Enjoyed the singing immensely. However as a former ‘Irish Dancer’ the music by all the group had me wishing I could get out on the floor again. I’m 82 and now living in Western Australia, and am an SDCRG - translated means I’m a retired Teacher, Adjudicator, and Examiner of Irish Dancing etc. Eoghan O Cuinn.
And here I am, viewing this from the western side of the Atlantic; America has forgotten so much. I thank those who uploaded these episodes; the music takes my mind off our troubles.
I am the son of a Cape Bretoner and I listened to the likes of J’n Allan Cameron! I love my Scottish heritage!! Scot’s Gaelic is still taught there! Most Cape Bretoners are of Highland Decent! The MacIsaac’s of Cape Breton are well known for their contribution to their culture!
Port is by far the best show I have ever seen. Not one poor episode. The people of the UK and Ireland are starved of the quality this wonderful programme presented. The guest musicians and singers are light years ahead in talent, modesty and sheer beauty of their music than the rubbish we in the UK have to endure on TV. When can we expect Port 4 and repeats of the first 3 Ports on BBC alba?
This is absolutely marvellous. It's a genuine thrill to see such talented musicians from across Gaeldom coming together to produce such brilliant performances.
Wonderful, I often sit and just listen to this beautiful Music, and lose myself in its infinite layers. A CD of all these masterpieces would be much loved.
And people have the nerve to say that "white people don't have a culture", like were all some sort of grey homogeneous mass. Much love to you, a member of another vibrant culture, and thank you for showing love for something that means a lot to me personally.

Lord, this is so beautiful! Makes me want to go back and keep learning Irish. I knew a tiny bit back in the mid-90's but not enough to speak it without making a fool of myself. I owe my Irish ancestors much.
You people really, really, REALLY need to record these masterpieces on an album and put it up somewhere like iTunes! I would LOVE to give you some money to have these on my iPod!
These were made specifically for the Port Tv show and we couldn't agree with you more hopefully the artists involved might re-record these for their future albums. coincidently a new series of Port will be coming to TG4 very soon. Go raibh míle maith agat

They do have recordings and CDs. This is from a TV programme called ' Port' which were a series made in Ireland and Scotland with musicians and singers from both countries meeting up in different parts of each of the countries to play and sing. A beautiful series with every single person of the highest quality.

Thanks for putting these up on TH-cam. I'd gotten hooked on the earlier Port videos and suffered severe withdrawal when they disappeared. I tried to buy the DVDs but couldn't find a source that will sell to someone in America. Know where I might buy them? You can buy just about anything here you see on our public television station -- PBS. Wow, look at the new Muireann. Quite fetching.
can someone please put up the video of Julie Fowlis, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, and Alasdair Whyte singing Seo Nam Shineadh? It was on youtube, now it's gone. Can't find the song anywhere. Sure this is the wrong place to request it, but whatever.
Fine performance ...sounds like a Waterford singing style ...good phrasing , intonation and a fine voice. Is that an Abell whistle Julie Fowlis is playing ....around Euro 350?!
This is beautiful, as usual for anything Port produces. Is there any way for you to again upload "Rigs of Rye" with Niamh Parsons singing the lead? In my opinion, that is the single most beautiful thing you've given us. I have found Niamh singing it solo elsewhere, but Julie's harmonies as well as the male singer (forgot his name) and the musicians add something magic. Everybody I shared that with told me its beauty made them cry.
I'm not entirely certain, but I think it was in the Port 2 series. I tried to follow a link through which I had shared the song with one of my sisters last year and after my click, youtube popped up with a screen reading -- ""Port,2,Baile Áth Cliath,Dub..." The TH-cam account associated with this video has been terminated due to multiple third-party notifications of copyright infringement."
A friend of mine living in UK wants to buy sets of the Port series. How would they do that? I visited the TG4 site you linked me to previously, but I can't figure out if that offers a way to buy these. It might help if I explain I am working from the PBS model here in the United States. Just about any series PBS offers -- and many are BBC productions -- can be purchased from their website. For instance, I purchased the complete "All Creatures Great and Small" series, all seasons, from PBS. So I may be working off wrong assumptions about your Port series. Here's Port 3, for example, but can someone purchase a boxed set of all the performances in Port 3? www.tg4.ie/en/programmes/port-season-3/ Thanks for you time.
If I'm not mistaken 'The Rigs of Rye' is in the second episode of series 1. I think that's it ;) facebook.com/pg/NiamhParsonsOfficial/videos/?ref=page_internal

No, it's not. It's an Irish song from Gaeltacht na nDéise, an Irish-speaking area in the western part of County Waterford in Ireland. Aodán Ó Ceallaigh, who sings in this video, is a native Irish speaker from that area. He was also my Irish teacher in the Déise Gaeltacht and taught me to sing "Fill a Bhruinneall" along with other local songs in his class
Stunning. Our beautiful Gaelic language.
While I am clearly a fan of both Muireann and Julie, Aodán Ó Ceallaigh is a magnificent voice, unfortunate that we don't hear much of him.
