Many people are wondering what happened to my two Evolve bikes, I ended up selling those. I was more interested in other bikes so the Maiden replaced the Skypilot and the Patrol replaced the Alpha 27. I did enjoy the Evolve bikes and it was nice to have those to ride, I also wish I kept the Alpha 27 a bit longer and made more content with it, but ultimately I wanted to ride other bikes, I was supposed to have the Patrol a lot sooner actually but delays happened. I am very happy with what I have now! And like I said, I don't care for getting new bikes every year anymore!

The cranks turning when the suspension is used is thanks to the pivot point
Your davincy willson lengthens the distance from your chainring to your rear cog as is goes trough the travel. This is pulling your chain and that's why the pedals move. Every supsension design has a different amount of pedal kickback so that's why your willson has more pedal kickback then other bikes
Ochain makes a chainring that has a variable degree of engagement that would take care of the kickback.
My bike does the exact same thing as his Wilson
could be ur clutch is slightly too tight on ur deraileur really easy fix

Yeah also the reason it happens at slower speed is because your freehub acts like a buffer against chain engagement/growth when at higher speed. If you are going slower, the chain growth is faster than your freehub can cancel out so the chain will engage.
You should totally get a dirt jumper! It would be the perfect addition to the collection!

@@pabloguerrero7560 dirt jumpers have the same tires but they are 26 instead of 20

4:48, maybe I'm mistaken, but isnt that pedal kickback, caused by the chain stay length growing slightly as the bike goes through its travel

i really appriciate how you dont crap on old bikes like some people. i ride a 2006, and get negative comments all the time. its refreshing to see someone else who rides the hell out of an oldie
that thing with the cranks moving on the wilson is actually because when the shock compresses, and you have a high engagement hub, the chain shortens which makes the cranks move (the higher POE, the more movement)
You should ride at silverstar again this year because they have a sweet new double black jump trail called title line

I’m a carpenter and have had the same problem with muscle problems in my elbow from drills and such torquing on my arm. I use kinesio tape when it’s acting up it works great! I usually just cut a slit in it to go around my elbow.
I also did the same thing on my 07 vpx uzzi I didn't really like a thick looking down tube so I put electrical tape as well looks awesome now

That 2020-2021 Patrol, I so regret selling it. It's the best jump bike, climber and steep descender, imo. My other five bikes are missing something, too drunk to think about it but the Patrol is like a XC,DJ, enduro, DH and trail all in one.

The rearhub engaging when you go through your travel on the Devinci is due to something called anti-squat. It's what makes the bike efficient when pedalling, it doesn't dive through your suspension when you pedal. When your pedals move it's called pedal feedback and it sucks, I have a lot of it on my Pyga with high antisquat. Different bikes have different amounts, lower engagement hubs also decrease the amount of pedal feedback, it's why some brands like DT swiss don't go over 54 points of engagement in the freehub.

About Wilson, that sound, I had exactly the same problem with my Kona Entourage, and you are right, it's a hub, suspension design issue, pedal kick etc. Only way to remove it is to get a silent hub with instant engagement or something like Hydra.

Seeing lightbicyle rims here makes me feel pretty solid about them for a road bike...
Slamming the Wilson's back wheel on the ground was a display of what pedal kickback is. That's why newer high pivot bikes have idler pullies at the pivot. It keeps the effective chainstay length from increasing, which minimizes the effects of kickback.

A rear hub with less engagement points will reduce pedal kickback at slow speeds. Find the happy medium between quick pedal engagement / pedal kickback. Super nice bikes .

That BMX is a Haro Premium, they're a newer branch of Haro Bikes, and they are indeed premium, besides the wheels.
Those are single-walled rims i bet and they will def bend if you try anything major

27.5 patrol is one of best looking enduro bikes IMO.
At 4:55 that thing with the engaging the hub also happens to my 2016 devinci Spartan so it may be something to do with the suspension layout at the time.

my 2015 gt fury does that same clicking noise when you slam the back but it goes away when riding fast as well!! lol!
I have an issue that sounds similar to the issue you have with the first bike you talked about. Try tightening all of the bearings, even if you just torque it a little bit it will fix the problem. It worked for my Santa Cruz.

I think Jordan sanded it and put some nail polish or something on it when he scratched it. He did that a good while back I think it’s not tearing up the seals

4:50 I had a problem like that with my trail bike. I don’t know if it’s the same sound, but I tried tightening my cassette and it went away because the sound was the cassette rattling. If that not the problem it might be a bit of chain slap or even normal pedal ratchet sounds.
