Singleness doesn’t feel like a gift but also like the current season of singleness is such a gift. I am so grateful to not be in a relationship currently but like also like I wanna be married someday. Don’t wanna end up with a bad marriage because I rushed it. So I see you who are single and struggling, particular as a woman it is harder being single. And the church sometimes doesn’t do a great job of portraying single women (like Phoebe was probably single and serving in ministry). Keep going and pursuing God first and walk in the calling He has on your life. He loves you guys and sees you, and so do I.
4 mins in "just get married" advice....well the problem is when NO ONE wants to marry you! And when its tough to even find a date, there's a huge number of HOOPS you have to go through in order to get to a place where you can consider marrying someone.
For some reason the church leaders keep banging on about marriage in their church services, never mentioning singleness or its benefits. Its always from a negative standpoint ie you need to be married to be complete. No I am complete in Christ. Now we have that out of the way I am sick of being single. I have been saved nearly 25 years and never married and have no children. The church I attended when I was saved had very little in the way of single ladies. But the married couples would pray for God to bring her to me. That's like the opposite to evangelism as we are to go out. The church has now closed down after 40 years. God never brought that single lady in. I now attend a mega church here in West Yorkshire. Hopefully, I will find the one. Like Isaac sent out to find his wife. His wife Rachel. I do think that as a man in church it's quite intimidating to see someone you like and they are in a group and it's so hard! Going to church doesn't make you a Christian same as going to a burger bar doesn't make you a hamburger.
It terms of feeling intimidated, I would say just be yourself, authentic and casually respectful (so no cheesy pick up lines or lyrics etc.). So if you do see someone in a group you can introduce yourself to the whole group, start a little conversation e.g., name, how are you, how long have you been attending this church? , I'm fairly new and I'm trying to meet people here etc.... and whenever you see them after that you can greet them. Just build a friendship and a friendship group or groups. It will be less awkward that way.
There is a prejudice in our churches: that married people is wiser, more level headed and better christians. And is really not like that.

10mins in. NO as I man, I do NOT want to have to chase women, I WANT to be chased!
I know what you mean. But women want to be pursued it is what attracts them as its masculine.
