It could either go one of two ways, if Nintendo say “Yes, it is canon”, then it will likely get Nintendo into trouble, possibly leading to them having to ban Off the Hook or censor them
But if they say “No, It’s not canon” the fandom is probably going to riot over it, so it’s pretty much been left up to them
It seems like Nintendo shouldn’t confirm or deny it cus whatever they do it’s gonna piss people off so I guess they’re leaving it up to the fans to decide.
Do you think it’s easy handling their fans? They’ve shipped them since the Octo Expansion and won’t stop until either Nintendo puts their foot down on it like they did with Sidon and Link from Tears of the Kingdom or confirm it and then all heck breaks loose.
Nintendo is just gonna leave it up to interpretation. If you don’t want it to be, you can cope that they’re straight since they never explicitly state it. If you want it to be real there’s plenty of proof. No one gets mad.
@@ReadilyAvailibleChomper Exactly, I goes it’s like for they can’t have certain splatfesrs or DO certain things during splatfesrs, like FrostyFest having more of a winters theme, rather then being outright Christmas themed or calling SpringFest being called “SproingFest, rather then something like “EasterFest”. Although it would be cool, remember, they need to try and be respectful and cater to those who don’t celebrate it or cultures that celebrate it differently than others, but they still make it subtle and obvious enough that you can still interpret it so.

My theory is that everyone in the splatoon universe already knows that Pearl and Marina are together so there is no need to state the fact in dialogue 😅. Cause they have literally said EVERYTHING exept that they are dating.
