I love that Ben was Cole Sprouse's first role that he didn't act opposite or share with, his twin, Dylan. Shame that Ben randomly disappeared in Season 8.
We never knew what happened to him after that.
It annoys me that we never saw Ben and Emma meet.

Deborah Jo Rupp, who played the role of the teacher/wife of Phoebe’s brother Frank, went on to star as Kitty Foreman in “That 70s Show”.
Phoebe's brother is a huge star too now. He has been in so many movies since Friends. I don't think he was in alot of things b4 Friends. I had forgotten about his wife being on the 70s show.
She was a working actress who got steady work in bit parts. She wasn't famous and certainly wasn't a star until she got one of the leading roles in "That 70s Show".
Friends was a gateway for so many actors. Love the show. I totally forgot about Emily Proctor!! Thanks for taking me back to so many wonderful memories. 😊

I'm so happy that these guest stars went on to make it big, but my all time favorite is Tom Selleck. Of course there were tons more guest stars that were already famous when they did friends. I do really like this list

It was somehow inspiring for me to see these actors and actresses' long journeys before their big break. Melora Hardin even had to wait 11 years from friends to the office, and that's not counting the years she spent before. Imagine how many rejections from auditions they got. Really shows no matter what our career path, celebrity or not, it's always hard. Sure they got a good paycheck once they're up there, but the journey before isn't exactly a picnic. Some even got their big break at much older age. Reminds me of Joey, only more brutal for a lot more people (and easier for some of the others ig but that's beside the point)

I would argue that Jon Favreau and Anna Faris were already famous. Favreau had already made Swingers, which was a huge breakout role for him and Vince Vaughn. Faris had been in the Scary Movie franchise which was very successful. Even Leah Remini was on Saved By the Bell, though that was not the big exposure she would get from King of Queens.

I'm guessing Hugh Laurie was excluded because he was already pretty famous by the time he showed up as the stranger on the plane next to Rachel going to London.

Jane Lynch appeared in different shows before she became super famous, for instance, she appeared as a nurse in Gilmore Girls and then she had a recurring character in a show of the same creator (Amy Sherman-Palladino) called The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel as the commedian Sophie Lennon (after Glee's appearance, she was already known by then). Though talking about appearing in two different shows from the same creator, she wasn't the only one, even Kelly Bishop herself who played a main character in Gilmore Girls, Emily Gilmore, plays the role of a match maker named Benedetta for three episodes in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and the opposite thing, Alex Borstein who plays Susie Myerson in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, plays two different small roles in Gilmore Girls: Drella a harpist, and Miss Selene, a stylist. Fun fact! She was previously cast as Sookie Saint James, but she wasn't available at the time, she was already in another show or something (that's what I can remember for different interviews), but she was available for some small roles that Amy created for her. And, who ended up getting that role, nowadays is a mega movie star, who started in fact in Gilmore Girls and then got really really famous, I'm talking about no other than Melissa McCarthy.
Having said that, and going back to Friends, yes, some of the people on this list I remember, like Ellen Pompeo for instance, others were like woooow I didn't remember that they were on Friends for an episode like Jason George, or Emily Osment😲, and then some people that I didn't reccognise at all like, Michael Vaughn, I mean, I did know something about the show Alias and Jennifer Garner but I haven't watched the show (yet) so I don't know him.
And well, this video was interesting, a next interesting video would be listing every actor that has appeared both in Gilmore Girls and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, liek Lisa Weil, Chris Eigeman, Sean Gunn (Kirk🙌🏽), Milo Ventimiglia, etc.
I would definitely watch and like that video, and maybe comment as well.

For Emily Osment a role I can always remember the 2011 absolutely amazing but e.i. depressing movie. Cyber bully, the only movie or show to ever make me cry. And I balled my eyes because I dealt with that stuff and dealt with suicide.

Stranger Things star Winona Ryder had a role on Friends as Melissa Warburton, a girl who Rachel kissed.
More well known (both a well known actor prior to appearing on the show and a well known part within the show), but I have to mention Tom Selleck as Richard Burke. Sure, he was the original Magnum P.I. almost a decade before first appearing on Friends (I know there should be a but here, but I just don't have one).

I'm surprised you guys didn't add Hugh Laurie on this list. I had to do a double take after realizing it was him. He plays the airplane guy next to rachel when she's on her way to stop Emily and Ross's wedding.
Laurie was already famous in the UK for a lot of comedy roles, so that’s probably why he was left off this list. An honourable mention would have been fitting, however, as American audiences would definitely have the appropriate reaction rewatching his appearance.
I think Elle Fanning and Hugh Laurie should have been on list.
