HOLY MOSES!!! These guys sure can drive! I love the old Caprices and 5.0L 'Stangs and also that Camaro that was seen a few times in the lead! Those old pursuit cars had character and soul...
Awesome driving skills! Yummy you get 5.0 Mustangs for breakfast then IROCs for lunch and 9C1s for dinner, for some men they just died and gone to heaven. I love these big sedans, specially the caprices.
@tubesteakdynamo. My dad owns the EVOC mustang that is in the lead in this video. He purchased it from the CHP in '04 and it still has the roll cage and it has the standard Ford 302 crate motor that the CHP had installed by the local Ford dealer in Sacramento shortly before my dad got the car. The mustangs didn't have any souped up motors, they were stock 5.0 v8s that were also standard in GTs.
Hehe.. that short wheelbase and V8 in the front, make it hard to keep straight in the sharp turns.. Awesome little cars though.. especially if you can drive em like these guys.
Dang; Cool!!! 0:37 I thought they were gonna wipe-out (skid &/or roll or something)! Impressive driving!!! =] Shouldn't they have roll cages, tho, like other race cars do? ={ Stay safe, officers! =] 1:33 that's radical! Are those real CHP officers, or race car drivers, or professional stunt drivers? Cute, winning smile at the end... very studly, guys. =]
The Crown Vic is my dream car i just wish Ford would put a more powerful motor in it for 2008 maybe like a 32V DOHC V8 like the Lincoln Continental which is FWD
I have one of those Caprices; the Police put in high temp thermostats and in slow traffic it was overheating, but with the high engine temp it had insane torque at low rpm. It was hard to park the car w/o spinning the tire a little (!) Also came with a reminder-note in the cockpit what and in what order to report in a pursuit. I still have it.
No, most of these Chevies have been retired. With the newer CV and Chargers exceeding the performance of the older 9C1 Caprices, there's no need for departments to retain them. The police Mustang hasn't been made since '92.
@oneof6kmustangGT ------------------------------ The police package 5.0s had an additional engine oil cooler and a souped up alternator. Other than this, they were indeed stock
The Caprice hasn't been made sine '96. Some departments were having their Chevys completely rebuilt to keep them in service because of the great speed and power that 9C1 package has. I'm not a Chevy guy, but 150mph out of a Caprice is awesome.
You are right they were powerful cars. I used to live in an apartment a block off a 4 lane highway. When I'd hear the Sheriff Dept (on scanner) get a serious call that would take them past my place I'd walk out to watch those Caprice cars fly past. It was a long straight and they'd peg the speedometer. You could hear them coming half a mile away...like a whistle or a jet plane. Those long whip antennas would be nearly flat against the body from the air flowing over the car. Awesome sight.
Think those Caprices ran hard? Look into the 2014 Caprices that had been shipped over from Holden for police work. Still a few around in 2020, and the have LS engines..run hard and make great sleepers
That’s the B4C police package Camaro. It’s basically a 1LE with a/c. The 4th gen 2001’s Camaros the CHips had in a all white paint scheme were some of the fastest and stealthiest police cars ever...MSP tested them to 160 mph..

CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL…Simply the most incredible driver training in the World.
That lead 3rd Gen Camaro was controlled as hell! The 2+ton Caprices were rollin' hard too. :D
the 9C1 caprice, best interceptor this side of the legendary '69 dodge CHP polara 440! Those mustangs are pretty sweet too!
Awesome driving skills! Yummy you get 5.0 Mustangs for breakfast then IROCs for lunch and 9C1s for dinner, for some men they just died and gone to heaven.

That would be a blast
pretty sure that b4c 3rg gen = WIN!
That was the best driving and love those cars!!!!!!
Hehe.. that short wheelbase and V8 in the front, make it hard to keep straight in the sharp turns.. Awesome little cars though.. especially if you can drive em like these guys.
Chps look like they are having fun ....great drivers
Just ONE more thing 🤔 Proof that there is no substitute for cubic inches..👍
The foxes made great little pursuit cars...light weight , power and balls
whitelx50 not even the cops could keep the fox in line. That do two things well. Hit shit and doughnuts.
Not bad, looks like the full size cars hold the turns better.
this is why you dont mess with California Highway Patrol, lol
Dang; Cool!!! 0:37 I thought they were gonna wipe-out (skid &/or roll or something)!

NorceCodine Drove a few 9C3 Caprices...we called them 4 door Camaros
wow, this is better than nascar!
Cool video, but do you have a better quality version to upload? I'd love to see this in HQ.
amazing
Proof that cops CAN out drift you!
The stig would be so proud. XD.
i agree i like all the big sedans. sad that caprices are gone and the crown vic is gone now too. the chrager is still here but does not do it for me.
Good eye, the only reason I recognized it is cuz I had one LOL such a fun car

It would take Caprices to hang with the Mustangs. A Crown Vic surely couldn't!
Great video. That's why most people can't get away
They never lose control...
Wow I live within 20 miles from there
Impressive sir.
Do they really need their sirens on the whole time.

wow, they had some close calls there
The Caprice had Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires, 160 bucks each.
0:09 front car: BREAK CHECK!

This dudes!
I half way expected one of them to break formation and climb 3,000 feet and barrel roll
This is.what I do in the freeways in los Angeles lol
lol the iroc left them all..

hell yeah!
Thats part of it lol!
They have roll cages, strange.
oh shit the popo
These drivers need some remedial training, then maybe they can take the training wheels off lol
camaro leading the pack... typical. ;)
What about that Camaro? It says nothing about the Camaro!!
It’s the B4C package for police work...google it
and not a single fuck was given that day.
and you wont again, the mustang is no longer in service for the CHP
Stupid music ruins the whole thing
