As far as "clone houses", my 2023 favorites are: Apex: Fragrance World Emir Celestial: Paris Corner Exclusif Tobac: Maison Alhambra Vintage Radio: Lataffa My worst pickups were all for the same exact reason: they're amroxan bombs and I hate ambroxan! ... There should be a warning when a fragrance is like 50% ambroxan. Ambroxan smells disgusting to me but everyone else in the world seems to love it since it's the basis of all blue fragrances and Sauvage and Invictus are basically almost entirely ambroxan. Star Men Nebula: FW Glacier le Noir: Maison Alhambra Victorioso Victory: MA Mocha Wood: FW
Khamrah Qahwa was a let down on my first wearing because it was a skin scent before the second hour, but I filled a travel atomizer and let the bottle macerate. I ignored the atomizer for two weeks and then sprayed a few sprays before bed a few days ago... And in just two weeks it became a bomb! It was still going strong 7 hours in when I had to use the restroom. In fact it was almost chokingly strong. It did die down around the ninth hour or so.
@@Gizmofurious everyone kept saying that so when I tried it the first time and it died so quickly I was really frustrated. This is my first time having to macerate a bottle. I am going to let it sit till the end of the month. Curious if it will be even better than that atomizer got.
Maceration is such a cool concept. Thanks for sharing! Also I noticed with the original, it’s so powerful I get nasal fatigue and my nose almost becomes numb after wearing it for a while haha
@@commonscentsreviews I considered that but I tested it with my girlfriend on my second wear. Had sprayed it about an hour before seeing her and the scent was already weak to her nose when I picked her up. She loved the smell when I reapplied it.
I've seen Guess 1981 Los Angeles before but I cant recall seeing that indigo one. Sounds interesting so I'm definitely gonna keep my eye out for it. I love finding those rack store blues that completely shatter my expectations. I know it sounds Krazy but if y'all ever see Hollister Festival Nite I highly recommend it. It's like a $15-$20 blueish fragrance that works day or night all spring/summer long. It's so good that I stopped buying cool water/D&G light blue/Polo deep blue cuz I always preferred Festival Nite 🤘🏼
Guess 1981 Indigo has been my summer hidden gem cheapie since it came out. Fig and coconut and really smells of quality for the price. It's in a class of its own and doesn't smell like everything else.
@@ProudGirlDadX2 yea it's a watery fig coconut beachy vibe. It's the only fragrance I know of that combines fig with coconut. So unique and very nice quality juice for so cheap. Like the video says: only drawback is it's not long lasting. 4-5 hours until skin scent.
Honestly all the regretful pickups I've gotten have mostly been clones: Fragrance World Aftermath Fragrance World Euphoric Oud Fragrance World Moonlight Night The One and Only Armaf Club De Nuit Milestone Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Eu Intense (I already had Versace Pour Homme, AHSEE, Edition Blanche, Dylan Blue, Voyage, Iconic, and Profondo)
Guess 1981 Indigo for Men is a great fragrance. It's seductive while being very aquatic and pleasing with that coconut and iris. Since it's got some sweetness to it, I think the ladies (or anyone for that matter) are going to really like it!
Jajajaja you should write "whatch till the end" 😂. I absolutely agree with you about Ajayeb Dubai; I bought like 50 fragrances in 2023 and that is the worse. Too busy, with pineapple, coffee, butterscotch, all in your face at the same time. It somehow gets better on clothes the day after, but I don't know... Thanks for your videos!! P.s. Noooo why are you trying to break my enjoyment of Wajood with bacon, lol. Seriously though, I guess it's pretty divisive. And yup, TF is bringing back Oud Minerale, it's out right now actually in the "main" collection. It's basically the same, maybe with a slightly less dark edge. Love Wet Stone. Amouroud make great stuff. My biggest blind buy discovery last year was late in December and it's a niche brand: Pana Dora. Imperial Wood is a crazy beautiful, pungent fruity spicy oud in the vein of Red Tobacco. :)
Great video! Yesterday I was considering some of my best and worst pick ups of 2023 coincidentally. I think my top 3 worst blind buys are: Afnan 9pm (JPG Ultra Male clone, its just too cloying) Kenzo Homme Intense EDT (nothing special about it. Fresh, but I don’t see the hype) Lattafa Amethyst (it smells pretty nice, but I rather just smell like something else in my collection) I’m hoping I can sell them for half-price and get something back lol if not, they will make great air fresheners 😂
Now my top blind buy pickups were: (in no particular order) -Dusk - The Woods Collection (Layton clone) -Suits - Fragrance World (Tuxedo clone) - Immortal - Jean Lowe (I’immensite clone) - Jack of Clubs - Fragrance World (YSL Blue Electrice clone) Fav designer pickups: (not a blind buy) JPG Le Beau Le Parfum Valentino Uomo BiR Intense Chanel - Allure Homme Sport EE Carolina Herrera - Bad Boy Cobalt Givenchy - Gentleman Boisee
The worst blind buys for me in 2023 is definitely Caline - sweet appeal. It legitimately smells like a urine soaked baby diaper. Sweet, baby power, mixed with urine. The citrus in it goes absolutely putrid. And then Rebelle by Rihanna. It smells like rotting fruit and very cheap coffee, and very low quality cacao. I get so nauseated every time I smell it. It's absolutely disgusting. Unpopular opinion. But Nebras by lattafa. I liked it at first. But the mix of berry and chocolate very quickly turned to a hate. I just don't like the way it smells on my skin. Kate Spade in full bloom. It is the most Nauseating white bar soapy, rose fragrance. It's absolutely disgusting. I ended up using it as a bathroom spray because I just couldn't deal with it. Another that most won't agree with. Love by Sophia Vergara. To me, it is nothing special. It's so weak and completely lackluster. Now some of my best buys of 2023 was definitely Al Harmain Amber Oud Gold edition. That is literally a masterpiece. I honestly see why it got the hype it got. It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Another absolute beauty, Swiss Arabians - Shaghaf Oud Aswad. It has to be one of the most gorgeous rose/oud fragrances I've ever encountered. And I love that it's actually strong and projects like crazy. It is just sooo beautiful. Ooooh, another blind buy that was absolutely fantastic. Jennifer Aniston - chapter one. 😍 It's sandy, creamy, woody, beachy goodness! Without having any coconut. It's seriously slept on. It's so gorgeous. And lastly is probably Bright Peach by Maison Alhambra, I have NOTHING that smells like that fragrance. And I've tried/have nothing that smells like it either. It's boozy, thick, sweet, unique, and just completely different.
Just a word of advice brother. Either put the name of the fragrance on your screen or shoot a short video of the fragrance. Because you're not showing the fragrance closer to camera.
