- Kobbie Mainoo has been phenomenal for England against the Netherlands in the Euro 2024 semi-final. His performance included tactical plays, technical ingeniosity, and defensive alertness. Kobbie Mainoo's performance comes just at the right time ahead of a clash against Spain in the final.

@@iMibbey Mate, rice is a 6. He's not good enough going forward to be an 8. He's the classic defensive mid, a ball winning defender with decent passing. Mainoo is the perfect 8, exceptional going forward and tracking back.
@@gershomtan5879 the problem is rice is not a good no. 6 and gets caught out. Rodri is a proper no. 6 who breaks play and controls play while Ruiz plays the 8 role and they balance well. Mainoo plays the 8 role well but rice lacks the technicality to play as a 6. Stones could do a beter job as a dm

My friend, this is a good video on a rising star and generational talent. I've been watching some clips of Kobbie Mainoo when he was in United's Academy and I said that this boy's knowledge of Football is impressive. He was far above other Academy players. He's got a well developed Football brain above his current age.
Whoever tought this boy how to play Football did a wonderful job! For a 19 year old to be that talented is quite incredible. What I like most about Kobbie Mainoo is his composure on the ball. He's NEVER jittery. He has good close ball control, he's tenacious, his decision making is unbelievably good for such a young player, drives the ball forward well, has good passing range, tackles well, drifts forward and backwards where necessary to help the team. He has virtually all attributes of a proper potential world class box to box midfielder.
United are very fortunate to have such a player! He was brilliant for England against the Netherlands in that Euro 2024 Semi Final.
He's definitely worth between £80M to £90M in the transfer market because he's that good! In my personal opinion he's the exact kind of player England has been screaming out for in that midfield to play alongside Declan Rice.
As for the Final, I tip Spain to just knick it. May the best team win in the Final though.

De Jong is the reason we are no longer looking at De Jong. Ten Hag would still sign him in a heartbeat. He views De Jong as the perfect lone holding midfielder, whereas he seems to see Kobbie more as an 8.

Tbf I don't think they fully have confidence in him, they still think , sometimes, its too much for him, if Gareth had started him from the beginning of the tournament , we would be seeing a way better version of England by now .

When people make dumb comments about Scholes being poor in the defense I just laugh at the absurdity, did they ever watch him? Or just regurgitating trash? This time it's Kobbie's turn to be the warrior for England and United. The future is great.
They think that tackling is the only defensive action that exists. Scholes was a piss poor tackler, but he was more than solid defensively. It's like saying Pirlo was garbage defensively, because he wasn't a good tackler either.
@@gershomtan5879 75% rate success rate or thereabouts actually makes him a far better tackler than he gets credit for, sad that some of them come out heavier than is necessary earning him a card. Iirc that figure is close to or better than Roy Keane's. But coupled with as many interceptions and clean successful challenges that makes the territory around him difficult to occupy.

I also said he is good enough to play for Man City or any of the great passing Spanish or Italian teams and after this tournament his value is going to sky rocket. Everyone is comparing him to Scholes. Wrong United legend. He's been coached by and inspired by Michael Carrick, he's the end game of Fergie's response to the passing carousel of peak Barcelona of 20 years ago. He doesnt do flashy (much), he just understands space and how to generate it for himself or his teammates. ETH needs to build around him and find the new Scholes who can do the Hollywood stuff with Kobbie feeding them.
