  • Greetings All,
    In this episode we examine the methods used here at Restomod Daisy to apply a Danish Oil finish to our curly maple stock sets. There are many ways to do this, this is but one of them. This was supposed to be a single video but technical difficulties arose so it's now a 2 part segment. This one one cover initial application of the Danish Oil and part 2 will illustrate the final coat and sanding process.
    Thanks for watching!

    Always amazed at your craftsmanship and attention to detail. I have a pretty good idea as to how you rough cut the wood, but no clue as to how you "finish" the parts? Cuts, curves, fittings, etc.

    • @RestOModDaisy
      @RestOModDaisy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Marv, That's another video added to the list. The curves are mostly eyeball work followed by hand work to see how it feels followed by more eyeball. Hard to descibe but doable by anyone willing to take a crack at it.

    Absolutely Awesome!! Your craftsmanship and workmanship is absolutely amazing that is really really beautiful. Sometimes it’s just better to let the craftsman make the parts. What would you charge to do this for a late model red Ryder BB gun??

    I've got a Daisy 450 that I found at a church yard sale for

      Captain Napalm, You have picked a doosie for a first Daisy product. I've never seen a Model 450 in the flesh but have seen it mentioned on the forums as other owners pursued issues you are describing. There is a thread over at the gatewaytoairguns forum that has a good bit of the info you're chasing. The 450 is a wide body and all the funky stuff with the 5 shot mgazine is going on well past the compression chamber. You should be able to dismount the plunger assembly with a regular mainspring compressor and get guts out of the back side to check your seals and airtube without to much trouble. Mark Ritter (Cobalt 327) was posting into it so it's worth a read as he's the Daisy parts guy.

    I have an idea, what if you cut down a new red Ryder or an old red Ryder and turned it into a Mare’s Leg? The short barrel would be hard for the feeding but there has to be some way to do it.

    • @RestOModDaisy
