a thing they left out of the manga is that the gun devil killed 1.2 million people globally. a ton of countries lost a lot of people, it wasn't contained to America. and the gun control thing is global to weaken the devil, not just an Amaerican thing. no idea why they didn't include that info in the anime

Multiple reasons.
The scene isn't one that would work well in motion, because it would be very jarring to have a narration about death-tolls all over the world when it has nothing to do with what's going on on-screen(the death of Aki's family) and reduces the impact of his family's deaths(and therefore, his backstory as a whole) if they included it.
The second one is that it isn't necessary at all. In the subsequent shots, it showed cultures all over the world being destroyed, and a document on Makima's desk with all of the death-tolls.
People are making a mountain out of a mole-hill.

I kinda feel like I see where we're going with Denji. Basically, I think he's moving up Maslow's hierarchy of needs. First, he just wants food and shelter and he thinks that'll make him happy. But he very quickly got used to it and then he thinks touching a boob will make him happy, and then he gets it and realizes that wasn't enough for happiness either. Now he thinks sex will do it, but I'm pretty sure once he gets it he'll realize that wasn't enough to be happy either. Then he'll move towards strong relationships and self-actualization as a person. Just a theory, but it really seems like we're going in that direction for Denji.
Pretty sure the theme of csm is Greed, I also thinks we're going that route

I’ve read the manga I know what happens already but I’m saying how so far they’re the only ones to point out that she’s practically his boss. Whether he likes it or not, Denji has no idea that this isn’t normal, and Makima uses that to her advantage to manipulate and use him for her gain.

the last thing csm does is drag things out. the manga move lightning fast, thats honestly why its so different from a lot of shonen

I know Denji is like 16 years old, so how old is Makima? My best guess is somewhere in her early to mid 20s.

To be 100% honest while manipulation part is obvious I don't think the age difference was the problem to the author. Like, it's Japan, the country where you'll get litteraly ghosted from society and media regardless of your social status if you are consuming drugs but will get a slap on the hand when you possess a child pornography.
Makima is literally grooming Denji. She is late 20s but Denji is just 16(could be younger because he doesn't know his birthday).
He does know his birthday(no spoiler). 16 is legal in japan, so that's another point proven wrong. Yes she is manipulating him, grooming wouldn't really be the word considering he doesn't have any other choice... or even rights to begin with lmfao. She is being real with him and giving him what he wants in exchange for something... that is manipulation more than anything.

Age of consent laws are very very ambiguous in Japan, the penal code, which is 120 years old has it at 13, but lawyers can argue about consent upto 20.
From my understanding the gun devil first appeared in the US before traveling the globe in 5 minutes. (This part was cut from the anime) the 1.3 million people that died came from multiple countries: US, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Russia, China, and India.
Pretty sure it wasn't cut, it just wasn't explained in as much detail, and for all we know, it's a translation-issue.
CR is pretty abysmal when it comes to subs.

Gun violence is not only an “American” thing you know. It appeared in America, because of the gun violence around the world. Also the “fear” of guns is not about people caring about those who died from it but more the mental images and representation of it. If someone put a gun in your face, you get scared. Hearing gun shots, for some people it seeing/touching it…..etc.
The Gun Devil spawned in America because thats indeed the country with the most gun violence combined with the terrorist attack. The fear of guns around the world strengthens it though
Also, the manga explicitly said people were arming up world-wide to protect themselves from devils.
The Gun Devil is really interesting and really brings up interesting discussions. If a devil is more powerful the more people fear it, does it matter WHAT kind of fear it is???? For Japan, it may be the fear of the physical guns themselves and the devastation they can cause, but in America it can be both that *and* the fear of guns being taken away.
I think as long as there's some form of fear around whatever object, idea, etc. that the devil invokes, if doesn't matter how it's feared.

Agree that the idea of a Gun Devil in America to some degree doesn’t make total sense with the number of people who don’t care about gun violence. I think an example of satire on gun violence that I thought was really effective was the South Park episodes featuring it and everyone comically ignoring it and not caring.

to clarify,I don't think Himeno was injured frm the Gun Devil attack, Aki was clearly older in that second flashback than when his family died, and she did say six parters died so liekly she was the gave for a different devil fight that went sideways.

I think you guys should check out DOROHEDORO you will definitely like it. Its from MAPPA and kinda similar to chainsaw man in a way. The manga itself is a masterpiece but the anime has something extra that will keep you entertained throughout the series . The problem is that only the first season has aired and there is no news about another season . But you guys should check it out its great

They didnt make it clear in the anime for some reason, but the 1.2 million people that died were global, not just in America. That’s why Aki’s flashback was shown while Makima was talking about it.

I forgot to write this part: While most Japanese follow both Shintoism and Buddhism events and rituals, many people consider those things cultural. We like to go to shrines and temples and celebrate events in both Shintoism and Buddhism ways, but more than 60% of people say they have no religion. I think we don't have the same concept of 'religion' as in the West because in Japan ‘gods’ are everywhere.

Guys not looking at the dialogue for a non-English show is like muting the show for an english show. You guys keep looking away from the screen too much. This show throws a lot of important dialogue at you really fast so I would suggest looking away from the dialogue less. This show is like a speedrun story with its really fast pace
