Thank you Dr. J Resendez,, after many months of diligent practice. and watching your TH-cam videos, now I'm able to get Altissimo G, G#, and A on my Paul Mauriat 300 UL Baritone Saxophone. Greetings from Montreal Canada. Just goes to prove that your teaching also reaches far away people. Thank you again, Sir.
Thank you! You have a great tone and I appreciate that you are playing at a controlled volume. I will work at this over time using your post as a reference.
This video is very helpful my altissimo e and f were a little wonky. That’s to this I can also hit altissimo g but 6th octave instead of 5th. I can still only gliss into the note but it’s getting there
@@notrecognizedyt739 W I played clarinet for 6 years ands switched to bari last August and everyone thinks I,be been playing longer than a year lol and I'm trying to expand my range and practice scales
what do you think of these fingerings? G - the teardrop shape above the b key (idk the name) G# - 1 and 3 on the left hand with side c and low f key. doesnt really work for me so ill use his fingerings A - i use 2 and 3 on the left hand but sometimes also include 4, 5, and 6 to make it flatter Bb - i use A but remove 2 B - i use side D with 3 C - same fingering but with side Eb C# - same as C but with side F D - i overblow G
I’m a tenor player who just got a bari two months ago. I could hit the G easily by rolling up from 1 and 2 to just 1. Couldn’t find the other ones except D popped right out. I’ll keep trying.
@Paul Huffman going from 1 and 2 to 1 just came out as a altissimo C sharp for me?!? Sorry I’m a ninth grader and I’ve gotten everything but a g to come out. From a to f is fine but g and g sharp just aren’t happening
I have my Bari in hand watching this and playing… trying. I’ve been playing Bari for 10 years now and can’t really hit altissimo at all. I try and it just cracks or sounds super broken with other overtones overlapping. I just don’t know what I can practice to help
As soon as I heard "many of these altissimo fingerings require a high F# key" I thought its time to click off this video it wont be good! 😂. A minute later I hear the G fingering and was proven right!

Great video, this video reminded me to practice my bari
I’m not even a bari player at my school (technically) but i picked up my bari and now i’m the only person who can hit G# on bari at my school
@Keanan ?
@Keanan huh? i’m confused?
I played alto freshman year and I played Bari like a week ago. I can go really high now and even got overtone glissandos. Bari is my favorite sax now.
Lol I can hit G and A but not G# I find it so weird
