I'm a bigger girl and I do not agree with encouraging overweight people by saying 'love the skin you're in'...it's all well and good when you are younger but, like me, as you get older (I'm now 46) you can form some serious health issues. I have never been a drinker YET my liver failed last year due to a long term fatty liver caused by being over weight. How can being fat be positive? It wasn't positive when I had to make plans for my funeral, all while my children cried..it wasn't positive as my skin turned so yellow that my children cried just looking at me. There are no positives to being overweight, well, other than the skinny folk making excuses for us to not have to lose weight. Yet, we punish alcoholics and we say dreadful things about people who smoke and ban them from places?? Being fat is far more dangerous than smoking!

When you are fat, you only hurt yourself.
Smoking, drinking alcohol and drugs can affect others too, from passive smoking, drink driving and an increase in crime. Being fat doesn't cause any of these issues.
I know people who are fit who have health issues. My non-smoking brother, who was weight-conscious and had the occassional drink, still died from cancer.
If it's your time, there's not much you can do about it. You could get hit by a bus tomorrow.
My journey into being fat, was hypothyroidism which goes hand in hand with liver problems. But because of ever changing blood reference ranges for the thyroid most people don’t get diagnosed.
People need to learn the difference between what you can control & what you can't. Weirdly, many make fun of guys who are shirt, but you can't rant change that much is genetics (I'm not going out of my way & standing up for them, but I think it's wrong), yet now you can't call someone fat off they're shoving their face with cake & coke. Not everyone can be skinny or tall etc, otherwise it would make the point redundant, sorry you didn't get lucky with the supermodel genes, but being genetics is another thing. Overweight & fat are a bit different. Anyway, on a personal level I hope you improve what you can to get better, however slow it might be
