  • How to depressurize the fuel system and then remove and replace the fuel pump and sender unit on a 2002 to 2009 Peugeot 206 with the 1.1 litre petrol engine. You don't necessarily have to remove the air intake duct but it gives better access to the fuel pressure valve. WARNING !: Working with fuel or fuel components can be extremely hazardous so please take precautions by wearing proper protective gear and having an appropriate fire extinguisher at the ready. Ensure there are no ignition sources anywhere near you as you work on the fuel system and also make sure the work area is well ventilated. If you are in any doubt, have the work carried out by a professional mechanic. Thanks for watching. Please comment, like and subscribe !.

    For a French car a surprisingly straightforward job .Very well explained as always.If it was my car,I can't help thinking that for some reason I would feel very anxious if I had a heavy smoker sitting next to me in the passenger seat . I wonder why .............? ❤

    Did you notice the little bump on the valve cap? Do you think does it have some purpose? If yes, what do you think what is it for? :)
    Thanks for the vid anyway. Very useful.

      It's usually just in front of the fuel tank underneath the car or built into the sender unit in the top of the fuel tank

      That depressurizes the fuel lines so fuel won't spray out when you disconnect the pump hoses

    Hi my friend, my peugeot 206 1.6v has no return fuel line and it also has the regulator with the fuel pump. Does it mean that my fuel pump has one or two hose pipes on the top? Cause i see there are both types of fuel pump for my car..

    I have Peugeot 406 pretty much same system like this one.. There was leak of gas when the tank was fuel and I parked on a hill.. my mechanic said to me I could try to see and get new seal there.. Im 18 going 19 soon its my first car (its petrol 1.8l 16v sedan) and cars and bikes are my hobby and I did some little things like swap seats in my parents 206 so I can work on this but I was scared.. but I tried it.. When I did remove the ring (I bought new one and new seal and the ring is identical and OEM part) and when I tried it putting back like on video, it wouldnt go in.. I pressed the pump down and try to screw it on and it was okay but then it crossthreated I think becouse one side had gap other didnt and for the life of me I couldnt get it on.. Im certified welder, machinist and fabricator but not a mechanic and even I tho I feel stupid asking but can you help me how to get that ring to go straight and how much to tighten it? I dont see nothing about this in my native lauguage but I can read english pretty well so any tips? Also I have common hand tools at home nothing special.. pump was okay ring I put new one like in video (it was same in 406 as I taken pump off) I also got a about little under half a fuel in the tank.. is it problem or should I syphon it or something? Everything seems fine othervise only thing is there is small tension when I push pump down if I let go it come up a little (I guess bcs the float) but just can't get that ring on..

    • @screwsnutsandbolts
      @screwsnutsandbolts  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes there is resistance when you push it down as it is trying to float. I think the threads only line up in one position so keep the ring pressed down and gradually rotate it counterclockwise until it 'clicks' into place and then try and tighten it clockwise. If it still won't close, is it possible that the rubber seal getting caught in the threads as you tighten it ?.

    • @screwsnutsandbolts
      @screwsnutsandbolts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you need to depressurize the system you will. If you don't, you could have fuel spraying out under pressure when you disconnect the hoses from the unit
