Problem is the mortars are following and landing where the dead mobs should have been. Just needs better AI targeting and you would have been unstoppable
@WiboActual based on what I'm observing, you did nothing bad. It's just how the tracking works. Honestly mortars should have an alternate fire target like aiming the ground. Most games have that for splash towers
@@WiboActualyea nothing the mortars are firing out trying to anticipate the speed of some of the enemies but they die and then it’s already fired 5 more times at it.
@@WiboActualyou could have spread out the fire by switching the target priority really fast during a wave, instead of attacking a single point the tower could have attacked up to 4 points at the same time
They got so far because of travel time for the shots. :) It's spending a lot of time shooting one dude (the reason it is shooting nothing a lot) that thing is a champ at leading it's target though.
I feel like targeting would be super important with a mortar with this mod. You want it shooting into groups so its shells dont get wasted shooting multiple at an enemy that dies in one. A ballista might actually out preform a mortar with this mod

You had your mortar on "progress," so the vast majority of your shots missed. Then you changed it to "fastest," which is the same as "progress," since they're the ones who jump in front of everyone else for being the fastest. What you probably should've done was add in conflicting targeting options, so you're firing at different enemies with each shot. One "progress," one "slowest," and one "most shield" would've been constantly shooting at different enemies and obliterating them all. Just something I noticed. The More You Know!™
@WiboActual Try manually spam changing the targeting priority once it has decent attack speed and the mortars will hit way better groups of enemies. And you can always stop it on progress if you need to kill something that is getting too far
I think you could have done better by avtively switching targeting to health armor and shields to make it target everything instead of the progress one
The problem with that tho is that it might ignore the first ones to hit other enemies with more health/shields What would be effective however is keep spam changing the priority on targeting that way it will shoot mortars everywhere
Its giving me vibes of:
"Private, you see that target over there?"
"Yes, what about it?"
"Well Private, I dont want to"

I figured out the problem. The mortar shoots its next shot before the the first shot hit it.
