Corporate Coffee Futures - Being obese (or even overweight) puts you at health risks and can kill you. Being fine being obese and wanting the world to accept you as such because you don't want to change is accepting all the illnesses, disorders, etc. that come with obesity. Considering that most obese people know the risks of their conditions, accepting it can be considered as self-harm, or at least deliberately putting yourself in harm's way.
I'm right on the line between overweight and obese, and I can assure you, I don't want the world to accept me as such. If I were to want one thing from the world, that would be to support me in my journey to a healthy body and weight.

    • @MajeDoom
      @MajeDoom 6 ปีที่แล้ว +25

Jess the Egg sometimes it's better to accept people than to change, constantly telling someone that their weight is wrong can lead to another problem like an eating disorder. I started to starve myself because of it, the weight was dropping but I was just becoming unhappy & depressed. People say being obese causes depression but I wasn't depressed until people came at me for being happy

I think some people are misinterpreting her point. She’s not saying she’s not trying to lose weight, she’s saying that she’s tired of everyone only caring about her weight and only seeing her weight

    • @daraptor5281
      @daraptor5281 5 ปีที่แล้ว +47

Abby Miles literally nobody cares about her weight, the only reason why everyone here is calling her fat is because she is literally making it a big deal out of it. And instead of choosing to better herself as a human being she chooses to blame society for her laziness and refusal to work out. It is foolish to expect or think people should change for you, so instead of trying to change everyone else she should change herself because it is quite clear that she is in fact the problem not everyone else.

Veronica Siravo in her case, I’d say for her to go and lose that extra person worth of weight. Weight loss contributes to a positive body image that reaffirms itself and helps with depression. Also helps with health and immunities because overall BMI is one of the factors that contribute to the immune system. Oh and just genuinely if a person takes to airplane seats then It’s pretty obvious past that point to lose the damn weight.

      Khurelbat Bayanbat
Sometimes, it’s not that fucking easy to lose fucking weight. Leave her alone. There are diseases, illnesses and medicines out there that cause weight gain and in some people’s situations, they’d rather live larger and happier and ALIVE.....than unhealthy, skinny and DEAD. I agree that anyone struggling should try to lose weight...of course! Try to be the healthiest you can...but if you’re faced with conditions etc etc it’s nobody’s god damn business. (I’m not saying she has a condition, I don’t know what she faces. All I know is that 1. It’s not my business 2. She’s beautiful and 3. I clicked on this video for her art!!!). So take your ignorant ass somewhere else because you should never just assume people can lose weight!

Lizzie peskir who the fuck said I didn’t assume she had something like that, bruh get it treated. There help for almost anything out there. There’s good doctors and therapist even in the 3rd world country that I live in that help take care of this stuff. Hell my family had a walking whale and she’s looking like just your average woman today because of that. If she has one then I’d recommend getting psychiatric help along with dieting. Cuz that shit worked for me when I looked like I ate a cow everyday. Also just stay away from sugary food. In America it’s almost impossible to stay away from sugary food I imagine since I lived there for about a year and I gained about 20 kg by the time I went back home and fuck me everything had a sugary aftertaste.

    • @BenjaminEsposti
      @BenjaminEsposti 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Spot on.
A few months ago, I was at about 220lbs, with a bmi of 31. (Obese)
It's pretty easy to overeat, I've found. Just because your stomach has more room doesn't mean you should eat more. It's about the mental game. You've got to get your focus redirected from eating to whatever else you need or want to do, so you won't eat as much (like I said, it's easy to eat too much).
I've started to be more careful about how much I eat and what I eat. Also, getting more exercise. I'm down to about 187 now! Although, I'd like to exercise more regularly.
BTW, yes, I'm a guy. I do have some stretch marks. And I too have had pretty bad depression in the past, but it's better now. However, now that I am less chubby and have done some physical activity, my muscles show more and I'm more confident! X3
Another thing I've found that is interesting, is that you don't get relief _just_ from loosing weight, but from the fact that, in doing so, you gain better self control and self-respect.
P.S. Also, if you closely watch your weight, don't fret if you vary by a pound or two from day to day. Clothes, and the last time you've gone to the bathroom (1 _and_ 2) can make a difference of a few pounds. I weigh myself w/clothes off, when I go to take a shower, so it's more accurate/repeatable. I also have somewhat long hair, so I weigh myself _before_ getting in the shower, since my hair is much heavier when wet.

Just take it easy. you can continue to eat a lot. Eat carrots for snacks. I usually do that and it's awesome to keep the hunger away.
Have a breakfast of fish/meat (I prefer fish tho, salmon about 200g) and 2 eggs. Proteins makes you feel full. Just stick to it. Feeling hungry after dinner? Carrots. Just eat a bunch of them. They're sweet but not rich in calories. Also i find broccoli and peas (a bit unhealthy) to be excellent instead of potatoes, pasta and rice. Just remember.. Eat a lot. As much as you want, of the right stuff. You won't be hungy and have these urges once you eat 150g of broccoli. you just won't feel hunrgy. the battle is always in the moment you feel hunger and want to get a big mac with extra everything. Just take 2 carrots instead. After you'll not feel a need for it.

I'm saying this as a formerly obese woman myself. I think strength training and yoga were especially important for me because I gained functionality long before I reached a maintenance weight, which made me enjoy the experience of living in my body for the first time.

It may be easy for you to get up and "just do it" but, surprisingly, it's really hard to control yourself to do something like work out and get away from the computer/pantry. The mind is great at making yourself do something that's entertaining in the short term but harmful in the long term.

Exercise can help with depression. The doctor tells everybody, despite their seize, to exercise, because it's good for the body and can help you relax. It can be a good thing if the doctor won't give you anti-depressants right away, because they are very heavy medicaments. Of course sometimes there's no other way, but it's good to state other ways to help with the depression.

I wasn't aware respect meant for a layperson going in to see a doctor that they get to then tell the doctor they don't know what they're talking about and demand they alter their medical opinion to one that the layperson wanted to hear. If she is going to brush off the medical opinion of doctor after doctor, she should save herself some money and stop going. It's not their fault she refuses to accept that this level of obesity is accompanied by myriad physical ailments, first of all, and second the obesity can mask an alternate underlying cause which I guess she wants them to just guess which one it is and throw some likely dangerous (if not needed) prescription or procedure at her and hope for the best. She's nuts.

I was a fat girl for 30 years until all of the medical conditions started piling up and I knew my future had regular MRI scans in it. I worked on myself, for myself. I didn't do it for anyone else. I've been on a weight loss journey for 3 1/2 years now and I'm still learning, still loosing weight and gaining life. I felt like you when I was a fat girl who felt judged and unable to be helped. I exercise for my own benefit, not for society, not to look cute in dresses. Whether you stay big or change, you live with the consequences of those decisions, just like all of the other consequences to everything else we do and choose in life. But yes, doctors will always see the fat first. We walk our own paths in life and I wish you the best. xx

Thank you for sharing your positive message. I too was a fat person for all of my life and I too am on the same journey of fat loss and muscle gain and it is a tough journey but I feel so much better about myself too. I understand the frustrations of being obese but as you mentioned there comes a time where we have to look in the mirror and take responsibility for ourselves. A lot of these fat acceptance people are still young and simply have not had the life experience and haven't been faced with the pitfalls of not taking responsibility for themselves yet.
True body acceptance comes when we actually take responsibility for what we put into our bodies, not when we pretend we are fat because a magic fat fairy made us this way. There is nothing wrong with loving ourselves, what is not healthy is loving ourselves but at the same time shoving our faces full of foods that are poisonous to our health.

All of you saying that she can't be mad at the doctor for being concerned with her health missed what she was saying entirely. I don't think that she is ignorant enough to believe that being fat doesn't come with serious health implications, however, what she is saying is that doctors will arrive at a singular conclusion about what the problem is for any and every scenario; it's because she is fat. She says that the doctor checks her blood pressure three times because he's astonished by how low it is for someone her size but ignores the spider bite aka the imminent problem. Sometimes problems aren't as obvious as a bite or a broken bone, but for fat people, options other than weight loss are often not discussed. That's why she says she gives up on doctors. There are stories of fat people living with serious medical conditions (completely unrelated to weight) that went undiagnosed because of medical neglect. That's where the mentality is dangerous.

I used to be obese and had low self-esteem and my confidence seemed to be non-existent. Doctors were worried about my rapidly increasing weight and have offered me to exercise and look after my health and that’s what I did. I didn’t demand respect or anything from the doctor and just simply took the advice into account which had shaped my life forever. After losing around 55lbs I found myself more confident and more comfortable about my own body. I used to hate to be obese, not because of the social comparison but because I had never wanted to end up like that. Working hard towards achieving my fitness goals allowed me to acquire other values such as work ethics, determination, discipline and finally understanding of my own body. Only then could I make the changes to improve my health. As a bonus, I have lost 47 pounds so far, but weight loss is not my goal-good health is. I think people sabbotage their health when they make weight their focus. I love this video. It is very much a pro-health video. Praying Mantas Good for you! Honestly that’s a big achievement and I’m glad you’re feeling so good! But, it’s obvious that you did not struggle from mental illness. Mental illness takes away motivation. For overweight, depressed people it makes them feel worse feeling their own body, if you get what I mean. And just a general comment nothing directed at you but, for all of those people saying exercise helps depression they aren’t wrong. But one, it doesn’t help everyone. And two, when someone is suicidal and literally has gotten to the point where they would rather shoot a gun in their head then go outside, I don’t think exercise is the best option.

That’s where people start misunderstanding what mental illness really is. Depression is different then just being sad. Depression doesn’t only make you sad, but it effects how you function. Honestly yeah some people might use the fact that they are “depressed” as an excuse, but that most likely isn’t actual depression. Some people who struggle from depression struggle to get out of bed, eat, or even shower. Most actually depressed people have been suicidal multiple times, that itself is a completely unnatural feeling that goes against all human instinct. People nowadays throw around mental illnesses and they’re beginning to lose their true meanings. I hope you understand. As someone who works in the mental illness field I know how depression works. Again it’s natural to feel unmotivated, sad, and like you’re losing hope from time to time. But when it starts affecting your life in ways where you can’t even function properly and that it’s a constant feeling (at least a few months) then that is what I mean by depression. So no my comment was not ignorant, if anything I think you should really look more into what depression really is.

"I do not owe you thinness" yoooooo that line sealed it. There's something to be said about how health affects physical & mental wellness, but there's also things to be said about allowing life to flourish as it does. As to what those somethings-to-be-said are, bruh that's a whole other conversation. Live your life as it makes you happy. But if you make other people happy, understand they're gonna want you around longer too

@Ger Dik such a far out and horrible attempted equivalence, and to your comment below, obesity is not something you are born with and it's not something that has to be permanent. You cannot tell me that if you count calories, exercise right, and put the REAL effort in that you won't lose weight. Being fat is consuming more calories then you burn. That is science. Losing weight is very hard and it requires a mindset change, but EVERY PERSON CAN DO IT.

look, I no we should not fat shame but having lost 50lbs of fat so far I can say that in fact many issues stem from weight, like depression, diseases, and function. It so surprising once you get rid of junk how your body will feel both physically and mentally. If more people put in that extra step theyd be surprise how many issues can be resolved just by making smarter food choices.

My depression did not get solved by losing weight (which, as is common, returned and then more so.) My depression was created by society telling me all through my childhood that I was lesser because I was fat. That I couldn't live my life until I was thin, which was BS. Function is strength, not size. You can have strength without being thin and you can be weak and be thin. I am obese, 44 and did the first handstand in my adult life not because I lost any weight, but because I finally told myself that being fat wasn't holding me back from doing things. As for disease, while there is correlation between hip-to-height and some illnesses, there are no "fat person only" diseases and the correlation with BMI is actually fairly weak. It is a horrible metric. "If more people put in that extra step" If you mean eating "right," then that doesn't cause weight loss. You actually mean calorie deprivation, which in itself is not healthy nor sustainable. I am obese. I love salads, taekwondo and crossfit. I remain obese and that is and should be fine.

      @K_Best 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

“Look, I know we should not fat shame but fuck what they say imma do it anyways” -Robert Garcia at the beginning of his “eat healthy and all of your life problems will be solved because you’ll lose weight” tangent. That’s not how it works. While you say “many issues stem from weight,” it’s really “the issues that stem from quote-unquote weight are all because of society telling people who have this quote-unquote weight that they’re not good enough, they can’t do this or that, they won’t ever be able to be X, they have to do this that and the other to lose weight to have any worth in life.” And that is a complete and utter lie. People come in all shapes and sizes and everyone deserves to be loved for something deeper than looks because the standard for looks is downright impossible to achieve. So to all of my non-binary siblings, sisters, and brothers, you’ve got this on lock. You can be whatever you want to be and I love you. You deserve the best.

Patient walks into the doctor's office says:
"Doctor, it hurts when i move my arm like this, what should i do?"
    And the doctor says:
"So don't move your arm like that"
Now, fat girl walks into the doctor's office, says:
"Doctor, it hurts when i move my arm like this, what should i do?" And the doctor says:
"Have you considered weight loss surgery?"
Fat girl walks into the doctor for a flu shot and gets a lecture about BMI
Fat girl walks into the doctor's with an earache and gets asked if she's ever eaten a salad
Fat girls walks into the doctor's office with a spider bite, and the doctor obsesses over how low her blood pressure is low for such a fat person anyway
Insists on checking it three times before he'll believe it, forgets completely about the mass of purple spider venom that brought her here, to begin with
Fat girl walks into the doctors to ask about antidepressants and gets prescribed exercise instead, because obviously her depression is because of her fat
And obviously fat body's never exercise and stay fat
Fat girl walks into the doctor's office for a standart 3 month follow-up appointment and the doctor says:
"Have you considered that weight loss surgery yet?"
Fat girl gets tired of constantly being diagnosed as fat
So fat girl stops walking into the doctor's office
Fat girl walks into the world and says:
"World, it hurts to exist like this"
    And the world says:
    "So stop existing like that"
Fat girl walks trough a world that would rather she sliced herself open, than to exist as she does side-effects be damned
Fat girl walks trough a world overrun with sidewalk doctors, who claim to be concerned about her health, side-effects be damned
Fat girl walks into the world and still, somehow manages to love her fat body
    And the world says:
    "Stop glorifying obesity"
Fat girl walks into the world and says:
"I do not, owe you shrinking, you know. I do not owe you thinness, attempted thinness or desired thinness, because you assume thinness, equals health."
For that matter i do not owe you health, perceived or otherwise to recieve basic respect.
    I'm deserving of care
I'm deserving to exist, as i do
I'm deserving a first, no harm done

In truth, I’m not very overweight, I’m rather short so my extra weight is much more noticeable to others so I understand the doctors concerns but its not much of a physical problem as it is a mental problem. I'm a 29 year old autistic guy.
You know, you don't have to listen to their scare tactics. Society makes girls afraid of weight, so much that they buy diet water (yes, that's a real product, it's literally plain water). You know, what's so bad about being fat? Fat is beautiful. I believe beauty has no weight limit, a girl will never be too big for me. And I'm a thin guy. I get a similar treatment. People either told me I was too thin, or not thin enough. A guy can like a thin girl, fine. But if a guy likes a fat girl, he's a "chubby chaser" and has a "fetish." Why is that considered normal thinking?
PukingRainbows, if you keep looking for someone else in the mirror, you will never be happy. There is nothing wrong with being fat. In fact, I think that's beautiful. It means you stand out from the norm, and the world needs more of that. Eat what you want, love yourself :)

@@alexgear959 you have no idea how this girl looks and how much her doctor says is to much weight. Maybe everything besides a thin plank is "to fat" for her doctor. At age 12 hormones start to act up, everyones body reacts to this differently. You dont want to know how many girls are considered fat, before their boobs grow in. And suddenly they are in proportion again. The fact that this child is getting traumatised by someone proffesional who should know better is horrible. And you shaming her also isnt helping. At age 12 you eat whatever your parents allow you to eat, you exercise as much as your parents encourage you. Your brain isnt developed enough to see the bigger picture of what these kind of things could mean in the long run. So you shaming her is not only harmful, its also not going to work. Same as what the doctor said, it will only make her ashamed of her body or flip to the other side and get anorexia

lovely ti ehh, weight loss is about 80% nutrition, along with exercise. People think you have to starve for fat loss, actually that’s a short cut that will just rebound when your food restriction is over. You have to eat a lot, but the key is to eat the right kind of foods, healthy foods with Saturated fats, simple carbs and NO refined sugars. The problem is your type of people want simple answers.
“Awwww I sad, I need anti depwessants”
no... you need to analyze the root cause of your depression. Are your hormones out of balance due to genetic predispositions or maybe it’s a nutritional deficit, maybe you need to see a psychiatrist.
Awwww I’m phaaat, I need surgery.
No, you need to make better lifestyle decisions
But no, you want *pills! Pills! PILLS!*
Then when you get the side affects of your anti-depressants...you want more pills for that.
But hey listen, do what you want. I’m not the one bitching about “my” shitty lifestyle.
It doesn’t occur to them that maybe they’re unhappy because of the shitty decisions they’ve been making for years. Or maybe it’s there environment. But here’s a mind fuck for you....
Everyone has free will, which means everyone has the ability to choose how they are going to respond to there environment. Life is unfair, and no amount of “social justice” is going to change that.

Doctors are extremely rude. Everyone has an opinion about your body and has no problem telling you to your face everything they think is wrong with you.

I have irregular periods and I’ve had male doctors force the idea that I’m pregnant when I’m a virgin and I when I was sick with massive coughing where a z-pack was the only medicine that could help me, another doctor I went to said that “it doesn’t work,” and forced me to take something else instead that took me three weeks to get better the z-pack takes me a week. My sister has a heart problem where she couldn’t walk for a year and constantly threw up, and she was seen by dozens upon dozens of doctors and everyone kept telling her that her problem was in her head and that she needed to take aspirin and stop being stressed out. A year later, she gets diagnosed with a heart problem from a a doctor that actually has a brain. If he didn’t help her, she would’ve died. Doctors don’t care nor do they actually know anything. They’re too busy asking for thousands of dollars up front and sending you away with aspirin.

I've been an overweight man most of my life and women have almost always rejected me. Even ones who are overweight themselves. 4 years ago I lost over 100 pounds in 7 months and everything changed. Everyone treated me better including other straight men. Carl Jung says thinking is difficult which is why people judge, so I understand your pain believe me. People didnt only reject me but they put me down hard too. Kids told me I should kill myself and people constantly attributed any mistakes I made to being "fat" even when most of them had nothing to do with diet or exercise. I lived almost my entire life in doors before a few years ago because I didnt want to hear people call me names. The fact that people treat me different now makes me resent them even more even though people seem to want me around. Hopefully I'll find love with a woman I trust to not be shallow but I find that I can't trust anyone. Everyone seems fake in someway or another especially pretty people. If you're out there and you think it's funny to put someone down and try and make them cry because you're with your boys. Just imagine this dude started boxing, jiu jitsu, and muay thai, and then lost over a hundred pounds in 7 months and in doing so at such a pace became incredibly agile for his size. Like 5 punches per second agile with shins that could shatter your femur. It's been 4 years later and that guy has become pretty proficient with mma and after sparring with K1 fighters could probably beat the fuck out of you while he made your families watch. Man that would be terrible. Or maybe you just don't say anything. Maybe that person has severe depression and has lost hope because they're sad, body dismorphia, a glandular problem, or some other disorder you can't see. Or, maybe they just like to eat and if they get big thats their business. This being mean shit has to stop. People constantly tell me how funny and good of a person I am and whether I am or not doesn't matter because I was this way before I lost weight and you still thought I should just end my life. Sorry for ranting so long but I know there's people who've come to this page to do nothing but leave mean comments so I feel like you should be warned because I'm still out here and one of you sorry ass punks might wander into my gym just to get dealt with.

Isn't this a coincidence? I was also fat as a child and adolescent and also took to Muay Thai to help remedy that. Competed as an amateur for quite some time and still train 5-6 days a week. If you've done what say you have, you know the effort it takes to go from being obese to an athletic performance level. That is something I respect and applaud. Why should I respect someone who sits on their backside all day stuffing their face? I don't go out of my way to be nasty to people, having suffered much of that myself, but when obese people get on a soap box, like this woman, and demand unconditional respect and acceptance, that's where I draw the line. Obesity should never be respected or accepted. If you make the choice to remain obese, you live with the consequences. I made and continue to make an effort every day. You say you also made the effort to turn your life around so they can do the same and stop demanding unearned respect.

Mental health is a serious issue and its something I still struggle with daily. Some people are lost and make poor choices for instant relief. I'm sure you already know this but I was saying what I said in response to people saying nasty things. You're right to not accept obesity in the same way you shouldn't accept heroin addiction. Calling a heroin addict a piece of shit along with other mean things is more than likely going to make that person want to do more heroin. Its the same thing with food. This woman is who she is and has found a way to accept herself which is a huge hurdle for people struggling with mental health. She may not be right but I dont think she wants you to give adulation for obesity. I think she wants acceptance for her, the person who struggles with obesity. And what's this about unearned respect? I used to weigh 310 and I'm only 5'9" and I never disrespected anyone. I mistreated myself and myself alone but always remained kind to others. You earn respect by being respectful and that's it. People have died from that. From having an urgent medical emergency and then going to the doctor and the doctor saying “It’s because you’re fat” and not doing any further tests and just recommending weight loss. I’m pretty sure there was a news story of a girl who went to the doctor because she was having trouble breathing, the doctor told her it was because she was obese, gave her weight loss tips, sent her home, and she later died of pneumonia.

If a provider can’t address a patient’s lifestyle in a meaningful way, then what is the point? Chronic illness is largely self induced. If they aren’t at all focusing on prevention, or aren’t allowing the time for a “prevention” based discussion, then they aren’t doing a large part of their job. As I said, there are providers out there they do/can, and I hope she finds one. And also a great dietitian!

This poem was written beautifully and some of the lines punch you in the gut but like-- I don't really a hundred percent agree with the message? Yeah, it's hard to live in the world like that and people could be rude and destructive about it but-- not like you can say yourself, that it is indeed healthy. Screw the side effects? Really? You're not only putting yourself at risk but also all the people that watch this video and others like it and believe it's completely healthy. Yeah, fat does not equal healthy and neither does thin. It's important we find a middle ground in all things because that's the healthiest way.
So, please. Stop glorifying obesity and stop glorifying unhealthily thin people. Both sides can be extremely damaging.
I get the message is about loving yourself (and I agree with this wholeheartedly) but the things you imply along with this - ignorance and health risks - is just- well, you guys know.
    Glorify the middle ground.

    • @siginotmylastname3969
      @siginotmylastname3969 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

She means fatphobic people not considering the side effects of everything they recommend to fat people - whether that's surgery, diets which are basically eating disorders, exercise regimes which let's put it this way people can destroy their joints running etc, let alone how hard that is if you have depression and other disabilities, so like those people aren't accepting how there are plenty of people who will be fat for most of their lives, no matter whether they wish they weren't, and they deserve to be seen as deserving of life same as everyone else. And the idea that they should always be trying to be healthy when many could be otherwise disabled so health in that sense will never be attainable. Hence what she says about not owing people health, perceived or otherwise. It's actually really hard to find studies which look at the health of people who do lose significant weight, I tried when I was talking with a friend with an eating disorder, people want to assume that when someone loses weight all the health risks of being obese go away but I don't think they do, especially since that's a demographic of people who are disproportionately poor and also struggle with healthcare and are probably disabled anyway. But then there are some people who are fat, but capable of everything a thin and active person is. Fatphobia doesn't even just hurt fat people, it's reflected in eating disorder programs where people are expected to let go of their disordered thinking about weight and obsession around food at the same time as the programs require their bmi to be extremely low before they get treatment and often involve calorie counting themselves, so basically if your metabolism is such that even if you starve yourself you're above that bmi you don't get treatment and aren't taken seriously. None of this will be solved till people stop trying to guess at how healthy someone is just by looking at them, and let their assumptions of the lifestyle of the person rank above even what they tell you. Also acting as if the same lifestyle is healthy for everyone is a bit of a joke.

Oml you don't get this video at ALL. It's saying that it isn't fair for someone to be judged solely by their weight. She never ONCE said that it was healthy, she's trying to say that fat isn't always the reason someone could be depressed and the world should be more accepting of overweight people as actual...wait for it... people. I know, crazy right? To treat someone you don't know with respect and not judging them by their outward appearance??

  • @RubySunset

Everybody saying "the doctors are just worried for her health" need to understand that when you're fat and go to the doctor they make every single thing about your weight. You could be suffering from something completely unrelated to being fat and they will still say "well have you tried losing weight"? Believe it or not, doctors don't always care about what's in your best interest, just getting paid. Tons of patients are gaslighted by their doctors and are immediately dismissed if they speak up about it. None of you actually care about this woman's health, you just want to mock her to feel better about yourself. Worry about your own health why don't you?

  • @chrishunter7661

Even though I like the way your emotions flow through this poem!
I'm a nurse, and I gotta be realistic with you...
We recommend exercise as a treatment to depression, not because people are fat, but because exercise increase the levels of serotonin in our brains! (Serotonin's low levels, are the reason why we might feel depressed, and being depressed for long periods, it's because of the serotonin's inability to rise back to it's normal levels)
Also, checking the Blood Pressure of an obese person when it's lower than expected, it's necessary. Because if you are blood pressure is lower than expected, then it might be a sign we should consider, because lots of conditions (much like poison) may drop the blood pressure of the afflicted patient, and it would help for an accurate diagnosis!

Plenty of fat people have normal blood pressure. The majority do, although they're busy avoiding going to the doctor like the plague because every time they show any markers of being healthy they get hit with a big dose of fat-phobia and ensuing discrimination.
Normal blood pressure in a fat person is not an automatic marker of a problem.
Also, just like she says in the poem, medical professionals see fat bodies and assume that they don't eat nutritious food and exercise, even though fat people who exercise regularly almost always stay fat. And many eat nutritious food, and also stay fat.
Situational depression (for instance, the kind that comes from being the target of chronic discrimination, for example) is NOT fixed by exercise.

Missy R. People who are confused about her message: she is done with people so obsessed with her weight. At the end of the day, people don’t care about your health, they care about how it makes you look. Example: I used to eat a lot but people didn’t care and they thought it was funny cus I was so small and I didn’t gain weight but if a fat person does the same it’s considered disgusting. We both ate terribly, but I had a good metabolism and the other didn’t. My health didn’t affect how I looked so no one cared. Bullies don’t make fun of your health, they make fun of how it makes you look. They don’t care if you’re working out and eating good, they only care that you’re still fat

Indigo. Indigoing. Indigone. She’s talking specifically about doctors, and doctors should care about your weight, given that weight is a risk factor in hundreds of preventable diseases. Onto your terrible example, unhealthy food doesn’t have a particularly bad impact on your health if you metabolise it quickly, so the fact is that your friend was likely much more unhealthy than you despite your similar diets. That may sound really disrespectful but it is an enormous problem because being heavy overwheight causes so many health issues like heart disease and athrosis in every single joint, especially in the knees. So it is not unfair and mean by the doctor to say to you that you are overweight, it is a fact and is his duty to warn you about health issues you are „working“ for.

It's not care when you're treated less than human due to people fixated solely on one's weight. It's especially not care when the doctor ignores what you've come into the office and they tell you to lose weight instead of treating the reason (that's unrelated) as to why you came into the doctor's office.
