You mentioning Charlies ringtone its important to note that viv said Lucifer based hell off of a circus when he was originally building and setting it up after banishment with each of the deadly sin being based off of an act Lucifer being the ringmaster position
Though Lilith didn't take Charlie away. I think she - Lilith - might be the link to both Charlie and Lucifer. But when she vanished that link wasn't there and now you see the outcome of that.. Charlie even says she wanted her dad in her life and waited for him to call. Or maybe because of her. The only thing that seperated Charlie with her dad is depression. Might be Lilith fault because break-ups aren't easy.. her leaving him and then disappear was definite the breaking point for Lucifer 😢
I believe there's a little more to that. Lilith was probably putting young Charlie to bed in that scene. Let's not forget, this is Lucifer. THE big boss of hell. He's probably a busy man and doesn't get to spend much time with Charlie. Lilith could actually be what kept their little family together. It fell apart when she left.
@@Moonchild0 No, you are mistaken. Lucifer was already depressed due to being banished to hell, and his disappointment grew when he saw that his dream of giving free will to humans didn't turn out as he hoped, as told in Chapter 1. In fact, I personally believe that Lilith left Lucifer because of his depression and because he despises sinners unlike her.
The look of sadness on Lucifer and the doors closing onto him also hints at Lilith taking Charlie away. Or maybe it was simply to illustrate the separation and how him and Charlie grew distant.
I love how this Lucifer is so different than all other media versions. Normally he’s a bloodthirsty maniac but here he’s just an ostentatious anti-social anxious dad
Since I'm sure nobody was curious, the tune that Lucifer had as his ringtone for Charlie is called "Thunder and Blazes" -- a screamer march adaptation of Julius Fučík's "Entrance of the Gladiators" that's been heavily used by circuses since the early 1900s. It really fits the ringmaster vibe he's got going on, doesn't it? (Most people likely know the tune, but it's been a short list of people I've met who know what it's _called._ Most of the time I've heard it guessed as "Send in the Clowns", but that's a different tune entirely.)
Lucifer Morningstar was finally here. "More than anything" This Song by Lucifer and his daughter Charlie brought me and my sister to tears from yesterday until now.
Also we actually have seen a few rooms! We’ve seen Charlie’s and Vaggie’s room twice at 2:44 in Episode One and 0:35 in Episode Five, Angel’s at 17:56 in Episode Two, Alastor’s at 2:49, Sir Pentious’s at 21:46, with both in Episode Three
I just recognized.... alastor put his people into the two best positions there are at a hotel like this. The barkeeper can easily overhear most of the conversations (especially in such a small bar area) while nifty can easily access any room to either place bugs (pun intended) or steal (see episode 8) and not get to be suspicious due to them working there anyway... Took me way too long to get that thought
I feel like Alastor's manipulativeness reaches its peak in this episode. He's not being petty or competitive with Lucifer for fun or to show off his self confidence, he's literally pushing on his insecurities toward Charlie the whole time, in order to get the devil to do exactly what they need for the Hotel. "I've already done so much for your daughter, let me see you do any better". This push + Charlie's affective pull and Lucifer was basically done for the moment he stepped in.
I find it interesting that alastor doesn't really flaunt his power around lucifer because he's one of the few that are (presumably) stronger than him and chooses to instead boast about his relationship with charlie
It's possible Alastor was being cautious, but I feel like using Charlie like that would have bugged Lucifer more than just flaunting power, which is why he chose to mess with him in that way.
That's exactly what it is. Look at how Alastor behave when we first met him in the pilot. He was a big, flamboyant presence that took up all the space in the room with his personality and implied threats. But the problem is, with Lucifer in the room, Alastor becomes a nobody. He can't intimidate him, he can't charm him, he can't impress him. And that makes Alastor feel small in comparison.
@@SnowyWolborg That's not the impression I got at all. Alastor wasn't intimidated and didn't give the impression of feeling inadequate next to Lucifer. I don't feel like he even cares if Lucifer is more powerful than him. Alastor clearly did the whole "I treat Charlie like a daughter" thing specifically to mess with Lucifer, because that's just the kind of guy he is.
@@Arthurmagicknight Are you serious? When Lucifer treated Alastor like a nobody, and actually prompted him to respond with an aggressive "fuck you," it was clear as day Alastor was mad at being dismissed.
@@SnowyWolborg Being annoyed or affronted isn't the same thing as being intimidated or feeling inadequate, though. That was what we were specifically talking about
Alastor definitely still has some pretty shady shit going on, but I think he's genuinely at least a little attached to the Hotel, or even just Charlie's goal for redemption. He didn't have to keep up a front with Mimzy, but he still chose to tell her she needed to leave, and he even offered her a place at the hotel if she genuinely wanted to seek redemption. Honestly, it kinda makes me wish this series was 12 eps, with a couple here or there to just be some episodic story to show the characters' growth between main story beats.
I just wanna say two things: #1: Nun Alastor: *Exists* Me: ... Do I use 'Forgive me father for I have sinned' or 'Punish me daddy, I've been naughty.' in this instance? #2: Alastor for real just walked right up to Lucifer and essentially said "Your daughter calls me daddy too." to his face, and WAR happened. XD #WelcomeToMyWorld
The few episodes of Helluva Boss that you've seen are more "I.M.P. mission of the week" that the original Pilot was built around but from Episode 5&6 and onward it becomes far more story driven and about the interpersonal relationships between characters, their backstories, and how much an emotional train wreck Blitzø is behind closed doors. As of right now Hazbin Hotel is the "lighter" show in plot (since it is just getting started) since it only focuses on the "Pride Ring" of Hell that Lucifer directly rules and where the Sinners (Human Souls) dwell and its relationship with Heaven. Helluva Boss on the other hand is more "epic" in scale, focusing on the native non-human demons such at the Imps, Hell Hounds, Succubi, Ars Goetia, and the personifications of the other Seven Deadly Sins besides Lucifer that rule the other Six Rings of Hell. I suspect the reason for this is because "flagship" series Hazbin Hotel was picked up by A24, series creator Vivienne Medrano has less direct control over it. Since its took so many years for Hazbin Hotel to come out as a proper series with multiple episodes, Vivienne retooled the "spinoff" Helluva Boss to be her primary outlet for developing the lore and cosmology of Hell without the strings attached that Hazbin Hotel now has. In effect Helluva Boss has become the "main" series and "passion project" between the two and at this point features better animation (such as the "Look My Way" music video) because the animation team can be more experimental.
I love Lucifer so freaking much. And I agree about his voice, and how this song truly pushed them. I don’t often get teary eyed when hearing a song, but this did it.
Little bit of funny history - Jeremy Jordan was actually cast to sing in “The Greatest Showman” with Hugh Jackman, but was later replaced by Zac Efron. In a behind-the-scenes while practicing and rehearsing “This is Me” with Keala Settle, you can actually see Jeremy Jordan sitting with the other main cast members, watching the rehearsal. I don’t know if it was intentional to hire Jeremy Jordan and Lucifer is like the ring master of a circus as the King of Hell, but it’s fun to think of.
Lucifer was voiced by the extremely talented Jeremy Jordan, who also voices Varian on Tangled the series. If you want to hear more of him I recommend checking out the Tangled songs; "Let Me Make You Proud", and 2 of the best Villain songs I've ever heard "Ready As I'll Ever Be" and "Nothing Left to Lose"
The VA for Lucifer is Jeremy Jordan. If you liked his voice, there's a movie musical he made a few years ago called The Last Five Years. You should check it out, Anna Kendrick stars in it too
Episode 3 actually does show Alastor's room (love his decorating, that's similar to the bar area) & Episode 2 showed Angel Dusts', which is where Fat Nuggets was introduced.
3:22 There is a BIG circus theme running through all of the Hellaverse. Lucifer went off the deep end after the fall and turned all of hell into a giant circus. Instead of three ring big top hes got seven RINGS. As the Sin of Pride, King of hell and Archangel Morningstar; gods favorite, he is the ring master. The sins are also acts in their rings in Helluva Boss. Asmodeus (lust) is the Magic act with his top hat and glowing blazer. Bee (gluttony) is the animal trainer preforming through her rings and loops with all her Hellhounds. A Sin you haven't met yet is the clown. Satan (who no one has met yet is said to be the strong man) so on. So both he and Charlie have BIG circus energy in their ringtones for one another in their phones, how they decorate where they live. All of it.
Alastors "Fuck you" is a very special moment honestly. He's normally always above anyone else and if he has to comes up with creative insults like in Vox's case so him swearing just shows how much he dislikes Lucifer
It you ever want to listen to another song that’s a duet with Lucifer’s VA and Charlie’s listen to: “You in this light” from the The Violet Hour Also a very nice rock-ish song that includes him “Hallowed” Age of Madness
Mimzy was first shown with others in Zootopia. She briefly appeared in the Pilot during Charlie's song. So her song was amusing. New fans who didn't know her, were like Lucifer= "Who?" old fans were like "Finally! Mimzy is here!"
I like how this weirdly brings Alastor down for lowering himself to be very petty and even cuss but at the same time brings him up cause this is Lucifer he's beefing with. He's weaker than him by who knows how much and he's straight up disrespecting him.
That's exactly what it is. Sometimes doing nothing at all can be a show of strength, but that Alastor needed to prove he wasn't small in comparison to Lucifer was undeniable proof that he was intimidated by being in the same room as him.
10:01 Alastor is the typical demon here 😅 teasing Lucifer and getting on his nerves because of his almost nonexistent relationship with Charlie, then chubby troublemaker lady comes in to cause mayhem. Gotta love dem short king tho 💕 Alastor always has ulterior motives but Luci is unexpectedly innocent, I like that twist on his story
y know... in the song with Lucifer, Alastor talks about making Charlie laugh with old timey puns... can anyone remember any old timey puns he makes durignt he show?It just feels like more "did we tell you that he's old timey already? Because we don't have the time to show you!" And how he acted when dealing with the attackers... it felt kind off... uncharacteristically large ham, especially the announcement about "messing with the radio demon! I will eat you all!" Usually, while hammy, he's more of cold ham... it just feels off.
I mean, his whole part about being close to Charlie was a total lie since he just wanted to make Lucifer angry...since he can't flex his powers given that Lucifer is so high above him in hierarchy and power. And then he had to vent by going all out on the loansharks since he can't fight the king of hell.
The old timey puns is something that the original VA from the pilot started. They use to do live streams where the VA's acted as their characters in order to raise money for the show. Alastor's VA did a lot of dad jokes and bad puns, just search Alastor dad jokes and you can find a few animatics made from the audio clips from those streams. If you're a fan of bad/cheesy jokes they're pretty good, especially sense Angel Dust's VA constantly heckles him
@@TheGman121212I am more than well aware of "Dad Jokes with Alastor". But as i t is shown, it feels more like something Charlie knows about, something the viewers should know. For me, ti feels like something that Alastor was supposed to do, maybe to reference the fact that he died int he early thirties, but due to time constraints or wathever just never got to the screen.
As far as how Alastor handled the attackers, I honestly didn't find it very out of character. His persona is usually more laid back, with a "don't mess with me or else" sort of energy, but keep in mind he has been gone for 7 years. Not everyone knows who he is anymore, and his reputation has still taken a hit in the eyes of those that do. This sort of dramatic display is exactly the type of thing Alastor was known for, and people just needed a reminder of what he's capable of. He's not all talk, but people unfamiliar with who he is might think so, so in my opinion it makes perfect sense for him to pull this sort of thing to put people back in their place. It's not something he does often, but it was definitely necessary to prove he won't shy away from literally ripping apart anyone who challenges him.
Ngl I felt the same way when he morphed into a more monstrous form to defend the hotel. It did feel off and weak tbh, if the music had changed to some sort of "final boss" theme made specifically for Alastor it would've been cooler or even a simple slowed electroswing-esque soundtrack it would've at least not made it seem soo bland. Even the voice lines were delivered kinda of cheap, didn't help they weren't even that good as far as word choice goes either. I thought they'd go with something along the lines of "you'd be wise to start running", "prepare to be history", or even "step into my parlor said the spider to the fly" But all delivered with a deep gutteral serious voice with a radiostatic effect
I knew you were a singer, @The Heck, like I used to be before permanent lung damage and an autoimmune disease affected my ribcage cartilage so deep breathing is off the table for the rest of my life. I LOVE how you react to the singing voices like I do and also get chills when I hear these Broadway actors/singers giving their all to the Hazbin Hotel project! @TheHeck 21:15 This series hasn't had one bad song yet. They've all been so outstanding in their own ways as they're so different from each other, but this song, #MoreThanAnything had me tearing up at how beautiful their voices are. oh yeah i haven't even noticed ads on prime video cause i have ublock origin installed well i did notice them on my phone in the app, but so far they've only played at the beginning
Gotta love a last or attempting too pick on lucifer. Also he starts shit using how close he is too Charlie too make Lucifer help. He knows Lucifer makes him look like a pebble in the power game but he is a master strategist and manipulator so he can spin it his way.
I haven't thought this before but could it be possible that Alastor was goading Lucifer the whole time during their interactions for Lucifer to finally help Charlie and not just the writers' way of showing the viewers that Alastor has a superiority complex which he does.
*A bit of spoiler for those who haven't watched Episode 6* I just noticed something...the way Vaggie reacted by hiding her face in what looks like shame and silent agreement when Lucifer said that the people in Heaven is not as open-minded as Charlie may think. Definitely a clue to her true origins 😢
Lucifer is dissapointe and dissillusioned and he is projecting that on to CHarlie. And it makes her ANGRY, you can see her eye twitching during the seige as he is like " It doesn't matter how well intentioned you are." He is done giving sinners chances and he doesn't want Charlie to either. But he is also shitting on her idea and her friends while he is trying to reason with her. Showing a total lack of faith in sinners is showing a total lack of faith in Charlie and he just doesn't see that, until she spells it out for him.
If you love Lucifers voice then I highly reccomend listening to Ready as I'll ever be from the Tangled series. The song is amazing and he made it so much better.
Nice reaction, enjoyed it. I think Jeremy Jordan, the VA for Lucifer, is the most famous singer among all the cast in terms of Broadway work. But yeah, fitting and really powerful in both songs. My only complaint about More Than Anything, somehow when Charlie and Lucifer sing together, I don’t think it quite harmonizes with each other. It feels like when their voices are fighting each other instead of singing with each other. Maybe it’s just my ears, does anyone hear this? It isn’t that obvious so the duet still sounds great yo me, but something just jars me when they both sing
Makes sence that Lucifer and Charlie has beautiful voices, after all, Lucifer is an angel well a fallen one but he is still an angle from heaven and Charlie has the blood of an angle.

We’ve seen Charlie’s and Vaggie’s room twice at 2:44 in Episode One and 0:35 in Episode Five, Angel’s at 17:56 in Episode Two, Alastor’s at 2:49, Sir Pentious’s at 21:46, with both in Episode Three
We even saw the toilet. I mean... custom room.
@@martins.4240 haha yes! Completely forgot about that scene
I love that we got Alastor’s first on-screen curse and it was an f-bomb! 😂
And the Devil Went Down to Georgia reference with the golden fiddle!!
Interesting how more people don't get that reference actually
Jeremy Jordan is a god. Listen to whatever you can from him. He is truly amazing
That was what we were specifically talking about
Okay, but can we remember that Alastor called out Charlie's daddy issues in the 1st episode? Dude definitely has insider information.
The voice for Lucifer is Jeremy Jordan. He also voiced/sang for Varian on tangled the series.
Honestly, it kinda makes me wish this series was 12 eps, with a couple here or there to just be some episodic story to show the characters' growth between main story beats.
bro is the goat for not cutting his reactions
the daughter father song moved me so much i bawled
I just wanna say two things:
#1:
Nun Alastor: *Exists*
Me: ... Do I use 'Forgive me father for I have sinned' or 'Punish me daddy, I've been naughty.' in this instance?
#2: Alastor for real just walked right up to Lucifer and essentially said "Your daughter calls me daddy too." to his face, and WAR happened. XD
#WelcomeToMyWorld
What the fu**
You have been killin it with these videos man! Keep up the good work!
All of the voice actors are top tier Broadway actors. That's why the songs sound so amazing
You should check it out, Anna Kendrick stars in it too
The Last Five Years is wonderful. I cried every time but can't help rewatching it
Episode 3 actually does show Alastor's room (love his decorating, that's similar to the bar area) & Episode 2 showed Angel Dusts', which is where Fat Nuggets was introduced.
9:40 i love it when the devil pulls out his golden fiddle. Guess johnny didn't need it any more.
He's probably got several. He likes to bet so good artists get gifts
All of it.
Jeremy Jordan voices Lucifer I believe he also played Varian in the tangled series
did anyone else notice that alastor dropped a piano on Lucifer
Man if you did not shed a tear with that amazing song, they both have amazing voices.
Alastors "Fuck you" is a very special moment honestly. He's normally always above anyone else and if he has to comes up with creative insults like in Vox's case so him swearing just shows how much he dislikes Lucifer
It you ever want to listen to another song that’s a duet with Lucifer’s VA and Charlie’s listen to: “You in this light” from the The Violet Hour
Also a very nice rock-ish song that includes him “Hallowed” Age of Madness
Mimzy was first shown with others in Zootopia. She briefly appeared in the Pilot during Charlie's song. So her song was amusing.
New fans who didn't know her, were like Lucifer= "Who?"
old fans were like "Finally!
Gotta love dem short king tho 💕 Alastor always has ulterior motives but Luci is unexpectedly innocent, I like that twist on his story
not ashamed to say I have been anticipating your reaction to this FOR SO LONG
There's so much I love about Lucifer in this, but the start of his song is amazing. I can't be the only one who gets "Friend Like Me" vibes from it.
y know... in the song with Lucifer, Alastor talks about making Charlie laugh with old timey puns... can anyone remember any old timey puns he makes durignt he show?It just feels like more "did we tell you that he's old timey already? Because we don't have the time to show you!"
And how he acted when dealing with the attackers... it felt kind off... uncharacteristically large ham, especially the announcement about "messing with the radio demon!
I thought they'd go with something along the lines of "you'd be wise to start running", "prepare to be history", or even "step into my parlor said the spider to the fly"
But all delivered with a deep gutteral serious voice with a radiostatic effect
I knew you were a singer, @The Heck, like I used to be before permanent lung damage and an autoimmune disease affected my ribcage cartilage so deep breathing is off the table for the rest of my life. I LOVE how you react to the singing voices like I do and also get chills when I hear these Broadway actors/singers giving their all to the Hazbin Hotel project!
Oh, did you know Katie Killjoy is voiced by Blitzø's voice actor in the series? He also co-writes the Helluva Boss dialogue!
This is why alastor is my fav character he said "f___ you" to Lucifer and it sounded so cool!
Your gonna love episode 6 when they go to heaven but by the time you see this youve probably already watched so hope you liked it
YO that episode went hard
More than anything is my favorite song so far.
Same and by far too
@TheHeck

This series hasn't had one bad song yet. They've all been so outstanding in their own ways as they're so different from each other, but this song, #MoreThanAnything had me tearing up at how beautiful their voices are. They can both sing SUPER well & have very distinct voices. The guy singing for Lucifer is #jeremyjordan & his voice when he's singing like this, UGHHHHH, freaking EAE-GASM!!!!...ngl.
I love the subtle eye twitch Alastor has when Lucifer arrives. heeheehee
I love this show is pretty much "What if Disney did adult cartoon" The first song is pretty much "Friend like me"
9:04 totally Aladdin vibes 😅
so happy bout the reactions you do.
oh yeah i haven't even noticed ads on prime video cause i have ublock origin installed
well i did notice them on my phone in the app, but so far they've only played at the beginning
Gotta love a last or attempting too pick on lucifer. Also he starts shit using how close he is too Charlie too make Lucifer help. He knows Lucifer makes him look like a pebble in the power game but he is a master strategist and manipulator so he can spin it his way.
Something i want to point out
When charlie is freaking out at the start the earth starts shaking from her not properly controlling her powers
the ad made me giggle lmaoo
Lucifer is my top favorite character of hazbin hotel, and he's super relatable.
Charlie has the Egg Boys on her phone 😅
lucifer is voiced by jeremy jordan who has one of the best voices fr fr
I haven't thought this before but could it be possible that Alastor was goading Lucifer the whole time during their interactions for Lucifer to finally help Charlie and not just the writers' way of showing the viewers that Alastor has a superiority complex which he does.
They say that mimzy's tattoo is Mammon's symbol but when I first saw it I thought it was Asclepius, which confused the hell out of me.
Ad jumpscare💀
I was confused when i watched later episodes as i downloaded 1-6 without issue
I love Lucifer so much😭♥
The fiddle of gold was perfect lol
They've shown us parts of Al, Mr. P, and Angels rooms already. Im pretty sure Nifty just sleeps in the chimmney though
Less go more hazbin hotel reactions
*A bit of spoiler for those who haven't watched Episode 6*
I just noticed something...the way Vaggie reacted by hiding her face in what looks like shame and silent agreement when Lucifer said that the people in Heaven is not as open-minded as Charlie may think. Definitely a clue to her true origins 😢
Mimzy's name is a mix between miserable and whimsy x)
THE AD LMFAO
Lucifer is dissapointe and dissillusioned and he is projecting that on to CHarlie. And it makes her ANGRY, you can see her eye twitching during the seige as he is like " It doesn't matter how well intentioned you are." He is done giving sinners chances and he doesn't want Charlie to either. But he is also shitting on her idea and her friends while he is trying to reason with her. Showing a total lack of faith in sinners is showing a total lack of faith in Charlie and he just doesn't see that, until she spells it out for him.
Take that, depression!
Mimzys voice actor also voiced spinel from steven universe
Lucifer is easily my favorite character in this show 10000%
sir pentious VA also adam VA
Lucifer is voiced by Jeremy Jordan
I love this song Lucifer sang. 8:41
note amazon adds to all tiers so if you want ad free you have to pay 3.17
Lucifer watching Charlie being taken away by Lilith feels sad... And suggests that she might have been keeping his daughter away when younger.
Fun Fact: According to The Bible, Lucifer was the Angel of Music before he fell.
Jeremy Jordan is the KING.
You would probably really like Caleb Hyles cover versions of some of HH songs.....he does metal covers of Hazbin Hotel (the title track),Poison, and Just Look My Way. Poison is one of Angels songs and Just Look My Way is a Stolas song.also Paranoid DJ dose some wickedly awesome covers as well...like Use Me Up ( another Angel tune) and Smile Like You Mean It which is one of Alistor the radio demons songs that's super catchy.I'd love to watch you react to a few of those covers because I feel like they are more your jam.Lol.they are songs from the original show.thanks for always being so open to new music and all your positivity!!🎶❤✌
Helluva Boss is slow to gain its "story", but eventually it too gets a more story driven plot later on. you are only on ep 4 of that, so it's still kinda in introductions and world/character building. i really hope you pick it up again soon!
IS NO ONE GONNA ACKNOWLEDGE THE FACT THAT THERE'S SOMETHING ON THE SCREEN AS PREVENTING US FROM WATCHING
Just found your channel. You should check out Jeremy Jordan the voice of Lucifer. He is a fantastic singer. He does a lot of live singing.
*cries for the millionth time seeing this episode*
In Episode 3 you saw the Room of alastor and sir pentious
Omg the ad thing got me too. 😩😩😂 prime just started an ad free subscription 🙄🙄 so annoying
