Agree totally. Seems Iberia staff handled things well and was not responsible for the behavior of another passenger. In Europe, businessmen class on one aisle aircraft is often exactly what you got. Standard economy seating but with the middle seat kept empty. No more legroom. No wider seat. Kind of a poor joke. I used miles to fly Business class in Oct/2022 to fly to Barcelona for the Wonder TA. My flight was technically on Finnair, which was outstanding from Seattle to Helsinki, and I had one of the famous Throne seats. I had to change planes to Barcelona, and although it was still Finnair, it was an Iberia plane to Barcelona. Same situation, a basic economy seat with middle seat blocked. My flight to Barcelona was 4 hrs, and we did get a meal. Not that great for Business class, but it was decent. It definitely wasn’t very comfortable for 4 hrs., but thankfully I didn’t come across any rude passengers.
Airbus 320a is my favorite plane with delta.. very comfy. The worst plane ever is CRJ 900 with delta connection!! The space so small not even a 5’2 person will have room!

Hi Jay, the business class experience you had on the intra-European flights is typical. I flew an intra-European flight on Lufthansa. The first 3 or 4 rows were considered business class. However, business class was not a separate cabin from economy (no curtain or wall separating the two). Like your flight, the middle seat was blocked with what looked like a tray table. I found that leg of my business class journey somewhat disappointing. Sorry about that strange woman. Some people just want to start trouble.

$258 for an economy class ticket from Paris to Madrid is a rip off. Iberia is part of the IAG group which includes British Airways. They have an air miles/loyalty program called AVIOS. I believe you can collect these in the US, and use them on domestic flights in the US on American/Alaska airlines as well as BA/Iberia for international flights. Collecting AVIOS makes flying much cheaper and the overall cost of travelling business less than the price of an economy ticket. I flew from London Gatwick to Madrid and returned to London Heathrow in October,. Economy class on the way out and Business on the way back (including lounge access at Madrid) for £50 +24,000 AVIOS. BA Club Europe although the same seat layout is a much better experience than Iberia btw. The food is very good for a short haul flight and you have champagne on tap.

That's usually how business class seats are on shorter flights. Some of the smaller planes don't have an actual business class cabin, so they just use economy and block out the middle seat. You still get lounge access and booze, and depending on the length/airline a meal. Majority of long haul flights have lay flat seats with each seat have direct aisle access.

My worst business class experience was Iberia too (again nothing to do with the airline). Long haul Madrid to Rio de Janeiro, spacious seat, great food and ok entertainment (though not a patch on Emirates entertainment). The issue was about 5 drunken wealthy Russians (jewellery and Rolexes on display) who drank entire tumblers of neat whisk, one after the other. When the stewardess (a really petite sweet Spanish lady) said she couldn’t serve them anymore one of these entitled thugs, now blind drunk, got up towering above her yelling that her job was to serve them. Two of us got up to offer her support and the male steward appeared and he was being yelled at too. The steward told the guy if he didn’t calm down the captain would contact Rio and he would be removed by the authorities. This defused the situation somewhat but the atmosphere remained ugly until we landed. The absolute worst people I’ve ever encountered travelling.
I think you were within your rights to film your experience as you saw fit to record every step of the way and we thank you for your boldness in doing so ,you are not wrong ,you are not the only one who has had a bad experience with iberia ,my best friend paid a but load to travel with her 2 young children from Alicante connecting flight at Madrid then a 10 hour flight to Miami ,she shopped for months buying all the outfits for herself and especially for her 2 daughters ,cost a mini fortune ,only to arrive at Miami to learn that iberia had not put there luggage on the Miami flight so they are with the same clothes as when i waved them off from Spain ,iberia have been so irresponsible,tje cruise ship have called iberia 3 times in the same say only to have that person cut them off .a once in a live time trip to be ruined by iberia not being professional
They were promised that iberia would send there luggage in Puerto Rico ,but MSC cruise line who have been so kind ,said we are trying to communicate with iberia but iberia on arrival at Miami airport there office was closed my friend returned the next day ,again their office was closed no representative availabile no one to be seen .you would think that iberia agents would be there to help their customers ie if luggage is lost or delayed ,on the other side of the world ,so bad a mother travelling with her 2 young daughters ,you would think that someone from tje iberia airline would be in Miami airport to help wirh any issues .but no .they are on there cruise now in puerto rico ,iberia promised there luggage would be there and guess what ,its not ,its ruined there whole vacation
It sounds like if that woman was “scared” of you filming, she needs to not fly. You are perfectly and legally allowed to film in a public place. Also, if what you’re filming does show other people, there’s nothing illegal about that either.
I have traveled the world extensively. The best 2 flights I have ever flown were on Iberia (LAX to Madrid and return). Iberia was ranked number 15 in the best airlines of the world. Not one airline from the US made the top 20.
Most European business class have standard economy seats with the middle seat free. Most, but not all, an SAS flight from Manchester (UK) to Bergen had all three seats occupied. Worst ever business class. Shame about the lady, but what can you do? I enjoy your content.
You behaved properly and other passenger seems to be a little paranoid. Iberia or a truly dread flare line and their ground staff are beyond rude. I had a bad experience with them in Madrid where is a business class passenger? They treated me like dirt and sent me to a hotel which didn’t even have a bar, everything came out of a vending machine, and it was also being used by people who were asylum seekers or being removed from Spain because they did not have appropriate documentation. This is how they treat business class customers, so God help anybody who’s in economy!
I got burned BADLY by Iberia during 2020. While other airlines HONORED their flights for almost 2 years, Iberia DID NOT. They offered credit instead of refunds, when it was clearly a time when Americans were banned from entering Spain. There was absolutely no way to use the credit during that time period. A year before the pandemic, I used them to fly and it was TERRIBLE. A four hour delay with no explanation. Due to the way they handle airlines in Spanish airports, the security staff are the only people at the gate, no representatives. They had no customer service. Finally found a woman to ask questions. I said, its getting late. Will you be able to help if we need Rooms for the night? She was the only person of many to be helpful. One out of a dozen. It was pathetic. I said never again, but banked on them one more time? Now I officially will say NEVER AGAIN.
Business class in Europe (not long distances) is the same in any company, especially in this type of aircraft which does not have Business class that you describe with images. You have to be informed before you speak. In addition, a 45 dollars upgrade allows you to enter the VIP lounge and consume without moderation in the Business cabin. This is a simple example. At Paris airport this is equivalent to two croissants and two fruit juices. I think that writing "Upgrade with Iberia (worst ever)" was not the good choice. Simple opinion.

These seats for European Business Class are pretty standard fare. I've flown in European Business Class with Iberia, Air France, and British Airways. They are pretty much the same. One blocked middle seat in rows of 3/3 configuration. As far as the lady goes, I would have ignored her and not engaged in her craziness. Maybe she had a warrant through Interpol and didn't want to be discovered. LOL
Business class in Europe is terrible, unless you’re on a wide body aircraft. Iberia fly an a330 from Madrid to London - I had lay flat seat. Finnair fly an a350 from London to Helsinki - same thing. You have to see what aircraft it is prior to purchase. They’ll charge the same but have totally different experiences.

After watching your video, my impression is that the flight wasn't particularly bad, but you just had a stupid racist woman seating next to you. As a reviewer, I guess you should assess the work, service and professionality of a company with thousands of employees. Some questions that I think need to be answered, in order to assess Iberia's reaction to the situation you suffered: during the conflict, how did the staff perform? Was their reaction professional and satisfying? Were you offered any solution afterwards to compensate for this event? Sorry you had to experience this, and good job!

If the $45 was on breakfast, dinner or lunch time and you have access to the lunch, it is OK. Note that I compare this as if you pay exit row seats, so taken into account hwwhat you paid and what you get it is not a BIG DRAMA

I might suggest a change of the title of this review as it makes it seem Iberia is a bad airline (Worst EVER) and cause a negative thought in the mind of someone who has not flown with the airline before. I flew Itia from Rome to Cairo, Egypt. They too block the middle seat. I ended up on a row alone so i could stretch out across all 3 seats. Also i don't like the get on the bus to catch your flight thing.

Iberia is so racist. I am surprised they haven't been exposed or shut down. I am black and they are happy being nice and greeting other people on the plane but when I stepped foot on the plane or when I left there was silence or no greeting. This action was so blatantly racist towards me, they felt unwelcomed by my presence.

My worst business class experience was Iberia too (again nothing to do with the airline). Long haul
Madrid to Rio de Janeiro, spacious seat, great food and ok entertainment (though not a patch on Emirates entertainment). The issue was about 5 drunken wealthy Russians (jewellery and Rolexes on display) who drank entire tumblers of neat whisk, one after the other. When the stewardess (a really petite sweet Spanish lady) said she couldn’t serve them anymore one of these entitled thugs, now blind drunk, got up towering above her yelling that her job was to serve them. Two of us got up to offer her support and the male steward appeared and he was being yelled at too. The steward told the guy if he didn’t calm down the captain would contact Rio and he would be removed by the authorities. This defused the situation somewhat but the atmosphere remained ugly until we landed. The absolute worst people I’ve ever encountered travelling.
I think you were within your rights to film your experience as you saw fit to record every step of the way and we thank you for your boldness in doing so ,you are not wrong ,you are not the only one who has had a bad experience with iberia ,my best friend paid a but load to travel with her 2 young children from Alicante connecting flight at Madrid then a 10 hour flight to Miami ,she shopped for months buying all the outfits for herself and especially for her 2 daughters ,cost a mini fortune ,only to arrive at Miami to learn that iberia had not put there luggage on the Miami flight so they are with the same clothes as when i waved them off from Spain ,iberia have been so irresponsible,tje cruise ship have called iberia 3 times in the same say only to have that person cut them off .a once in a live time trip to be ruined by iberia not being professional
They were promised that iberia would send there luggage in Puerto Rico ,but MSC cruise line who have been so kind ,said we are trying to communicate with iberia but iberia on arrival at Miami airport there office was closed my friend returned the next day ,again their office was closed no representative availabile no one to be seen .you would think that iberia agents would be there to help their customers ie if luggage is lost or delayed ,on the other side of the world ,so bad a mother travelling with her 2 young daughters ,you would think that someone from tje iberia airline would be in Miami airport to help wirh any issues .but no .they are on there cruise now in puerto rico ,iberia promised there luggage would be there and guess what ,its not ,its ruined there whole vacation

It sounds like if that woman was “scared” of you filming, she needs to not fly. You are perfectly and legally allowed to film in a public place. Also, if what you’re filming does show other people, there’s nothing illegal about that either.
I have traveled the world extensively. The best 2 flights I have ever flown were on Iberia (LAX to Madrid and return). Iberia was ranked number 15 in the best airlines of the world. Not one airline from the US made the top 20.
Most European business class have standard economy seats with the middle seat free. Most, but not all, an SAS flight from Manchester (UK) to Bergen had all three seats occupied. Worst ever business class. Shame about the lady, but what can you do? I enjoy your content.
I enjoyed the story and the video. As you must know by now, people are basically nuts but they do make for good stories on the videos. ha ha

You behaved properly and other passenger seems to be a little paranoid. Iberia or a truly dread flare line and their ground staff are beyond rude. I had a bad experience with them in Madrid where is a business class passenger? They treated me like dirt and sent me to a hotel which didn’t even have a bar, everything came out of a vending machine, and it was also being used by people who were asylum seekers or being removed from Spain because they did not have appropriate documentation. This is how they treat business class customers, so God help anybody who’s in economy!

I got burned BADLY by Iberia during 2020. While other airlines HONORED their flights for almost 2 years, Iberia DID NOT. They offered credit instead of refunds, when it was clearly a time when Americans were banned from entering Spain. There was absolutely no way to use the credit during that time period. A year before the pandemic, I used them to fly and it was TERRIBLE. A four hour delay with no explanation. Due to the way they handle airlines in Spanish airports, the security staff are the only people at the gate, no representatives. They had no customer service. Finally found a woman to ask questions. I said, its getting late. Will you be able to help if we need Rooms for the night? She was the only person of many to be helpful. One out of a dozen. It was pathetic. I said never again, but banked on them one more time? Now I officially will say NEVER AGAIN.
Business class in Europe (not long distances) is the same in any company, especially in this type of aircraft which does not have Business class that you describe with images. You have to be informed before you speak. In addition, a 45 dollars upgrade allows you to enter the VIP lounge and consume without moderation in the Business cabin. This is a simple example. At Paris airport this is equivalent to two croissants and two fruit juices. I think that writing "Upgrade with Iberia (worst ever)" was not the good choice. Simple opinion.

These seats for European Business Class are pretty standard fare. I've flown in European Business Class with Iberia, Air France, and British Airways. They are pretty much the same. One blocked middle seat in rows of 3/3 configuration.
As far as the lady goes, I would have ignored her and not engaged in her craziness. Maybe she had a warrant through Interpol and didn't want to be discovered. LOL
Business class in Europe is terrible, unless you’re on a wide body aircraft. Iberia fly an a330 from Madrid to London - I had lay flat seat. Finnair fly an a350 from London to Helsinki - same thing. You have to see what aircraft it is prior to purchase. They’ll charge the same but have totally different experiences.

I'm super sorry this happened to you. I also feel like the title of the video can be a bit misleading. After watching your video, my impression is that the flight wasn't particularly bad, but you just had a stupid racist woman seating next to you. As a reviewer, I guess you should assess the work, service and professionality of a company with thousands of employees. Some questions that I think need to be answered, in order to assess Iberia's reaction to the situation you suffered: during the conflict, how did the staff perform? Was their reaction professional and satisfying? Were you offered any solution afterwards to compensate for this event? Sorry you had to experience this, and good job!

That’s kinda sad. Like what if it was just regular ol’ me in that exact seat/flight trying to just take a selfie? 🤳 are people really that “scared” of someone else, in their own area, minding their own business, are they really so scared of their safety? I can understand if it was all loud and continuously disrupting others, but to me, you always seem to just shoot your footage and stay to yourself. And maybe she’s just paranoid about every little thing…and if that’s the case, maybe people should just stay home. It’s a great big world out there and if every person cries over every little thing, the planes ✈️ trains 🚂 ships 🚢 and all other transportation will never get to their destinations bc everyone is so paranoid 😏

business Class in Europe aren't the same in North America. It's basically economy seats with space but middle seat blocked..
Dang dude, that lady crossed the line. And it probably was a race thing. I don't know whether that lady was Spanish herself but racism towards black people is waaay more prevalent and normalized in Spain and to be honest, across Europe as a whole.
People in Spain, and other European countries, still use the n-word freely, especially the older generation.

If the $45 was on breakfast, dinner or lunch time and you have access to the lunch, it is OK. Note that I compare this as if you pay exit row seats, so taken into account hwwhat you paid and what you get it is not a BIG DRAMA

Here is the thing, the business class flights in Europe are not the best, but they are much better than US carrier. The 45 US dollar upgrade would have been used in the lounge.
That lady is a spaz. Selfie takers aren't scary. A passenger hopping out of their seat and rushing to the front of the plane 👀 is scary. Thankfully, the flight attendant was sensible.

I truly enjoy your reviews, both cruise and airline. I might suggest a change of the title of this review as it makes it seem Iberia is a bad airline (Worst EVER) and cause a negative thought in the mind of someone who has not flown with the airline before. That would refer to myself, as I am doing research on Iberia as we are flying them later this spring. After viewing all of the video it was not the airline, but another passenger that caused the issue. Again, thanks for your reviews and keep them coming!

I flew Itia from Rome to Cairo, Egypt. They too block the middle seat. I ended up on a row alone so i could stretch out across all 3 seats. Also i don't like the get on the bus to catch your flight thing.

Iberia is so racist. I am surprised they haven't been exposed or shut down. I am black and they are happy being nice and greeting other people on the plane but when I stepped foot on the plane or when I left there was silence or no greeting. This action was so blatantly racist towards me, they felt unwelcomed by my presence.
