It's a burnout feeling even when you like your work. It really piles on close to the 30 yr career mark as your parents pass and you realize your remaining time is less than your past. The value of personal time over business becomes more clear and some feelings of regret over past use of time start to creep in. So, take time for yourself and loved ones earlier than later.

Thank you for bearing your soul in this one, Andrew. You add value to so many peoples' lives. I resonate with what you said on so many levels. I was at the top of my game 3 years ago, having, as a single mom, taken my 6 kids to live in the Czech Republic. In spite of tons of criticism from family for doing that, we loved the people and they loved us, we built a business and we flourished. Then, because of covid, we had to come back to the US in 2020. Almost instantly, I was attacked by narcissists in every sphere of my life. I fell into that freeze response and I've pretty much lost everything and am having to start over. But, you sharing gives me hope. Those people think they've crushed me and that I'm done, but they've got another thing coming. I will not quit. I will not give up. The best is yet to come. And next time, we won't be coming back.

I’m a Canadian (America Lite, without the attendant ostensible perks of the US but sharing all of the socioeconomic downsides). Recently acquired my EU member passport and am giving Czechia a hard look even with not speaking the language (yet). Can you speak to the biggest cultural/socioeconomic differences (both better and any worthwhile worse) that would may immediately impact an under-40 expat settling there long term. Of course Prague would be the obvious initial target to set up for future plans due to English prevalence but was wondering about more “on the ground” tips that cannot be easily found online. Thanks.

    • @Pl-qq4yl
      @Pl-qq4yl 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

To help you with your question , Prague is already full of expats from all over the world. Yes, you can use English and learn Czech over the time, but the locals are not that friendly as they used to be before. They are tired of all foreigners. Prices are sometimes more than in Canada or US. I would opt for less crowded place. Czechia used to be diferrent than it is now. @@jasperalberts7647

Happy Birthday Andrew ! 🎂 I will share my Mothers words of wisdom with you : You think your old at 30, then you turn 40 . You think your old at 40 , and then you turn 50 . You think it’s all over at 50, and then you hit 60. At 60 you feel ancient , and then you turn 70 and you realize how young you were …. Aging is not fun for anyone , but you are a baby Andrew , you have a long long way to go ! ( From a senior subscriber )

The main “ problem” and reason to sadness in growing old is/are the goals. We mentally establish where we are going to be when we reach this or that age… When we arrive, we are never at the point we thought we would be. And the problem goes on and and on until the cycle is broken : we never arrive because we are always going ( until we aren’t = death) and the best of ourselves and the best of our lives is where we are at, (no matter what ) because there is no other.
      Enjoy life. It’s precious!

Dear Andrew, have you ever tried fulfilling your spiritual necessity? I went through the same thing when a turned 40, I was a successful business man, smarter than ever, charismatic, loved by my employees and customers but still felt that emptiness once in a while. For the last 5 years I've been working on my spiritual side and I've have seen tremendous results. I take pride on what I do for people and most of all, for my family and extended family but I focus in my relationship with , number one God, number two my wife, and the number three my family and friends.

My goal of starting a business is never to sell, but to create an opportunity to do what I love. I would feel like an alien everytime I would say it out loud, but it's great to hear someone else finally say what seemed so obvious to me.
The thing about speed really resonated with me. Was talking with a friend, who always takes ages to make a decision about anything. I asked him, what exactly is there to think about for so long? I came to the realisation that there is no thinking. It's just coping. A paralysis, brought upon by this idea that there is a "perfect decision" that I need to find, and anything else is a failure. The reality is that doesn't always exist, and an imperfect descision that is swift and decisive is sometimes better than a delayed "perfect decision".

There is deep value in introspection and inventory of your talents because if you dont have a rudder and a compass, Andrew, others smell that as a weakness and will push you around. This is a great video. I know exactly what you're talking about when you start discussing the "low self esteem" of your business. I'm ion a business that creates and manages highly competitive public sector bid events, and the vendors hate me with a black-hearted, all-consuming passion. Even my own customers bristle when they hear that the school district will be using our bid process, because then their favorite vendor may not win. It's been very very difficult to maintain a positive self-esteem about my business over the years, regardless of the millions of dollars we have saved our clients and taxpayers, not to mention the fact that getting close to government procurement and seeing the corruption at even the most granular level that ends up costing taxpayers dearly can cause me to lose nearly all faith in government. So, anyway, it was nice to hear you talk about that.
    Happy birthday, Andrew.

Andrew, I am amazed at your ability to analyze and use that analysis to create a happier you, a happier (and probably more productive team) that will better serve, ( that's right) better serve your clients, and soon those who would love to be your clients. That talent alone is a piece of genius sadly missing in too many people. How blessed you are to have it and cultivate it as you do.
I'm 73 and my plan A now involves going where I am treated best, (reinforced by listening to you). Fortunately I don't need help with that but if I did, I would definitely come to you. Take it from an elder, you are moving in the right direction and what and how you are doing it will make many people happy. Continue to do what you come to understand is right for you and those you work with. That are many of us who listen to you who will be more than happy to praise you for what you've accomplished and will accomplish.

I have been following your videos for a while now. I am not a 7-8 figure or even a 6-figure earner. I don’t “fit” in your group, but I am and entrepreneur (on pause right now). I have kept asking myself ‘why do I keep watching Andrew and his brilliant company’? and at this moment, 16:16 into this video, I am crying because now I know… as you talk about the message of The Boy the Mole The Fox and The Horse, I know… I too am looking for that place to belong, to love, and to thrive and make a difference. I thank you for your transparency. I thank you for all you do. At 67 years old I am planning and scheming and trying to find a way to live in a place where I am treated best, a place where people still love, and a place I can thrive. I hope to meet you someday. You are the kind of person I would love to be friends with. You are younger than half my children, but you are such an encouragement to me! Keep going! Not only can you do this, you are making such a huge difference in so many lives! In my life! Thank you Andrew! Happy Birthday!

You have completely humanized yourself! I loved your business so needed in this day and age: And I love the books you chose. I recommend, “the Alchemist”, among the books I’ve loved. You filled a niche. Keep on going. You sure have made me think, ‘who move my cheese’…

Although I have only been a subscriber for maybe 6 months, I think that I have seen all of your video content. I have learned from most of the information that you and your team have provided. However, this video resonated with me on a personal level more than any of them. Keep up the good work Andrew and Nomad Capitalist team. Thank you for everything that you do.

Happy birthday! What a great show. You’re a great person, very cool, and you are changing lives. I’m 57, recently divorced with 3 children 25, 18, & 14. I plan on moving out of the US. You’re helping me understand where to go. I’m also looking into digital remote work. I’m a great salesman, with a good voice, well versed in several subjects. I’m learning how to use my laptop. If there’s opportunities working with your company, I would love it. With 22 years working at NOBU and other world class restaurants, I’m a people person, who leads by example. God bless you. ❤

I'm so happy you're back, Andrew, happy for your fuller sense of Self. I've been watching your show on TH-cam for a couple of years now, & dreaming & planning about my own fuller sense of Self as a citizen of the world. These are dreams & plans I never would have had had I not curiously clicked on your video one unremembered day back then. Thank you for these! My best wishes for your continued fulfillment on your journey. Happy birthday! 🎉

There are a lot of haters out there that are envious of someone's success and positive energy. Do not let anyone dim your light. Thank you for all your wise and captivating videos. They give us hope in an insane world.

    Great stuff❤
I am going through a divorce due to lack of respect and love from my soon to be ex. I am also very dissapointed with the foreign policy of the US govt trying to start WWIII and the lying media both right and left blaming Russia and their allies when these wars are the fault of the American govt.
So my next book wil be Nomad Capitalist. I am a not a self employed person so the goal is a finding a work from home positon.
    God bless Andrew.

Happy Birthday, Andrew! A wonderful and helpful vlog. You should be very proud of your company and all your vlogs. You are helping people find a better life elsewhere. Sometimes you have to accept your past, but leave it behind. Going somewhere else is like turning the page of a book. A new beginning!

I don't make New Years resolutions. I always use my birthday to reflect. It isn't so much about being rich or poor but about being able to change. I keep in mind it's grist for the mill. I am grateful for all the information and the sometimes the surprise of a personal response in the chat. Well wishes to you on your birthday.

Hi Andrew, Although I'm not your target client, I do watch most of your videos ( especially the Malaysia ones ). I greatly appreciate this courageous, frank , sit down, self critique. You deserve so much credit for all you've accomplished. So many naysayers and negative people around. The message to "find love, give love in your work and all will take care of itself". People leaving their home countries for better business / financial environments are usually tough people to work with. ha ha Keep your chin up and do what you do ! Thanks ( with Love )

Happy Birthday Andrew. I have been viewing your content for years. I tried to use Nomad Capital’s services to assist In Citzenship by Descent but at the time I was informed that Nomand was not providing these services. It must have been when you were weeding out the corporate slackers. I have read most of the books that you mentioned but like your other selections. I highly recommend “Build” by Tony Fadell he has a chapter on not hiring assholes. Life is too short for having Toxic/Negative people in one’s life. You need to ferret out this cancer and get rid of them ASAP before they infect the rest of the team or your personal relationships.

Keep loving life and wandering the world. Peace and joy is a mental state as much as a state of security when you can wander and wonder freely. Burn out is real, but your fabulous to bist it up.
