, there is definitely a knack to driving them and I find gear changes pretty smooth. I may have a crack at doing the clutch. It’s a fairly big job - I heard around 10 hours. That said I’ve got lots of work on and other projects, so I’ll see when it needs doing.
Afternoon, I can reset the service light on my 06 QP. You need to make sure the correct date and time is set on the car. PIS I believe so, but so haven’t done any detailed investigation into it. Congrats on buying a great car 😀.
For what it is the Autel does quite a lot. You can change parameters, engine service light reset etc. My clutch wear % is high so I expect it will need doing soon.
Hi, my Quatroporte (2005) for some reason is running very hi on engine revolution. I'm talking about almost 3k rev at only 50 mph on the 6 gear. I've seen on youtuve videos that other Maserati don't even reach 1,900 rev at 55mph on 6 gear but my car every single gear is very hi on revolution, feels like every gear reach hi rev with little gas and the transmissions its not slipping or showing any trouble signs. I just bought the car and don't have any previous experience with Maserati. I can't drive over 50mph because the engine is too high on revolutions!!! Any help will be appreciated.
Newby to Maserati here , but I think I am missing something: as far as clutch wear is concerned the $100 Autel does as much as the $1000 Xtool or the $20000 Lenardo. Is that really true?
Hi, I'm not sure how example exactly the Xtool and Leonardo exactly compare but I have heard that there are some specific things that have to be done by the Leonardo machine. To date I haven't come across anything I have not been able to do using the Autel and I know there are lots of features it has and I haven't used yet. For £60 I wouldn't be without it. It has saved me a small fortune and all the hassle if taking it to my Indy or dealer.
I have Maserati gts f1 transmission. Installed new clutch plate but bleed process not completed. Oil not coming out from bleeder nipple and clutch not engaging 😢 what to do pleas please help.1

@@brendawg8002 I purposely bought an older QP with Duoselect over a newer one. I was wary when I bought it but have done lots of work and learned lots about the car. There are some things I won't do, but the majority of maintenance things I've been able to do. I have found it's a car with lots of niggles and it's frustrating at times. Diagnostics software is a must.

There is a lot you can do if mechanically / electrically minded. Some complex things I don’t do as I don’t have a full garage setup just yet.
