Funny to hear Al talking about dogs, I remember when he, Lasorda, and Uecker voiced dogs in "Homeward Bound 2, lost in San Francisco". I was one of maybe 10 people that saw that film. That, at age 9, was my introduction to Al
Al keeps getting critiqued on his Prime broadcasts. People don’t realize how much experience he has and how natural he operates which comes across as uninteresting. The advice he gives and knowledge he shares goes to his character. I remember how DP gushed how Al gave him great advice when he hosted the Olympics. Give the man the respect he deserves.
He's old school. He doesn't need to bring any of that "extra" stuff to the table. He's just a consummate professional. I feel like OG football fans can respect it.
Exactly, respect silence once in a while. No need to talk too much , condense, let the viewer relax. It’s not how much you know, they all know. Do not be like Aikman who is still talking about the past play when the actual play is almost over. Buck is always behind on the play by play.
With the millions of talking heads these days. Al Michaels and Dan Patrick are like my 'listen when they speak' uncles. Rome is the Uncle that brings fireworks. Love that uncle! Cowherd brings the icky vibe, and his 'fiancee ' Candice. No disrespect to the Candices' out there.
It's so sad that if you don't have a pocket full you won't get to see many games. I have a great antenna. Watch ALL the channels every day no problem. Pre game show, no problem. As soon as kick off on the 1PM games, here comes the interference. Has The NFL gotten so petty that po folks are no longer welcome? To some of us less fortunate, enthusiastic fans, NFL Sunday Ticket would be like hitting The Powerball. Ya'll mark my words. In the very near future, The Super Bowl will be Pay Per View.😢
Grandmas, and nerds that didn't have any interest in the nfl listen to Pat Summerall and John Madden. John Madden didn't show up to the airport on game day but traveled across the country and talk to people. The color commentary guys are more essential for sports than given credit for.
It's called the Hall of Fame, not the haul of career yardage. What left more impression on you? Lynch, Sproles, or late career Gore grinding away for 4 yards?
What matters is the big moments- playoff and Super Bowl games …. nobody remembers or cares about a game in Cleveland in week 3 or week 9 in Denver - having said that Eli Manning is a first ballot hall of fame inductee .
@@chinonsoechebelem24 valid point… observed the same starting to happen with my all time favorite Dave Niehaus. Although fantastic till the very end, it was tough to see his sharpness falling off a bit in his latter years. So I hear what you’re saying
Al Michaels is the best, was always the best.
Except that he currently sucks
Al Michaels is the GOAT of broadcasting

I have Vin and Al as goats .

I like Kirk for college but I don't think he dynamic enough for pro football
This Al Michaels guy really seems to know what hes talking about
Rudd Weatherwax died in 1985 so perhaps thinking of someone else.

We watch sport for emotion, for experience. It's about glorious memories, not stats.

Professional announcers teaching jocks how to broadcast.
Sure
Love Al... But similar to Marv Albert in 2021... It's time. 🤝🏾
Why? He’s still better than 90% of the other announcers
@@Skier10 I don't like seeing my legends lose their fastball. The TNF games already lack juice. His commentary lately adds to the lack thereof
