Looking forward to more from this part of the world. I was a fan of Eva Cesaria's music and she is from there. While I was in Lisbon a few years ago, there were these three absolutely gorgeous young sistas. They were all from Cape Verde. After that I knew I have to some day visit.
Wow Bro, it's been a while waiting for this Video. I have to say Cape Verde looks to be a very interesting Country to visit. Cant wait to watch more Videos about this Country. Great Work Will.
There’s a cross above and below they are four iron poles where they would sell the slave. It has two meaning the slavery of the mind and savery of the body.
It's a reality of all African's daily life. You can clearly see the colonizers still walking around, coming back to see the wake of their ancestor's destruction.
That thing about the Pelourinho being used to punish slaves is a complete fake. The Pelourinho doesn't have anything to do with slavery , the Pelourinho was just a sign that the town was given administrative , taxation and judicial independence from the Crown , all Portuguese towns have a Pelourinho and public punishment was often held by the Pelourino but even someone from the Royal Family in Portugal could be punished by the Pelourino. I believe that the Portuguese living in Cape Verde and the free Cape Verdean had trials and were punished in public in that Pelourinho , I don't think that the slaves had a trial and were punished the same way as the Portuguese and Cape Verdeans , I believe slave traders and slave owners just punished their slaves themselves and whenever they felt like to.
In fact the Portuguese did not catch the slaves. The portuguese were too weak to conquer Africa untill 1850. So they established towns in the coast of Africa and from there they did business with local African kingdoms. The Portuguese only accepted to be paid with slaves so the local african kingdoms fought each other to catch slaves and sell them to Portuguese. Then the slaves were sent to Cape verde islands to be christianized and learn portuguese and then sent to the americas.
What is really beautiful to see is that the vast majority of women there wear their natural hair wow

There are a lot of people from this country who live in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Upper Guinea Coast……..Mulattoes and Lagandos ruled this land
Why do they add "Shocking " to this title. It's baloney and dishonest.

In the mid 15th century, the Portuguese were still raiding and kidnapping slaves. Look up the voyage of Lançarote de Freitas in 1444.
Nothing to do with the video.
