  • These are common CAD and Drafting problems I've been addressing throughout my career.     How often do you encounter faked dimensions? I have seen exploded and re-typed dimensions in AutoCAD, and it was a disaster. I have any say in this, the practitioners would be fired immediately.

      Very common, especially in a large organizations where many people have access to the drawings. Untrained people will make changes and "do whatever it takes" to get the print the way they need it. Circumventing the systems...

      Yes, It very common to "fudge" the dimension then to update a poorly defined 3D CAD Model.
      I have also heard "The CAD model made good parts, so we shouldn't change it" even though the print doesn't match the Model.
      I hate that and don't be that person.
