Really enjoy your vids watching your vids got me out started getting my tennis shoes dirty now I wear boots always look forward to getting my boots dirty thanks keep up the great work you n your compadre in crime 👍👍👍👍👍
You’re the man James. I tent camp at least once a month with 2 good friends. We’re in the mid west so it gets rough in the colder months. I watch your videos leading up to the days we leave for camp. Definitely gets me motivated. Looking forward to more of your stealth camp videos bud.
Congrats on 100k! I loved Dual Survival and ran into Cody in a bank in Prescott, AZ. He was indeed barefoot and gracious enough to get a picture with me. Stay warm.
Thanks for stirring up some memories! Long ago in BoyScouts, went camping as a cold front blew thru, woke up several times in the night as the winds blew hard. Also, your caveman steak reminded me of the primative cooking skills we had to show off that weekend, by wrapping a potato in clay to bake in the fire, then cubed steak and veggies on wooden skewers that we made from nearby saplings. Keep going out there and making your own memories, and many thanks for helping me relive mine.
As a native west Texan, love your videos. Stumbled onto you some years back and it’s been great content. Love learning how to utilize native plants in the area.
It takes a man wanting to learn in admitting ones mistakes. From knowledge you will absolutely grow because you have no choice in the matter! Sorry don't want to get to philosophical . Really enjoy watching you guys. The music is awesome!!
@@JunkyardFox James, I have no doubt your fox skull is accurate. But, in my view your original logo is a MUCH better design. But, having said that, it is your channel use whatever logo you want. I may cry a little if you stay with the skull, but at the end-of-the-day I will survive and will keep enjoying your & Cuervo’s presentations. 👍
The human body adapts to its climate, what is cold to u feels the same as what is cold to a canadian or alaskan, they are more used to colder climate so u feel just as cold in ur climate as they do in theirs. Great video, thanks james
That may be so. But, I moved down here from a northern climate. Its dry and windy down here. (Bitter)I always wondered why cowboys wore the long leather coats. It's a wind brake.
Nice video James and thanks to Cuervo for the desert tunes👍👍 Same thing happened in my area twice now in a couple weeks, got cold then warmed up then got even colder. Gotta expect it living in this part of the country, just never know. Now that was a steak and I laughed hard when you realized the Jalapeno was x-warm 🥵 it happens. Great fire, food, drink and raw nature, one just can't beat it. Thanks for the work, now waiting on the next one. Until then, stay safe bro.
Hey Cowboy. Firebox Stove has a new burner with a diffuser. It fits in their stove with stability. It makes the perfect small gas grill. Also it would contain your fires and require a lot less wood. I’m sure Steve would send you one to try and review. I love all my Firebox gear. Extreme quality and usability.
Hello 👋 my outdoors friend, thank you for sharing your camping 🏕 adventure from the chilly Wesr Texas desert 🏜. I enjoy your videos. Keep up your great work and stay safe out there. 😊
Man, Cuervo's music really sets the mood for these videos. As for which logo, although the skull is pretty cool, the fox with knife will always be the iconic one for me. Maybe a revamped, more detailed version of that further down the road with the Snake Eater knife? As always, good times, bro. Cheers!
Yea!!!!🎉 new junkyard fox video!! And I just bit on a junkyard fox beanie!❤. I’m so looking forward to getting it cause I feel this year here in central Ohio this winter isn’t going to be nice ugh. God bless and love your videos as always brother.
I love camping, but I like dome tents you can stand up in. I suffered for years in smaller tents, dressing and crawling around on my knees. A 4-person tent works great. Nice video. Again, my beer of choice
The clouds’ condition is called virga, which is precipitation dropping but evaporating before it hits the ground! Nice vid, and good on you for treating fire carefully!
Good one as always, James! Sotol stalks make the best walking sticks and the thinner ones are super useful for friction fire. I'm attempting to make a lightweight backpack frame from one, at the moment.
Love your videos your the man ,you could have used a lil grill plate, must be tough eating steak in the ash after a long day, never trued it , I will, though
Yes, I'm laughing at you in Alaska LOL but on the other side of the coin, we suffer when it hits 70 degrees and they put heat warnings on the radio and TV at 80, so it all evens out!
Great video! Thanks for taking us along on the camping trip. If I may offer some constructive criticism regarding the logos: I believe the skull appears more as a picture than a logo. I understand its significance to you, which is essential. However, as a logo, it might not be readily recognizable to new viewers who might not be familiar with all the Jurassic theme elements and that you found this skull etc. One suggestion could be to simplify it-maintain the same shape but consider editing it to enhance its simplicity. I'm torn between the two. The classic one is more of a logo but the new one represents you personally more. I would then keep the skull one but modify it to remove some of the details to make it more of a logo. I hope that helps with some decision making . Cheers, Dave.
mi amigo!, senor james, i watched the idiots vid about the pack, .... i ask him to show his line of products so i could purchase a "good pack", but so far i have not heard back from him, amigo. so i will stick to you advise and buy hidden woodsman products, i think.
Talking about the logos, I like the original fox slightly better, but I have to say using both is cool because it doesn't feel like one is over used. I think the beanie with the skull looks cool but I definitely would like the enameled mug better with the knife fox logo better.
James, have you ever looked into a swag tent? Like the 23Zeroe bandit 900, 1100 or even (what my wife and I use) the 1400? I just feel a swag would be a better match for your style of camping and for you. We love ours. Cheers.
Hey there, long time outdoorsman here, I’ve made cups with fire in the past and found that I get a better cup if I burn the wood for a short while and then scrape out the char before starting over. Takes a bit of time but well worth the effort.
Great video. The cold weather camping has begun . I like the square platter / plate you ate your dinner on . Bon appetit ! 5 star review for Cuervo's new track , Ghost Wind . I like both of your Junkyard Fox logos .
G'day James. Thank you for another great video. Congrats on passing the 100K subs milestone, you have put in a lot of hard work to get there. Also great to see you rocking a quality Australian hat. Just for information, we don't generally use the term cowboy in Australia. A young inexperienced station hand is a Jackaroo (or Jillaroo for female) and an experienced, skilled stockman is a ringer. For my 2 cents, I prefer the old logo. The tail almost looks like it's on fire. I have tried to warm up to the new one, but I just don't like it. To me, it doesn't look like anything you can visually associate with a fox. I think it looks kind of like a dinosaur skull. Just my opinion, and you did ask. ;)
Steak is great cold & raw ,way it was ment to be ate .. as for the burnout of the yucca, would wrapping it witha wet rag after bladework to remove the pith work?.... Great vid Be safe James 👍👍👍👍👍
Should not the pad your tent sits on not go past the bottom go the tent so if it does rain non finds its way under your tent? Also one thing about the desert is there is always tinder about. I assume you bring wood with you when camping in our desert
Thanks for coming through with another great video James. Nice and mellow! And keep rockin that Fox Skull. I seem to have warmed up to it nicely as well and it just pairs well with the Twin Crows. Peace my brutha, and I'll see you on the next adventure.

I live in Cleveland Ohio and I am used to the cold albeit, the older I get, I have a hard time with it!! I must say that I would rather have the cold than the 🥵. You can always put more clothes on….you can’t run around with no clothes on 🤣 Also, I prefer the original Junkyard Fox logo as well as the “Go outside and get your boots dirty” Just saying 👍
