    Great little lesson! I like how you get straight to it and teach at the same time (instead of excessive talking) also, cool view showing both hands. You helped me break a bad habit with my slide; I like how you mute the strings to isolate notes.

    I already know how to play, just seeing if I can pick up anything new and I learned slide in standard so I most certainly play with my fingers to mute any strings I'm not playing but open G is definitely a different ballgame and easier. Been playing a lot of Blackberry Smoke and Black Crowes lately so open G has been fun and my voice seems to pitch around G anyways. Great lesson man!

      Do you have it in one hand or both? I've got a few big knots in my right hand so far not trigger finger.) 53 yrs old and just now hitting my stride with beginner guitar. Figured I should plan on a playing in a way that suits not using those two right hand fingers when they do what they're gonna do

    I've heard folks say that your three other fingers must be used to dampen the strings behind the slide, but unless I missed it, it doesn't appear that you do that. Am I wrong? What do you think?

    • @jcurtis30water
      @jcurtis30water  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I use 1 finger ( my index) to mute the strings behind the slide. It’s a little hard to see because I have the slide on my pinky.
      Damping really does give you a cleaner, clearer tone.
