I have a "Connect Scale" that did the exact same thing. It had gotten damp a few days prior. I put it in a bowl of rice for a few days to pull out any moisture and it works like a charm again!

Remove the belly hook and catch more fish. You could also replace the rear treble witha single hook. Much better in weedy conditions.
