      It may not be beautiful but a simple splash of colours makes such a difference.
      Our favourite is either Doha or Changi. What's yours?

      I'm glad to hear it wasn't just me. The Iberia of 10 years ago has changed a lot and seems everything from the food to the cabin crew is a joy.
      We must do a long haul route at some point 💚

    The distribution of flights in T4 is not exactly as explained. T4 is normally for Schengen flights and T4S for non-Schengen flights, meaning, if you fly to Morocco or the UK, you'll go to T4S, since these are non-Schengen destinations. All that regardless of the type of the aircraft, be it a wide or not.

    • @liftoffandtravel
      @liftoffandtravel  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Useful to know. Just from experience when we caught an A320 to the UK it was from the main terminal. The wide bodies on the same route have always been T4S.
      Thanks for letting us know 👍

      "EL GRAN" was truly a FIRST CLASS. Remember only 6 seats......said remember....It was situated on the upper deck. You have been serviced by your "own" steward. trained for EL GRAN pax. Food was delicious. They offerd eco, bix, and first on the B-747. Think that plane was the pride of Spain. It was always something extraordinary. It could happen that you did end up with the mentioned steward in a restaurant he recommended...somewhere.....EL GRAN was just like a FAMILY. And I heard that ...well sometimes...some woman-man, guy-guy, woman-woman relationships did develop. One hundred years ago flying was unique.

    Nice review! I've flown Iberia a few times, either had a good experience or mediocre at best experiences. I would love to try out their Airbus A350 in business class sometime, but I did get to fly this in a "Premium Economy" seat, which was nice in its own right.

    • @liftoffandtravel
      @liftoffandtravel  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Jett 👍 how did you rate Premium Economy. I've tried it on the same route LHR to MAD. Only thing I didn't like which is cost cutting they don't divide it from economy now. Makes it feel less premium.

    • @JettTyler17
      @JettTyler17 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@liftoffandtravel Given I did it on a short haul route (MAD-LHR), it was nice to get the better seat for free, I wasn't too worried about being segregated from Economy, I would kind of expect that on a JFK or BOG route from Madrid though. I was very pleased on that flight.

      @@JettTyler17 how were the cabin crew? Yes agreed with the A350 noticed that the J product on the A330 is slightly angled I guess the cabin isn't as wide. I would imagine this means the premium and economy isn't quite as wide to.

    Nice video, the RSU are for all non Schengen flights. I can say after working and living in Spain and in aviation, the Spanish don’t do proactiveness and be careful being too nice or they don’t trust you. Better to be assertive and to the point, it’s more appreciated. The A330 can be more appreciated in economy than the A350 due to the seat layout arrangement, but in business class both are the same.

    • @liftoffandtravel
      @liftoffandtravel  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the feedback Peter. Interesting with the A330 as we did once enjoy the A340 and it feels pinch in Business on the A330.
      Good points, I worked in customer service once and was always wary of someone overly nice. They usually wanted me to try and bend the rules 😂
      Have you travelled on them in the last few years? Do you think the service has improved?

    • @peterfinn6098
      @peterfinn6098 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey thanks for your feedback too! My previous role at Airbus meant a lot of travel so incase you were wondering. I would say though even being a little nice is wary in Spain but due to their history they have social issues in general since a lot of scars still around. I haven’t flown long haul with them for a while and I would recommend not to have many expectations from them. The service to London still looks the same including a hot meal and better than the service on BA and some other EU airlines for sure. What I do like about Iberia is how they serve a gin and tonic. They usually will bring out a large bottle and continue pouring until you decide it’s sufficient, unlike those little plastic bottles. When i think it’s also more sustainable! Long haul they are also good in business and the food and wines are Spanish, so it’s rather tasty out of Madrid. From Bogota and Quito on occasions it’s not great, Buenos Aires is always Argentine steak and dulce de leche dessert so its lovely. I think the worst right now is KLM. The last business flight this year in Europe was disappointing with no bread, no meat and wooden utensils, all served in this tiny box. Air France and Lufthansa still good business class offering. I avoid BA for certain reasons. Where is your next trip taking you to and which airlines you fancy? Did you work in customer service at the airport as I know that is a tough role needing plenty of patience lol

    I have flown short-haul Business Class on Iberia, BA and Lufthansa. Iberia is a clear winner because of its better food and legroom. BA comes a close second, with Lufthansa well behind (it was an operational upgrade - Lufthansa's prices are very high and poor value for money). Beware, however, that Iberia Express has a very poor business-class product - not worth it.

      I'm not always a great believer in Sky Trax. There were a few oddities in their choices.
      However Iberia was always known and from first hand experience as being a little poor on the customer service front. I also previously have a short haul flight where the crew weren't great.
      However! My recent flight with them was excellent. Well deserving of being recognised. Printed menus, chocolates, good food and a smiley, friendly crew. Has changed my previous perception.

    During Corona the Iberia wasn't good starting from food and they also didn't handle criticism very well, even though they agreed that it was very meager what the business class had to offer. I wrote them an email that for 1k € I will happily bring my food and water and they can give the rubbish food to the colombian sewer rodents after landing. Bwahhaaa. If the price is right I wont complain about a single thing.
