Shame you couldn't sneek in the Arcam DV88 at a nice price, would like to know if it outperforms the sony, great video none the less, the dvd format still keeps giving 😀
I spy a Panasonic SL-PJ324! Just got myself a '325 to replace one that went to a friend in need - an excellent little under-the-radar CD player with a pretty bulletproof Philips mechanism. Looking forward to your thoughts on the '324, Michael.
can you provide some backup data on that please? that is not what I've heard as most DVD/CD players from mid 90's until recently have Twin-Wave Laser Pickup which has 2 different laser pickups, one for DVD then one for CD, that negates the "DVD lasers are working on a much higher frequency/pick up more info and sounds" claim. Thanks.
I have...a ps3 with dac bypassed to yamaha amp dac.For some reason sounds more analogue, pleasant than more expensive dvd players.
Thank you for your advice, Michael. I'm in the US and my DVD player just died, so l'm looking for another one. You gave me some things to think about.
Thanks for the comment, hope you manage to get another player
I use a 1996 Pioneer laser disc as my CD player...sounds great in my 2.1 system.....
Hi Michael, I'm a bag fan of CD's so this will be interesting..

Thanks for the comment, I will try and get some other models in future videos, I might get lucky with an Arcam

@Alex Mit Sure, if the price is right. It's a decent performer.
@Alex Mit Glad to be of service, Alex!
is yamaha s2700 good for sacd playback?
Sorry not had that model, it palys SACD and get very good reviews
Get on with it!
Sorry Michael I can waffle along
Informative waffle. All good!
DVD lasers are working on a much higher frequency and therefore pick up much more information and sounds therefore clearly better..More articulated.

This guy talks too low even when the volume was turned up
Sorry I keep forgetting to increase the volume when editing.
The audio seems okay to me. The only problem is that I can't understand his accent, but that's my fault.
