Django is such a Legend of pool. Plays with a Jacoby cue, and a solid maple shaft with an Elkmaster tip. It just goes to show that all the hybrids, carbon, and low deflection is not necessary for a Champ! I love it. Next time let's see what my fellow Dane, Mickey Krause, has in his bag. Thanks for the video, Karlito🔥
Django is always someone to look up to. I know I did so many years ago now, 17, 18 years go now I believe it was in the 2000s when I first watched his matches in the 2002 WPC and the final with Strickland that mesmerized me. The clash of his fluency and creativity and Pearl´s killer instinct and pure shotmaking. My game got developed through imitating Busta and his stroke, him and Pearl two of the greatest of all time. And it is funny he doesn´t jump nowadays but back then he was one of the pioneers of the jump cue, the first wooden ones. Too bad he´s not on the circuit anymore, understandable but too bad, at least these bigger events. He could hold these guys no problem. Thank you.
Love this one Karl. Such a legend in the game, no one has come close to his style of play, along with the results. Great guy and so humble, along with his 'pare' (friend/mate) Efren 🇵🇭
a lot of players have natural ability but what they lack like most of us is the wealth 0f pool knowledge that players like Django have makes it so hard to compete with even at his age that's what makes him a legend
Ive been fancying a 3 seconds bag. Also everyone hating on carbon...idky i love the carbon because i love a really stiff shaft. Thats why for wood i usually like bigger ones
I find it unusual that he still uses powder and sandpaper…don’t forget- gloves are not new. My Filipino mentor 40 years ago tried to get me to use one…now it’s standard. I honestly didn’t think anyone would still be literally shaving their shaft down like l did with my first cue…
I didn't know Bustamante switched from Bear cues to Jacoby damn. I thought he still used Bear cues. I wonder why the switch. But the man still plays great nonetheless
I think Mike Dechaine beat Bustamante's break record or got close to it. I know it's in the 30s for sure. Karl hopefully you can get Mike on the channel sometime
@@dzarren I like 2k or 3k. They are not really abrasive enough to remove wood, so you will not thin your shaft/ferrule over time. Grip firmly and move fast to quickly build up heat…the dirt, chalk, etc will get pushed out of the wood and can be wiped away off. Then hit it again for a nice burnish. No need to switch between grits or keep leather around for burnishing or anything. A single piece of 3000 is all you need
Think he means standard maple shaft, not spliced like a predator shaft. The butt if clearly full splice from at least two types of wood so don't think he's talking about that.
@@michaeljohnnillo1038 I see. So can the standard solid maple shafts that are really whippy like his be low deflection? Just has to be a very well selected piece of maple blank and the right ferrule/tip materials, dimensions, etc?
Wel if you give to someone that doesn't how to play a 10000 $ cue still doesn't know how to play.. When give to a pro 100$ cue still play good... When give to a artist a 100$ brush he will drow something... If you give to someone that doesn't know how to drow a brush 10.000$ still he wouldn't do nothing.. If you give to a pro a quitar 1000$ he will play good... If you give to someone that doesn't know how to play a quitar 10.000$ still doesn't change anything...
Yes! I hate jump shots in general. They are necessary as a last resort, but nowadays folks at pool clubs abuse jumping to the point they can't even make simple masse or kick shots. Stop damaging the cloth god damn it!
Old school style, no carbon fiber, no jump cue, no glove, only natural talent 👏👏👏
Exactly.
Jump cues are killing the beauty of this sport
@@keykey1401 yeah, they should ban jump shots in the reyes cup. Good way of honoring efren’s game.
🙌
Im from dominican republic and im looking for a good pool cue but not expensive.. can you recomend one for me please?
Such a humble nice man. But definitely a killer when at the table! Much respect for Django!
True
Francisco Bustamante is my favourite player of all time. Such a lovely guy. A true legend ❤

Django is always such a classy guy. And a *beast* at the table.
Django is still probably a top 10 one pocket player, and not too shabby at the other games. Legend.
Thank you so much Karl!!!! Great video! Love them all!
My pleasure!!
I like it, when the old guys stay old school.
Sure.
But I'm guessing "old school" players have, at least, tried these
carbon fiber shafts and different chalks.
Bustamante my hero, thanks for the video Karl.
No problem 👍
Jacoby makes excellent cues. I love mine. Really cool that he plays with one too.
We know Efren is the goat but I like Francisco’s style a little more
Same
I like Django's stroke too . Different compare to other players
Great watch as always! One of the best to ever play the game & of course Francisco Bustamante.
Couldn't agree more!

Thanks 🤩
Actually, it doesn't matter what Django has in his pocket. He also plays with a broomstick😍 Thx for this video
Love this guy!

Id love to see that match between him & Archer.
I like Efren and Jose Parica but Django is my favorite filipino player
Big respect to Champ Django Bustamante one of the living legend, 🫡
Finally the one and only Django is on the channel
I got there hahaha
@KarlBoyesPoolLife haha yeah
I don’t know if it’s standard green but those tables look great!!
Thank you soo much Karl for this upload ❤❤❤
No problem 😊
Legend
Diddy been real quiet since this what's in the bag dropped
Django is a Great Player! Great Guy Also!
Love this guy! 👏👏👏
karl, i hope you could also interview lee van corteza thanks

I still technically shave it down but I use a very light touch with 800 grit and then use that white bottle of shaft silk. Smooth glide every time.
Hey karl! you should review the Rhino Retro Cue. A budget low deflection carbon cue
👍 Blue Diamond chalk just like Rotation Master use not sure he still use it i didn't pay attention chalk usage
True Legend ❤
Django has the most beautiful stroke in pool
Good work YARLO boyes
My favorite player
34 mph! faster than my rust bucket😂

He is a great man
Great video Karl. Thanks sir
Glad you enjoyed it
doesnt have a jump cue but when karl opens up his bag a jump cue falls out hahahahahha
Bustamante is the man!
So what does he clean his shaft with? Just different grades of sandpaper?
Yes sir
I like the BK3 shaft/BK2 Butt combo
Karl, do you know what he actually uses to clean it, when he says "I shape it" ? Thank you
…he showed it last. Sandpaper.
He uses Mezz tip tool
Thanks for doing this Karl! Looking forward to AJ Manas and Mickey Krause one day
You and me both!
I think Mike Dechaine beat Bustamante's break record or got close to it. I know it's in the 30s for sure. Karl hopefully you can get Mike on the channel sometime
Maybe 🤔
@KarlBoyesPoolLife 👍
Found the diddy oil 😅
Anyone know what grit that sandpaper would be? Surely over 2000?
no just 1k

Karls a strange breed.
django!
Sir carlo biado next pls . His using carbon fiber shaft now
Great suggestion!
@KarlBoyesPoolLife their shaft is so expensive we cannot afford it.
Favor pls can u ask the price 🙏

Head over to seyberts.com there’s a massive choice there
When you play outside…well…l don’t
What was his explanation on why he could not cut the balls with carbon?
Too much english. Low deflection.
What does he mean he plays with a one piece cue?
Not sure if the wood of the shaft and butt came from one piece of wood?
He's talking about the shaft. Predator shafts are popular here in the PH. But Django plays a one piece shaft meaning no splices.
Think he means standard maple shaft, not spliced like a predator shaft. The butt if clearly full splice from at least two types of wood so don't think he's talking about that.
For example mezz shafts are one piece shafts

Baby oil is crazy work
Is Busti wearing hearing aids?
No sir
