I purchased the Bosch GWS8-45 grinder and it says in the manual, that it’s not meant for cutting. Is this true? I thought all angle grinders do cutting with a cutting wheel.
It's because the machine is built for grinding purpose and so that the guard that we gets along with it is of type 27, which is not at all safe for cutting. The cutting wheel we use are of type 1, so we need to get type 1 guard for cutting purpose. And in addition to that the user need to be experienced to use the machine safely with proper gloves and face shield. So inorder to avoid any legal dispute companies have clearly mentioned not to use it for cutting.
@@BehindTheClutter My coworker has both a Bauer and Hercules grinder from HF, with type 27 guard listed for their grinders and they can be used for cutting per the tools specifications.
It's doesn't matter which Angle grinder you use. If you are using Type 27 safety guard while cutting, it's not safe for cutting. And another reason is that we should never use toothed blades on Angle grinder for cutting. It could slip and cause accidents. And as I said before type 27 won't provide protection while using cutting wheel. But having some protection is better than no protection at all so I used the one I have.

Black and Decker is a value for money package. But parts availability in case of a repair is difficult for Black and Decker compared to Bosch. If that's not a problem you can go for Black and Decker.
